player look a likes

i know this may sound dumb but why to the players from sign look like the ones in the hack//games
like bear look like orca and mimiru looks alot like blackrose and tsuaksa looks like elk grdanina-BT
it is because theres a limit on players looks character dysien (bad spelling sorry)
can i ask what you think ?

End of a Shadow pretty much nailed it. If you saw the videos for FRAGMENT, i believe they were having pretty much the same problem. Only 3 sizes, a few colors, and other variations. Either that or possibly they were too lazy to start from scratch and just changed the colors of a few character. But thats just a theory.

End of a Shadow's and Regai have got the right ideas. If you have ever played an mmo, chances are you have walked across a visual clone of yourself at one time or another. I know I have in WoW and ffxi.

True, but I'm only listing the designs shown in //analysis. If there was only 21 designs in The World (if there was one), I seriously doubt people would continue playing it.

Either way, people play mmorpg's for the fun aspect. Having clones usually doesn't push people away from playing an mmorpg...look at Runescape.

If you're referring to his character's model having wings, its explained in .hack//AI BUSTER, in which Orca and Balmung defeated the Special Event known as THE ONE SIN. The reward (other then being referred as the descendants of Fianna-Orca of the Azure Sea and Balmung of the Azure Sky) was a set of rare white wings. Orca declined them, while Balmung accepted. I mean original in the legal scope of the game, not illegally modifying data.

The wings WERE the model change.

I could of sworn hearing something in Sign that pairs of wings were given to CC Corp employees. Such as Lady Subaru.

1) Lady Subaru doesn't work for CC Corp. She just opened up a guild that worked for the people and moderated without any official power.
2) Lady Subaru's wings are available to Heavyaxe girls as a character design, but they're all small and dinky and are just for decoration
3) Balmung's wings are FUNCTIONAL and allow him to friggin' FLY.

Only in the games can you. I am more then positive that in the actual game itself, you can jump. Since you only see balmung fly in the anime (that as far as I can remeber), then you can assume they have full control over their characters to walk certain ways, sit certain ways, and even hang from the ledges before falling to their death or being pulled up ^^.
