Unanswered questions in .hack//SIGN

Post by Xu Yuan »

I'm sorry to create this topic but I am unable to find a similar one.

In the 2nd episode Morganna tells Tsukasa to imbue the girl with his own color, what did that mean exactly?

In the 4th episode after the Guardian has PKed the girls Tsukasa goes back to Morganna's realm where day and night are interchanging. What is the rreason for this. (SOrry was 4, in the morn when I posted this.

In the end of Depth, Aura stops floating for an unexplained reason.

In Ep. 22 I believe when they are talking to a functrional Harald, Morganna says, "Harald, Harald, I will not forgive you for getting in the way of my will." With that Macha's strip of grass decodes and she looks like she was running to stop Morganna, or perhaps do her bidding?

As well in the 22nd or 23rd episode Morganna, makes a comment that seems like she adores Aura with a motherly like tone, but don't the records say by this time that she had deleted her maternal programming?

I am not looking for normal fans to answer these but perhaps someone with Analysis may have the answer, thank you for your time.

1) I believe or think she meant to be whatever he wanted himself to be, which would help Aura's data go further. This would also keep him within the game with no desire to log out.

I think the rest isn't exactly something I can answer right now.

1. This could be a reference to how Morganna was using Tsukasa to keep Aura from awakening. "His own color" would be Tsukasa's feelings of loneliness, sadness and negativity. All these things keep Aura asleep and prevent her from waking. By keeping Tsukasa's emotions tied to Aura's development...you get the idea?

2. So...what's the actual question about the fourth episode? You just stated something without asking anything. ^_^;;

3. Depth is in the second half of the series correct? This could be a sign that Aura's awakening is near at hand. You wake up from sleep in your own bed. Aura's floating above it could signify that awakening is still out of reach. When she floats down onto the bed, it shows that she is getting closer to waking.

4. Harald wants Aura to awaken. Morganna does not. Harald encoded his consciousness into The World to prevent Morganna's plan from suceeding. I believe that Maha was carrying aromatic grass, a treasure item. Maha was an npc whose apparent function was to collect it. When the grass decodes, it could be a sign that Maha's own code and functioning was re-written.

5. I'm not sure about that one. I don't remember that part in the series.

Now, I haven't seen .hack//sign in about a year so this may not accurate. These are just my theories. Make of it what you will.

I don't think you need Analysis to answer this. I agree with the previous two posters.
In the 4th episode after the Guardian has PKed the girls Tsukasa goes back to Morganna's realm where day and night are interchanging.
There's a pretty good chance this won't get answered either, as it's most likely symbolic. Since his "color" has begun to affect Aura, her natural progression (day) is being disrupted by an excessive flow of negativity (night).

Ditto what everyone else said.

Tsukasa's teetering inbetween hope and despair, so the realm's inbetween pleasant and scary. Also random Twilight symbolism.
In the end of Depth, Aura stops floating for an unexplained reason.
I always figured Tsukasa had the ability to make her float down.
In Ep. 22 I believe when they are talking to a functrional Harald, Morganna says, "Harald, Harald, I will not forgive you for getting in the way of my will." With that Macha's strip of grass decodes and she looks like she was running to stop Morganna, or perhaps do her bidding?
It looked like Maha was flipping out, as if the decaying grass was infectious. Maybe Maha just decided "Woah, Morganna's pissed." and decided to book it.
As well in the 22nd or 23rd episode Morganna, makes a comment that seems like she adores Aura with a motherly like tone, but don't the records say by this time that she had deleted her maternal programming?
Yet another error in the Liminality discs. Morganna can't edit her programming in such a manner. That's a power unique to Aura. However, she did find loopholes to suppress Aura by reasoning that she was protecting Aura from the outside world and such. Morganna's also one for irony.

Edit: Alright now I have a few more questions after seeing various music videos with clips.

In ep. 11 I think it is, Tsukasa, has a dream where he is killed by Aura, with a Subaru face. Any reason for this, suggestions and theories open.

In ep. 13 BT says a cryptic line, that may just be an error of translation. "The unocking of the seal is... too great a burden." After "talking" with Harald. Any thoughts?

In ep. 15 Depth, You hear (what I call) Bells of Twilight, then Aura's eyes open, yet her eyes opening looks like Macha's eyes?

In ep. 24 After Maha sacrifices herself a portal opens that surrounds Tsukasa and Subaru, which Mimiru runs in this as well. On first glance it could be Morganna, but what reason would she have for that? As well if it was Morganna, wouldn't Mimiru's involvement, interrupt what she had in mind? If you notice it is the Mimiru "AI" that Tsukasa finds a flaw in. As well, who broke the illusion? To add to that, who warped them straight to Morganna? It couldn't have been Morganna, there is no reason for it. As she was seemingly not paying attention when they arrived. She only spoke after Tsukasa had begun to wake up Aura.

I think that's all for now, but I'll find more.

I got the impression that dream was delivered by Morganna, who was worried about Tsukasa getting too close to Subaru.

This could be right as she wanted him to get close to perhaps only Mimiru, Morganna perhaps wasn't counting on adding Subaru into the equation. Though Morganna's lucky (to an extent) that Tsukasa returned to her area. Though I don't understand why she didn't take forward action against Subaru right there?

I got the idea that that was simply a dream. You see weird things in dreams, sometimes abstract, and they can occassionally show you a piece of the future. Tsukasa may have actually witnessed Morganna in physical form: obviously she has no form, but in a dream that doesn't have to be the case. I did some fanart a while ago that played off of this interpretation of Morganna having the same mark as Subaru.

Morganna's screwy mind games.
In ep. 13 BT says a cryptic line, that may just be an error of translation. "The unocking of the seal is... too great a burden." After "talking" with Harald. Any thoughts?
She thought the Key of the Twilight was just some cool item you could get through a quest, but after meeting Harald, she realizes she'll have to go through too much crazy, whacked up stuff.
In ep. 15 Depth, You hear (what I call) Bells of Twilight, then Aura's eyes open, yet her eyes opening looks like Macha's eyes?
Mind games.
These are even more mind games. She pulled them in to break their spirits and turn them against each other so they wouldn't be able to work together against her. Morganna was also the one to break the illusion, since it was clear that the illusion wasn't gonna work anymore, so she's like "Screw it, I'll take care of them directly."
Because she didn't want to lose Tsukasa's trust "yet." If she lashed out at Subaru while Tsukasa was there to witness it, Tsukasa would NEVER be able to be used properly anymore and we risk Aura's Awakening.
