Ringing Sound.

In the last world in .hack/INFECTION, where you fight the first phase- in the dungeon, did anyone notice a ringing sound in the background? (It was similar to what the girl heard in Liminality)

I heard it, so I just want to clarify that everyone else did as well.

The ringing is common throughout the whole .hack series.

Watch the first liminality movie. The ringing sound in mentioned to be like a tunning fork.

I don't know about this ringing sound but maybe I did heard it going to skieth but i'm not sure.

It's intended to be uncertain. You hear it, but then you doubt you did because it induces, well, for lack of a better phrase, a sort of hypnotic relaxation in the brain. Some people don't hear it at all if they're totally into a game. It goes back to parapsychology. If you DID hear it, without a doubt, it means you're probably distracted.

Are you "CERTAIN" you heard this?
I don't remember it being there.
Where was it? Right when you were going up to fight skeith (Like the last floor?)

All I remeber hearing is the annoying ringing sound used in all of the data bug dungeons, is that what you are talking about?

It's heard more often as the game becomes more "corrupt". In Infection, it's usually only heard in the areas that have the corrupt fieldmaps and corrupt dungeons (all the databug areas). As you finish Mutation, the ringing becomes heard in the root towns (after phase 3). For the remainder of the game, I believe that sound is in all the fieldmaps/dungeons/root towns until beating Phase 8. But I don't recall hearing it while in battle mode...

Oh, I heard that stupid ringing noice. I thought you ment the liminality (as in, the anime episodes with Sieg) where you hear "the sound" before going into a coma.
(That would have been more cool if you could have heard those in the background)

Lol the ringing sound is the common thing you hear when fighting the phases, and it's in the .hakc series.. Nothing new about it..

Supposedly its a really fine noise that not everyone can hear perfectly. Just listen close and you'll probably hear it.

I didn't hear it either, but I'm sure it's there, unless we've managed to induce mass halucinations among the world. Heh. Perhaps I should play it when I'm more relaxed, see if it happens then. Though, if I'm expecting to hear it I doubt I will.

You're not supposed to hear it. Just like in the .hack universe it goes under your radar when you're totally into the game. The same thing happens with things like barking dogs and crying babies when a person's watching TV or whatever.

Are you talking about that weird sound that gets louder and quiter when your in corrupted dungons? I've never heard it while fighting a phase though.

i think you hear it in the cutscene showing the phase before you fight them, theres some static sound there to add to it. i noticed the sound right away becuase i have REALLY good hearing, but if you look for it you can find it anyway. it gave me a headache after a few times hearing it.

That sounds not difficult to hear, it's when the droplet of water hit's the "water" and creates a ripple. In other words a wave..

still my head still hurts from hearing it

I shouldn't complain though, the original sound that was there really messed people up from what i heard.
