Which Genre is for you?

Post by S1lentOp »

I haven't seen one of these in a while (or ever) and thought it would be interesting to see what genres of gaming you're into. I've excluded any kind of RPG because it's already pretty obvious that everyone is a fan. So I've limitted it to the major groups.

Because of the restriction on the number of options you can have in a poll, I was unable to include all of the genres, so I included an "Other" option. If you choose "Other," than please post what genre it is you like that wasn't specified in the poll.

This poll includes games for ALL platforms including consoles and PCs

This was a hard one, because I am split between first-person shooters, and flight simulator games. I love both genres pretty much equally. However, if you forced me to say.....it would be flight simulators. I just love flight, and with the addition of air combat, first-person shooters don't stand a chance against it.

How can you NOT like Devil May Cry?! *Waits for Partisan to back him up on this.*

We're on a forum for an RPG, and you neglected to include that genre? Blasphemy! 8)

RPG's (includes strategy/tactical variants), PC first-person shooters, and strategy for me.

I excluded it for that very reason. If I had included RPG, than most people would have just put RPG and the thread would have then become very predictable.

I'm pretty fair on most genres, but I'm not too fond of FPS, unless there's something unique 'bout 'em (Maken X, Breakdown, Etc.). the determining factor is what I call the 15-min. rule, if it can hold my attention for that long, then I like it. there is 1 genre I despise, though......SPORTS GAMES!!!!

I starting to get into the RPG genre now but I really love platform type games. My favorite is Metroid and Mario.

But isnt it funny how some games try to create something that try Fighting /Shooter. Can't remember the game but it is a shooter and you have to hunt down the Iraq terrorist then when you find them you have to fight them until they surrender.

I'm more of an all around, play anything I find intrusting kind of guy, but if I had to pick I would say Action. As for why, just cause it's what most of the games I have are.

Of course, like most I love RPGs. But a close second could be survival horror sort of games. I like most types of games really, some sports even. Though that's really just amefuto...

mine would have to be
the shooter because
i always have the best aim in
those games, and barely die..
and also barely lose my temper.
