Chances are she did it for psychological reasons. In real life her father hated her because she was a girl and reminded him of her mother. In order to escape this painful reality, she created a fictional character who was the opposite of herself physically. Thus, she chose a male character rather than a female one. This way, she could pretty much do whatever she wanted and not have to be reminded of the "ludicrous world" she lived in. In this way she designed "her reality" and "her world".

Oh know I understand...so in The World she was the "son who never exsisted?"S1lentOp wrote:Chances are she did it for psychological reasons. In a sense, yes. But she didn't do it to be anyone's figurative "son." She did it simply to escape from the real world and to find respite from that reality within a fictional one that she designed for herself. Hence why she says "my reality," or "that ludicrous world," or "this is my world." You see how she's contrasting the two realities and claiming ownership of the fictional one, all the while disowning the non-fictional one?FromFirstToLastChick wrote:Oh know I understand...so in The World she was the "son who never exsisted?"
What she was doing was a more extreme form of escapism.

S1lentOp is right. her life was miserable in real life. so she chose to be a male wavemaster and until the start of the serie's still know's that she is female.
any thought's that she had, i believe, were alterd by morganna to have her depicted as a male or effeminite(your not quite sure which gender the figure is. you are led to believe that tsukassa is male because of his charichter inside the world)morganna does this so as she(tsukassa) would forget her outside gender when she got what i believe was a form of DD i the first episode of sign.
after this happen's tsukassa wake's up in the dungeon as a male charichter and think's that he is male, meet's mimiru and the serie's is started.
god bless escapeism it's so good to all of the bad guy's!

Not directly, no. When he was knocked unconscious while playing "The World," he suffered the usual side-effects. One of which is amnesia (Silver Knight also went through this after being knocked out by the Guardian). After that, Morganna trapped him, learned his memories (which were trapped in the game along with him) and manipulated him with them.Cless wrote:Didn't Morganna tamper with Tsukasa memory?
When he was trapped, his consciousness was in the body of Tsukasa, which was digitalized, and so were his memories, thoughts, and emotions. All of them were linked to the game because that is what his consciousness was linked to.

Would that explain the images seen of Tsukasa in Netslums.S1lentOp wrote:Not directly, no. When he was knocked unconscious while playing "The World," he suffered the usual side-effects. so let me get this straight. people think that it's weird for two friend's to hold hand's, hug occaisionally, write to each other and treat each other like a realy good friend.
i mean i may have missed the point completly and i'm sorry if i did but it seems to me that you are all getting hyped up over nothing. i mean they hold hand's in the series. so what. they meet offline. so what. the have deep and meaningful conversations. so what.
everyone has got to have that someone who they connect with. and these two have found each other.
personally, if it were to go a full girlfriend-girlfriend relationship, then i say good for them.
is there anything to base any of the other relationship related post's on other than HACK//ZERO which i haven't seen. might be something in there which i don't know.

The situation certainly is hazy. I'm leaning more towards them being close friends, but it is open to interpretation. I can't say I'd condone them being lovers, but it also wouldn't spoil the series for me either. I see your point though. Although it is uncommon with guys, I've seen girls act similar to Tsukasa and Subaru without being girlfriends.
My personal verdict is they are close friends. If you disagree, that's fine. Again, it's a hazy situation.
