Little info on the Item Completion please

Post by Shugo88 »

I didn't really understand it. Does it mean all I have to do is talk to any NPC in town(shop npc) and the its register? Another question, I never figured this out through out the last 3 game  In the item there menu there is few #s between the L1 and R1 like 15/40 0/99. What does that mean?

Well, the first thing is that you only can start the item completion quest when you´ve beaten Corbenic (Phase 8 ). Then there will be an NPC standing beside each chaos gate in every server. Go to one and talk with him...he´ll register all items you´ve in your inventory and the elves harbor. You don´t need to store the items...once you´ve registered them you can sell them or use them.
Rare items and books are excluded in the item quest.
---

These numbers represent your inventory:
15/40 means that you´re carrying 15 different types of items. You can carry max. 40 different items but every of this 40 types to an amount of 99.
i.e. you can have 99 Healing elixirs, 99 mage souls and so on, but only 40 different types of items.
0/99 is the inventory of your elves harbor (spelling? *I´m german*)
Every root town has an elves harbor where you can store items which you don´t need in your personal inventory. The functionality is the same as with your inventory, except that in the elves harbor there can be stored 99 different types of items.
*Yo-Yomm...your member adress please!* - Sora, .hack//sign.

*The one who is stupid is this pighead over here!" - Helba referring to Lios, .hack//Mutation.

Some help

Post by deity »

This little quest is hard. I've nearly done it but there asr some low level items that are really hard to find cause u need to data drain low level enemies. Im level 99 so i kill them in one hit. Keep the items that rarely come up come on low level fields and dungeons. Rare items dont count. But you probably already jknew that.

Three words: Springs of Myst.

I completed it... and those are your friend. Just get the closest item to it that you can find in a shop or in a trade or already in your inventory, and level it to become that item. Remember...

For weapons:
Clear day +2
Clear night +1
Rainy -1

For armor:
Rainy +2
Clear night +1
Clear day -1

So... you can basically take an item of one class then level it up in the spring and keep registering it, and so on and so forth.

However, once you get to weapons that are too high for Omega Grandpa, you'll have no choice but to rely on DDing. But there's no possible way you're too high to fight those, even at level 99 they're a fair match. Hah.

Also, there are several weapons which exceed the Omega Grandpa limit that can NOT be found on any monster. Those you'll have to find in a Gott statue. However, for Heavy Blade, you can get the remaining weapons from Kazu. I'm pretty sure the other ones you'll have to find in Gott statues. But I'm fairly sure that you won't have that problem with the axes, I remember all the too-high-for-Grandpa axes being DDable.

But if you're stuck looking for Gott statues with the other ones you end up having no choice but to find that way, you can PM me for some keywords where I found 'em.

Darkness does not fear the light. The light fears the darkness. But when many small lights gather together, the darkness shrinks in terror.

Spring trick isn't working? You sure you have the order right? If it's armor you're doing, it's not exactly the order you see on your Item Completion progress menu. The Spring of Myst's order is lowest light one, lowest medium one, lowest heavy one, second lowest light one, second lowest medium one... etc. The list you see on the menu lists all the light ones, then medium, then heavy. But the weapons list is pretty straightforward with the order, matches the springs, except I happened to notice that on the menu for the wands, Shinto Dream is horribly misplaced. That's just a game mistake.

But I imagine you're buying items from the Delta shop since they're close to the ones you're looking for, right?

But anyway, there's a way to easily DD low level monsters when you're level 99, you know. Do you have the Twin Blade weapon "Nil & Despair"? If not, you get it by DDing Woodstock Data Bugs which are found in Sigma, Screaming Wind Sand's Fate Castle. But that weapon's perfect if you want to DD a low level monster like a Goblin, or a Disco Knife.

Some of the low level monsters, like the Water Witch or the Grand Mage, tend to Protect Break only when Magic is used on them. That might be a bit more of a challenge to Protect Break, but if you have a Wavemaster with a "Wand Wannabe", that should do the trick. If you don't... well, heh, that's a shame. Unless you don't mind descending to B11 of Hidden Darkside Holy Ground again and DDing a Death Implant Data Bug. But of course, you can have the Nil&Despair equipped and use Lv1 magic yourself, I never tried it but it should work...

Aren't all the scrolls available in stores?

As for Grunty food, you can find the mints in Delta, Raging Passionate Melody, and the Root Vegetable in Theta Chosen Hopeless Nothingness.

Mimiru's got all the Elemental Banes, IIRC. Or one of the sign characters. Gah... check Ryu Book 3 for items people are holding, that could also help. Helba has all the max weapons (but they are all DDable).
