Avalon Academy: Tales of Sorcerers(Open RP)

Kanna merely ate quietly as she listened to Auroch talk and ramble on about his various thoughts and beliefs about the Inquisitors. Some of it was things she'd thought of, some of it things she'd not thought of, like possibly joining the Inquisitors. She doubted such a thing would be allowed, but it was interesting nonetheless. She was finishing her tray when he announced to herself & Tatsumi about the situation at the camp. "We.... should wait, I think. Ms. Ibrahim will probably try to have us give up on asking anything..." she replied, waiting to see what Auroch would do.

[Kaori]

Professor Ibrahim sighed, The elf was acting like an arrogant prick and his students were being menaced by a Female Inquisitor, who just received back up from her boyfriend, he wonders whether the youth have any respect for their elders, Scarecrow entered the fray, with that lazy smile on his face he turned to Zorlo, and held him by the chin and said "Don't say another Goddamn word. Up until now, I've been polite. If you say anything else - word one - I will kill myself. And when my tainted spirit finds its destination, I will topple the master of that dark place. From my black throne, I will lash together a machine of bone and blood, and fueled by my hatred for you this fear engine will bore a hole between this world and that one. When it begins, you will hear the sound of children screaming - as though from a great distance. A smoking orb of nothing will grow above your bed, and from it will emerge a thousand starving crows. As I slip through the widening maw in my new form, you will catch only a glimpse of my radiance before you are incinerated. Then, as tears of bubbling pitch stream down my face, my dark work will begin. I will open one of my six mouths, and I will sing the song that ends the Earth.", Everybody stayed quite after that horrifying speech, then as if he had gone mad, he fired a grappling wire to the wall and another one at the parallel wall, then he proceeded to spin, the three girls who were tailing Wilbert clapped, same thing for the other Inquisitor's, he was impressing them with a parlor trick to lessen the tension, it mostly did its job, Soran was both amused and annoyed with what Scarecrow did though.

-Elsewhere-
Wilfried von Aichberger and his subordinate and childhood friend Sigelinde von Fahrenhorst, were overlooking a large area from a 60 meter high wall, the white line, the wall that separates them from a forest full of monsters, monsters that could kill a man instantly, they were getting aggressive lately, and Wilfried and his party were called to deal with the monsters, a horde was approaching, Wilfriede turned to an Inquisitor, their handler for the mission, The Inquisitor nodded at him with that, Wilfriede turned to his party and said "Sie sind das Essen und wir sind die Jäger!" and with that, they jumped down, however midway, Wilfried and Sigelinde used their magic to surround their bodies with raw mana, besides dampening the fall, it gave them 7 meter tall armor, referred to as a Knight, the concept was similar to a golem, but controlled directly by the sorcerer, with that they proceeded to slaughter the horde of monsters......

[Zorolo]

"For a human," Zorlo commented as he chuckled, "and for an Inquisitor, you aren't half bad," Zorlo stated as shifted and started walking off. "I was just trying to get the heat off those girls. After all, no sense in punishing people for being stupid. Sadly, they're too easily responsive to leadership to run the moment the person trying to arrest them is distracted. "Well, later," Zorlo said as he hopped off towards the nearest trees and vanished from high place to high place.

That had been entertaining... but it was a lot less fighting than Zorlo felt good about. "Well that was boring. Back to training I guess."

Auroch thought on this for a minute and shrugged. "Professor Ibrahim was the one who suggested that I ask an Inquisitor to find out about the Black Keys, so he might be agreeable. In the worst case he drags me away by the collar, which is pretty much what he'll have to do to stop me, and in the best case he comes with us to make sure we don't get killed for the sin of curiosity. I think the pros of going now outweigh the cons, besides if it's the former I can just come back at another time. So let's go!" As Auroch put his tray away the butterfly lifted off from his ear lead the way for Auroch and company.

"...Very well," was Kanna's only response as she followed suit before following after Auroch, almost forgetting that he stood a good amount shorter then the hetero-chromatic elven girl. Coming in at 5' 2", she didn't often come across other that were so much shorter the herself. "How far into the forest is the camp, Auroch...?" she as they left, headed toward their destination. She wasn't sure what was going to come of this, but she was more curious then worried about all this.

Ilfriede was walking along the corridor with Professor Ibrahim and her friends, he had a dissapointed look on his face, they were quite the whole way, till Ilfriede broke the silence, "I'm sorry for what happened Professor Ibrahim", "I won't scold you three, but that doesn't mean I'm letting you off, I'll be marking down your behavioral records,you three should know they are not like us, I don't know what the hell that knife ears was thinking trying to provoke them, let me tell you this; keep your distance from Scarecrow, he may not look it, but he's a demon, a wizard with those black keys, he's usually dispatched to take down the most powerful rogue sorcerers, there are rumors that he may not even be human, go to sleep, I'll be staying with them to prevent anymore unfortunate events", with that, Ilfriede and her friends returned to their rooms, Professor Ibrahim went back to Scarecrow's encampment.

"What's with the sleeping bag sir?" asked Wilbert as he noticed the brown skinned Sorcerer approaching with sleeping gear, "if you must know, it's to make sure you don't get bothered by any other students, Professor Soran Ibrahim", "Wilbert Davis Collins" with that they shook hands, they could tell that the other deserved respect, a girl came towards them, "Lilia Kjellberg" she said as she stuck her hand out, Soran shook her hand as well, out of the tent came Scarecrow, still smiling, he proceeded to give Soran a hug, after the hug though Soran bluntly asked, "My wallet?", with that Scarecrow pulled it out of his pants, Lilia and Wilbert Frowned at their boss's kleptomania.

[Zorolo]

(Hehe. Knife Ears. I didn't know Zorlo was a Dalish now. Need to get him some blood tattoos. )

Zorlo sat quietly in the tree and stared at the canopies above. Part of him wanted to go over to the Inquisitors and cause more trouble... part of him wanted to turn his sword on his professor. MOst of him just remained unmoving. IN all of his rage, he couldn't help the fact he was still trapped. This was his prison. HIs hell... and he'd made it that way for himself. He'd let the system run its course, and he'd found it wanting.

Why were Sorcerers made to answer to others... they had power enough to push others around, but few of the ones he had met had any talent for leading. Surely they wouldn't be stupid enough to try it... Many thoughts rushed through his head as he released another breath that quickly turned into steam. He needed to cool off...

WIth a quick step, he leapt off again. He needed to find some place to bathe too.

"Not far. Yoda not far." Auroch said with a laugh as they came upon the camp. He blinked at the sight before him. He knew one of the inquisitors, well not personally, he had never met him, but he didn't expect that one of the less than handful of inquisitors he could identify would be coming to the academy. The kleptomaniac. He waved and announced their presence, "Hey-o." Auroch sauntered forward, if there was danger, such as Lilia threatening him with a sword, he was either oblivious to or simply so focused on getting his answer that he just walked around it without acknowledging the threat. He pointed at Scarecrow while looking at his professor, "Klepto?" It was a mostly rhetorical question which he quickly moved past. "Hey, Inquisitor Mcleod, can you tell me how your Black Keys work? Your padawan was, apparently, in too much of a hurry to supply an answer when I asked him earlier. Or is it a trade secret that I would have to join the inquisitors to find out?"

Professor Ibrahim placed his palm on his face as another fool who thinks they can do whatever they please in front of an Inquisitor popped up, he was about to smack the boy on the head and drag him back to his room till Scarecrow came forward to answer the boy's question, "they stop the magic in one's body, and no you don't need to join us to find out, you may just have to ask politely" he replied, Soran however conjured up an axe using a rock he had in his palm, he was staring at Auroch while brandishing the axe in a menacing manner and had a look on his face that said, 'get the bloody hell out', "do you have any other questions?" asked Scarecrow as Soran was starting to get more annoyed with both of them.

(Peace, Da'len, I am of your people. The people of the Dales will rise again. ^_^)

Zorlo spun his sword before cutting down a tree. A deep breath filled filled his lungs as he sheathed the sword quietly and listened to the tree falling. "If a tree falls in the woods and only I hear it... does it make a sound?" he asked himself mostly with a chuckle. "I'm getting stronger... I'm getting there... but I need to keep training," he stated as he stepped backwards and drew his sword, trying to make sure he wasn't being watched. "Even if I were, I wouldn't know..." he stated as he rested against a tree. "How to become stronger... I have to overcome the Inquisitors... but how?"

"...Actually, I do..." came Kanna's quiet reply as she walked a little closer. Auroch's directness, combined with her lack of presence & quiet nature made her easy to overlook. Her gaze wandered to the axe in Soren's hand, but she wrote it off. It wasn't something that would be immediately threatening without enough warning to respond to it. "It's always been taught that a Black Key in you flesh stops you from casting. But... It's never documented what happened when a Black Key comes into contact with magic. Only Sorcerers and summoned creatures. Why is that...? What happens... if Key meets spell?" she asked, her soft, slightly halting voice making clear she probably rarely spoke long sentences or for long moments of time.

Tatsumi: ( he looks to notice the man brandishing an axe) uh-oh?...what's gotten him so angry? i get the feeling were really not welcome here...I'm uhh ( almost in response to Kannas question) I'm actually kind of curious about that myself? If you don't mind me asking?

"Ah such eager young minds, Soran put that axe away, it isn't bedtime yet" said Scarecrow, Soran just knew that Scarecrow is doing this to mock him, "you're gonna have to excuse my old flame, he kinda likes doing things rough, as for your question young lady, Sorcerers always excrete magic, but they have to focus it out of their bodies to use it, the black keys simply 'lock' it in their bodies, there have been nasty cases where Sorcerers explode from too much Mana in their bodies"he finished "now what was your question young man?" he said as he turned to tatsumi.

"old flame?!" thought Soran, "why did he have to say that out loud, it was bad enough I used to swing that way, but never again will I make love to another man, especially if said man likes using my **** a lot" he thought, he still kept his eyes on the students though despite Soran teaching them things.

[Zorolo]

"Wait, what?" Zorlo asked from a tree as he looked down. WHat he had just heard had literally rewritten everything he had known about humans... and things he wanted to know about these specific humans. Among elves, love was given freely, sure; but this? It was normal for Elves to have lovers of both genders... but was it normal for humans? From Ibraham's response, he somewhat doubted it. Was it... wrong for humans to do that?

In all of Zorlo's observations, he'd never actually noted anything on that subject... after all, humans were touchy about that stuff... as were most of the other elves here. "So wait," Zorlo asked abruptly, revealing his formerly concealed presence, "are you telling me that humans DON'T opt to be relatively indifferent with the gender of their mate?" Zorlo asked as he looked down at the group.

Auroch moved to the rear of the group, he had cast a spell to boost his powers of perception, knelt down, and was jotting things down in his book whilst he examined something. Offhandedly he stated, "Nobody important cares about that Professor Ibrahim." Zorlo popped in and he repeated, "Nobody important." After saying that, Auroch continued speaking though now it was quite rapidly, softly, and it was in the form of incantations instead of commentary.

The writings in the book were Auroch's attempts to formulate the construction of black keys; after a second take people would start to notice that at some point when the attention was off Auroch he had lifted a black key from one of the inquisitors and that is what he was examining. A quick check and it became apparent that it belonged to Wilbert, apparently Auroch was more inclined towards the better to ask forgiveness than permission line of thinking, that or the boy didn't think about silly things like how the consequences of his actions would affect him. There was also something black levitating in his peripheral vision approximately the same size as the black key but it's form was shadowy and fluctuating. Dozens of magical circles and symbols flew and whirred around the phantom blade; they appeared and disappeared nigh instantaneously, but occasionally one would stick and he would write it down.

Ilfriede was reading more on monsters when she heard a commotion coming from outside, she went out and saw her friend Wolfgang von Brauer talking to Luna and Helga, Wolfgang then saw Ilfriede and said, "Did you hear Ilfriede? Cerberus is recruiting Sorcerer's who pass the upcoming trials!", Ilfriede couldn't believe what she heard, Cerberus, the 44th Sorcerers Legion was a well respected and well known division of the Kingdom's army comprised exclusively of powerful Sorcerers, known legends include Wilfried von Aichberger, the Schwarzekonigwolf (Black king wolf), Sigelinde von Fahrenhorst ,the Weißwolf (White Wolf) and Gerhard von Ralerstein, the Red Baron, Ilfriede couldn't believe it, "I must pass the trials!" she said to herself with that she went to hit the books.

"why is this idiot acting so casual around them?" wondered Soran, he then noticed Auroch with a black key, he tapped Lilia and pointed at him, she then walked up to him, everybody's eyes were on Auroch now, but before anything could happen, they heard a shout, "Cerberus has returned!"

at the gates of the academy a dark skinned man was entering accompanied by others, he was Wilfried von Aichberger, following him were the rest of Cerberus, they had returned from a triumphant battle at the white line, "Wilfried! Over here!" said a Student as Wilfried waved at her, Ilfriede and her friends, Luna, Helga and Wolfgang were among those watching, the academy served as a training ground for all Sorcerers after all.

[Zorolo]

"My stooge sense... it tingles," Zorlo said as he heard the statement. "I had hoped to watch you people tear each other apart, but it seems that dream is what that hope shall remain. You shem have a good night, I'm going to go check on the new commotion," Zorlo stated as he stepped back just enough to get momentum to move from the branch he was perched upon to another high surface and start the chain of movement over again. It had helped him, more than once, escape pursuers here. Of... very rarely, multiple kinds.

Auroch didn't pay attention to what was going on around him until the cries of Cerberus's arrival. He discarded the in progress blade and flopped onto his back. "Oh goody, a bunch of combat junkies are here." He exhaled sarcastically as he looked up at Lilia. He blinked once and stated, "You're tall." Auroch flicked his hand and the black key slowly rose up off the ground, spinning lazily, and levitated back over to Wilbert as Auroch stared seemingly transfixed by something about Lilia. The blue circles and symbols sitting on the black irises around his retina indicated he still had some spell going.

Tatsumi: well it looks like my question will have to wait for later I'm going to hold you to it mister inquistor..( he looks at auroch) wait what do you mean combat junkies?....wait what's happening?! ( he looks around) Is someone here...??

"'Cerberus has returned!'" Auroch quoted and then explained. "They are the 44th sorcerers legion. Lots of star power. As was stated in last month's paper. Ahem. The Schwarzekonigwolf, Wilfried von Aichberger, is leading Cerberus to the White Line..." Auroch continued to recite the news article about Cerberus which detailed some of their exploits unless stopped. And he did this while he maintained an unblinking stare at Lilia. The recitation was fairly standard fare for Auroch the staring not so much. He only spent that much time focused on a single thing if he was reading it, testing it, or attempting to glean something through examination and people had never been that interesting to him.
