Can we really be heroes? (a Legend of Zelda RP)

[Furie]

The small girl sat cross legged on the floor before him.

"There are more of us. They've been watching us. You'll see them as your wander our village, though, if you hadn't been seen with me, you could wander this village for days and never find a single one." Remembering he'd asked two questions, she added. "This is Kokiri Village. And you're the first adult to ever make it here safely..."

The girl tensed a little, and a small green fairy flew out of her clothes. The fairy nuzzled the girl, who's eyes were glittering with newly formed tears.

[Giegue]

"I'd bet..." Lind said, releasing her captive. Len flew around, holding her head, trying to stop the shaking. "Oh no..." Whether her response was toward Nik or not was made apparent when the small fairy flew toward Lind. "They don't mean it like that!" Len said, waving her hands infront of Lind. "Shut up..." Lind's eyes were locked with Nali's, each one ready to strike the other down if necessary.

"You're either brave or stupid, little girl." Lind smirked as she loosened her hands from her sword. "I'll let you fall to King Ganondorf. I'll even lead you right to him. Well, I would, if I knew where he was..." Lind looked towards Len. "You should follow her anyway! A woman shouldn't travel all by her lonesome." Len smiled at Nali, admiring her beauty. "Such a beautiful girl like yourself should travel with us."

Matthew: ( he looks at saria for a moment)


Til: yeah another fairy!! ( she flies of over to sarias Fairy)

Matthew: calm do- ( he rubs his head) what's the point in even telling you...( he looks back at saria) I'm the first adult wait you mean your all kids. Here? "safely"? ahh sorry I don't want to seem rude asking with all these questions just what in the world a village only inhabited by kids? ah umm thank you for the hospitality ( he bows respectfully)

[Furie]

When the gerudo woman mentioned bringing her to Ganondorf, Alina jumped back, drawing and brandishing her brilliant white sword. She relaxed a little when the woman said she didn't know where that monster was, and a little more when the fairy spoke again. Alina looked to Nik, who was fluttering uselessly, and then her sharp eyes landed on Lind, and finally returned to Len. "How can I trust you to travel with me when she threatens me so?"

Saria didn't seem surprised with the man's questions. Her eyes locked on him, an eerie maturity in them.

"We aren't exactly... children. We are the Kokiri. We do not age, thanks to the power of the Great Deku Tree- or, at least... we didn't. We don't know what will happen to us now, with the Great Deku Tree dead. He was our father, and he protected us and the forest. The fact that you made your way here is proof that that power is fading or gone..."

She looked to the side, thinking, and said quietly to herself, "I hope Link comes back soon... he'd know what to do..."

[Giegue]

Lind sucked in her teeth and spit on the ground, turning her back toward the hylian. Len fluttered between the two, and bit her thumb unsure of how to bridge the two. "You promised Lind! You promised you would take heed! You promised you would be a hero! Here's your maiden!" Len said, tears welling up in her eyes. Lind bit her lip and turned to the fairy behind her. "I. Am. A. Girl." Lind said, stomping, digging her heels into the ground, "Not a man. I am a woman. These fantasies you have are not for me!" Lind spoke, her hand outstretched toward her partner.

"I'm not a killer. I'm a thief, and I'll steal even the stars from the sky. A life, however will not be stolen using these hands." Lind bowed before the hylian, "My name is Lind, and for the sake of my sanity, I will follow this idiot's request." Lind bit her lip until she drew blood.

[Furie]

Alina watched the gerudo, confusion growing on her face. It seems this woman has more issues than I'd thought. I wonder... "Ganondorf... well... when he attacked the castle, he wasn't alone. Your people were fighting with him and... not that I hear you speak those words..." her face because serenely sad, like a mourning angel. "I can remember the looks on their faces. They looked... like puppets, their expressions blank as they cut a bloody path to our king.

Only that dreadful man seemed happy."

She covered her mouth shyly. "Sorry, I know he's your king, but the things he did... I'll never forget, and I'll never forgive."

Matthew: ( he looked at the girl peculiarly) you don't age huh?...seriously? Well I guess that exPlains why it doesn't feel like I'm talking with a kid I remember reading a story about some great tree and children who never seemed to age I mean I always just thought it was some story the deku tree wait Link? I'm sorry but would you mind telling me Abit more

[Furie]

The girl nods solemnly. "Link is the only Kokiri to ever leave the forest. We were always told by our guardian that we would die if we left the forest..." She looks up at him sadly. "But he didn't. I know, because I used to speak to him using the magic of my song and..." she reached into her pocket, and pulled out a small, clay instrument. It looked like an egg shaped flute. "...my ocarina. However, I haven't been able to talk to him for some time now. When I play my music now, the notes just echo and fade. Something happened to him."

She looked down to the floor, swaying slightly. "And now the air of the forest twitches- almost like the trees themselves fear something that I don't even know. The unrest is most easily felt in the grove where we met, and it feels as though its coming from the temple."

Til: hey. Matt...

Matthew:I'm sorry.... But umm miss can you take me to this temple? Til here brought me here for a reason she hasent really elaborated that much to me but-

Til: we'll go check things out! We may be outsiders but I think this is why we came here!

[Furie]

Saria perked, a sense of rightness flowing through her. She looked up at them determinedly. "If I bring you to the temple, will you help me explore it? I've had a feeling that there's something I need to do in there, but the evil I sense is much too powerful for me to face alone."

Matthew: but it's danger-

Til: of course we will Matthew here is a lot tougher then he looks I know surprising right he was actually once a-

Matthew: ( he catches her in his hands) fine yeah let's go..

[Furie]

Saria smiled and grabbed his hand. "Alight, follow me!" She lead him out the door, and back toward the lost woods.

They stood in the grove, upon a giant stone tablet engraved with the Royal Hylian Crest, the image of the Trifoce at its center. Saria didn't know what the symbol was, but knew that it emitted a warm feeling of hope when she saw it.

The two of them looked up at the entrance of the temple, which was high above on the top edge of a long broken stone stair case. There was no way they'd get up there by walking. A tree, long dead, grew beside it, its branches hanging limply over the platform.

The small girl looked up at the man. "How do we get up there?"

Matthew: hmmm I have an idea ( he looks around) hOld on ( he picks her up onto his bag piggy back style as runs and jumps and he manages to climb up the tree as he jumPs onto the platform deftly) allright you okay?..( he sets her down) how was that?

Til: I still can't believe you can do things like that..

Matthew: a tree is simple ( he looks at the temple) so you sure you still want to come with us?

[Giegue]

Lind turned her back on the hylian, "I've already heard the rumors princess. But our King isn't like that!" Len flew between the two and covered Lind's mouth. "She says she's sorry you feel that way!" Lind caught Len in her hands. "Listen here Lind, you will follow this lovely girl, and you will cater to her little whims or so help me, I will make your life miserable."

Lind released a sigh. "You win..." Lind said, running her fingers through her hair.

[Furie]

Alina sheathed her weapon, murmuring, "I hope you see him for what he really is sooner than later." And then straightened. "Well, I believe we should continue to make our way to the forest. Come with me if you choose, or don't." She continued along the path, not waiting for a reply, Nik hovering by her shoulder and looking back at the pair.

Saria whooped as they flew through the air and up the tree. It was an unusual sensation for her. When he placed her down, Saria looked up at Matthew, seeing him in a new and more heroic light. She smiled pressing a hand to her chest to still her fluttering heart.

"Yes. Let's find the source of evil and rid it from my home!"

Matthew: ( he looks at saria) you got it!

Til: yeah just leave it to me and Matthew

Matthew: oh and what are you gonna do?

Til: improvised distraction!

Matthew: (he makes a torch as he lights it) hmmm its Abit dark I mean we can still see but this makes it mor convenient ( as soon as he steps in he feels the evil energy) Let's try not to get separated okay ( he looks at saria)

[Furie]

And into the dark they went.

After a short walk through a pitch black tunnel, they came to another clearing. The trees were so numerous and the canopy of leaves so dense that not a single ray of sunlight fell on this place. The air was heavy, and only stirred with their movement. Before them stood a high wall with an elaborate entrance made of stone, though vines heavily coursed through the stones like thick veins. On either side of the clearing stood two mighty trees whose upper branches formed an arch over the entirety of the clearing.

"Looks like this is it..." Saria said tentatively. She took a cautious step forward, and another, and- "Aaaahhh!"

Two wolves sprang from the shadows and descended on the girl.

Matthew: almost in a flash he brandished two of his daggers as he dashed infront of saria as he has the Wolfe oncoming attack he looks up at the Wolfe meeting their hungry gaze Matthews eyes seem different not of the eyes of the spoofs prey but they are the eyes of a predator sizing up it's prey) haaaah! ( he knocks the Wolfe back as they slowly back away from him) ( he glances over to saria) you have to be more careful ( he smiles but he the focuses on the works as they continue to back away)

[Furie]

Saria nods, and heads over to the door. She pulls on the handle.

Nothing.

She pulls again. Harder this time.

It still doesn't budge.

"Looks like it's locked." The girl looked up to her fairy, who had spoken for the first time since Matthew encountered Saria. "There has to be a key around somewhere."

Saria nods, and jumps from the stairs, her head bowed and eyes scanning the forest floor. As the searches, a gleam up in the branches of the trees catches Til's eye.

Til: ahh over there!

Matthew: Til?

Til: ( she flies over to where she sees the gleam from the tree) hey look I think I found a key!! ( she flies back over to saria she's Abit ruffles and has a few leaves sticker to her) here is this it?!
