The Phantom Pain

Post by Kaori »

Made by a studio that started two weeks ago before this was released? And how come I've never heard of "Moby Dick studio" till now? Something's fishy here....

After a 15 minute google research, i can confirm this is a new Metal Gear Solid game, or AT LEAST, a new project by Kojima, being shown to the public in a very bizarre, mysterious, unique, and HEAVILY amusing way, like only Kojima himself could've thought of D8

To prove it, here's some stuff:

First, this is from the "About Us" from the Moby Dick page
Moby Dick Studio is a game developing company operating out of Stockholm, Sweden. Moby Dick Studio was founded by CEO Joakim Mogren who after years of working for a major American developer brought together people out of various game studios from around the Scandinavian area to start something new.
And as i quote from another site, ""Joakim" is a rearranged spelling of "Kojima". "Mogren" can derivate from "ogre", as in "Project Ogre", a game Kojima announced that is supposed to be different from other MGS games, and it'll have an Open World design.

Then, there's some clues left in the video, this one being the most important and revealing one, in my opinion:

And if that doesn't convince you, if all this information is merely subjective for you, and you REALLY need an obvious, solid and convincing proof that Joakim Mogren is not Kojima in disguise, well, here is the official account for Joakim N. Mogren:
https://twitter.com/JNMogren
(Still wondering what that N means)

SERIOUSLY, if that face doesn't convince you, NOTHING WILL
Image
He's totally pulling off a Liquid Snake there. And he's doing it very good too.
And he just had to add the "NOT Kojima" for the lulz, and to prove how much fun he's having out of all of this.

And if you want EVEN MORE proof, then well, the trailers (yes, there's two...just a slightly different version of the first though) are FULL of clues and messages, that many people have begun to discover, such like the face of the doctor being too similar to a certain face in Metal Gear 2 (not Solid, just MG), or the white petals flying around the main character, who has a VERY familiar mullet and face. You can browse around the comments in this site and enjoy:

Now, back at the trailer...it's creepy, mysterious, BIZARRE AS FUCK, and i LOVE it already. I don't know what the hell is going on, but i can't wait to see more about it, and all of my interest now belongs to this project.
Can't wait to see an interview with Joakim, too. I laughed my ass off when i saw his picture, and i just would LOVE to hear him talk with a swedish accent XDD And i don't even know how a swedish accent is like!!

Fucking Kojima, you're a fucking genious, you fucking know it and you fucking love to have fun with that D8

I for one look forward to this game totally unrelated to Metal Gear that has lots of realtime cutscenes, first person tunnel/under-bed crawling, and inching your character emotionally and dramatically forward like Old Snake at the end of MGS4. Joakim clearly isn't Kojima, it even says so on his Twitter. Give the Swedes a break already!!!

The only thing I could really relate MSG in that trailer was the character looking like Snake (Only with a hook hand). If that's going to be a spin off of MSG then I can't wait for ot to come out. Wow, just, wow. It's demonic, twisted, and very un-Metal Gear Solid like. I want to play it just to see how things turn out.

We actually have no idea of what this game will be about. Whether it'll be a spin off, a game directly related to the MGS story, if that character we saw is Big Boss/Solid Snake/someone else, or even if this game will actually have the name "Metal Gear Solid V" once it officially comes out. Same with the Joakim Mogren and Moby Dick Studios thing...i wonder if they'll actually keep that whole thing up until the end, and when we play the game we'll only see those names and NO mention of Kojima Productions or Hideo Kojima whatsoever. Though probably they really will, since apparently Kojima isn't doing this just for lulz...after MGS: Rising Revengeance he can't just exactly use Kojima Productions to make any MGS game he wants, because of something involving Intellectual Properties and stuff, so he's using a different name, a different company, and a different game project to make the MGS game he wants to make, totally cheating the rules in a very intelligent and fun way. Not sure if that's really true or not, but if it is, then Kojima is freaking awesome, and no other game director/developer would ever attempt to do that XD lol

As of how the trailer looks all demonic and creepy, i'm sure they were all very specific scenes to make us think of this game as something completely different from MGS, while leaving certain clues that this is indeed MGS...so, all we saw and all we can think about that could be entirely different to what the game will be really about. There's also some clues that the character is "dreaming", with those "wake up" messages and how he believes he might be in hell. That completely reminds me to the battle against The Sorrow, and the vampire hunter nightmare, both experienced by Big Boss in MGS3. There's also some pills flying all over at the beginning of the trailer, so that could be a hint that this isn't just some crazy random nap, but the character has been drugged with one of the most psychedelic things ever, so much he even sees flying whales and stuff D: lol

It really isn't that different. The main character gets captured or has to endure some sort of unarmed psychological escape level in every game since Metal Gear 2 (Maybe 1, I can't remember). There's so much crawling and ambient music that even if no one in the trailer looked like anyone from Metal Gear, it would still be obvious what's going on here.

This is going to be Metal Gear Solid V and it's going to be a Kojima Productions game, I can tell you that much. I don't really know why though, apparently Kojima has some sort of addiction and can't stop making more Metal Gears. I wouldn't be 100% certain he's directing, or the only director, yet though. But his company has a lot of issues without him, so probably.

OMG WHO WOULD'VE GUESSED THAT!?!?! O_______O;;;

But srsly, where does that pic come from?
And does that mean they're ready to announce Metal Gear Solid V for real?
Maybe it'll be announced on the E3, which is in about 2 months D:
