I need your help to pick my next computer if you dont mind!
I plan to buy it from bestbuy.com
My budget is $1,000
Hardrive space is not important to me at all,
I just need a computer that can handle my graphics and mulitasking...
I play videogames on my computer and also have a bunch of youtube webpages open, two MSNs and facebook flash games too!
Oh and photoshop!
So I need a computer that is good for gaming, graphics and multitasking xP
I prefer to pick an All-in-one!
I know how to understand most computer specs I just have trouble with the processors

Re: Help me pick my next computer!
Do i have to re-type my answer here? XD
Anyways, maybe others will agree or disagree, but i say that the best option is a Dell or Toshiba with Core i7. It's perfect for what you ask for...multiple programs used at once, including documents, messaging applications, web browsers with applications running in them, editing programs, MMO's and even Minecraft if you feel like it (a game which usually takes up a lot of memory).
I have a Dell Inspiron with Core i5 and it's been so perfect for all that and more. Sure, it might not be THE best for gaming, or THE best for web browsing, but it IS the best to do all those things at once without any problem. And you can easily find a computer with i7 at around $800 or so, so it's perfect for your budget as well :3
And of course, also look for having at least 4GB of RAM...though pretty much all new computers come with that, especially if it's i7. Same with HDD space, being at around 500GB.

There is no use moving back, you can't trace back your path

Re: Help me pick my next computer!
Its ALWAYS more cost effective to build it yourself. And you can look up a youtube video on how to put it together with your old comp.
Also, I STILL say any computer running Vista or W7 is just a waste of space. XP does EVERYTHING I need it to, and even things the other 2 can't. Even after trying W7 Ultimate, I switched back after noticing a few problems on top of the things it couldn't do that I used to do all the time!
Anyway, I'm not much help here, all I can say is: Prebuilt P.O.S. PCs tend to get viruses quickly, and are filled with TONS of bloatware, yet cost 2x as much as they're worth.

Re: Help me pick my next computer!
Any HDD with more than 500GB and a i7 Intel Core Processor is a must.
Re: Help me pick my next computer!
Must agree, my 160GB SATA HDD from 2004 just isn't cutting it anymore. The i7 though, not so much. Intel's way too expensive for cores of equal performance with AMD, and AMD ones work better with custom PCs because of the gfx card compatibility.

Either AMD or Intel, they both work.Erranty wrote:Must agree, my 160GB SATA HDD from 2004 just isn't cutting it anymore. The i7 though, not so much. Intel's way too expensive for cores of equal performance with AMD, and AMD ones work better with custom PCs because of the gfx card compatibility.

Re: Help me pick my next computer!
I'll make it simple.... Dual core 2.0 or higher, and buy it a Graphic card of 3.0 of higher (if it doesn't has one) and buy sum more memory when it needs it, like 5 GBs more or so....
No one can escape time, it delivers us all to the same end. You can't plug your ears and cover your eyes.

This one's worth it for the price, though I still hate windows 7.

i7 Cores work great; I have one in my desktop compy, and everything's smooth and quick. Got mine for about $950, tax included.
Of course a good graphic card, good size RAM and HDD space aren't all bad either. 4GB RAM and 500GB of HDD space should be enough.

Actually I'd argue that 500GB isn't enough. My 1TB external only has 339GB left on it because I keep downloading series in higher quality than most DVDs. If you're a high quality music person then FLAC format takes up so much space you'll be pressed to get a 1TB AT LEAST.Oxidizer wrote:i7 Cores work great; I have one in my desktop compy, and everything's smooth and quick. Re: Help me pick my next computer!
I don't really bother with FLAC tbh, I usually go for 320kbps MP3s. If I want anything lossless, I'll just pop a CD in and listen to it from there.
But you do raise a good point.
