Sadly Reality

Post by Admilu »

(Been a long time since I have been on here, but school is over for the year so I am back :D)

The situation: The date is XX/XX/2015

"All of those crazy madmen making predictions about the end of the world? Well, they were wrong. The world just sort of - turned on a few lights. Our sky changed from blue to pure white in the day and pure black at night. At first we tried sending a few probes out there, but every time they reached the hemisphere, they ceased communications. Civilization marched on though. Then people began stealing. Sure, nothing new there. But they were doing it without opening doors, breaking locks or smashing windows. Other people could light fires without matches. People began calling them the 'first kind'. They had unexplainable powers. Governments ran experiments, but refused to release details. They began apprehending the first kind, but we were too powerful. So they synthetically created their own soldiers with powers from the research on the first kind. The 'second kind' was born. The streets were only safe if you were 'normal'. Most people either ran away, or hid their powers. That is, until the 'third kind' showed up. No one knows whether they are mutated first kinds or failed second kinds, but they sure as hell aren't helping us or the government. Yeah, it's a three way war and sadly, its reality."

OOC: So that is that. You can have two characters, each can be either a first kind, second kind or ordinary citizen, but they need to be on the side of the first kind or second kind. The goals of the role play are going to start off as survival, you are being chased by a first, second or third kind and manage to defend yourself. You look for a shelter, allies what ever you feel your character needs. Soon after, one of my characters will pay you a visit and the goals will progressively reveal themselves (eg. So-en-so warns you there will be a raid in three minutes, you can stay or fight, but he is running to a safer location and thinks you should join him).

Rules:
-General rules
-Semi-literate to literate writing styles only
-Minimum of one character, maximum of two, you can make temporary thirds, but they need to disappear after about five posts
-All powers drain the individual's energy (try to be fair with this ie. do not have one character able to blow up a building, but only need to eat an apple to regain the energy)
-Exceptions are possible if they seem fair (or super cool), PM me
-Monsters (third kind) will be listed
-Each character can have a maximum of three powers (powers can develop and/or be revealed throughout the role play)

First kind powers:
-Telekinesis
-Electrokinesis
-Pyrokinesis
-Aerokinesis
-Accelerated healing (50 times ordinary speed, therefore most means of killing still work)
-Bone manipulation (like Spike from Xmen)
-Wall crawling
-Empathy
-Telepathy
-Elemental transmutation (similar to alchemy in full metal alchemist)
-Phasing (walk through stuff)
-Energy blasts (each blast is as powerful as shotgun propelled bean bag)
-Forcefield generation (forcefields are as strong as 2 inch thick steal)
-Teleportation (maximum displacement of 100 metres per jump)
-Superhuman strength (maximum of three times ordinary human strength)

Make requests if there is something specific you want, no guarantee it will be granted (may be granted mid way through the role play though).

Second kind powers:
-Telekinesis
-Pyrokinesis
-Accelerated healing (30 times ordinary speed)
-Elemental transmutation (similar to alchemy in full metal alchemist)
-Energy blasts (as powerful as a bullet from a handgun)
-Superhuman strength (maximum of two times ordinary human strength)
-Power augmentation (ability to weaken or enhance the powers of others, maximum of doubling or halving power strength)
-Power sensing (within the vicinity of 500 metres)
-Acid generation
-Duplication (maximum of three duplications)
-Physical mutations (permanent physical mutations like wings, claws or tails)

Normals:
-Martial arts
-Weapons

Third kind monsters:

-Cutlass

Image

Height: 2 Meters
Average IQ: 45
Information: Just like an ordinary poisonous spider... only giant... and with razour sharp feet.

-More will be revealed

Character sheets:

Name: (Can be a code name the character made up)
Age: (16-50)
Kind: (First, second or normal)
Powers: (If normal, just general fighting skills)
Background information: (Including when they found out about their powers, where they are now and how they ended up there et cetera)
Personality: (Can be combined with their back ground information, just a bit about what they are like)
Image: (Describe or link a picture)

Mine:
Name: Jason
Age: 19
Kind: First
Powers: Electrokinesis
Background information: Currently running from a Cutlass. Jason had adapted to the new world with every change that had occurred. Not much affected him or his plans of gaining the greatest knowledge man can achieve. When the sky lost its colour, he picked what university he was interested in. When his neighbor burned himself to death, Jason felt mildly worried about his own house catching fire. When the government revealed the new 'K2 unit' (second kind) he graduated high school early and began university life. It wasn't until he was attacked by a Cutlass that his life injected some real emotion into his skull. A K2 unit was nearby and attempted to burn the Cutlass to death. This only made it a deadly mutant bent on killing that was also really hot. Jason's power manifested. He fried the spider without meaning to. When the K2 officer looked at Jason and reached for his tranquilizer gun, Jason screamed and subsequently, accidentally, killed the officer. He began running, spending the next year on the streets evading second and third kind. Now, he found himself running from three Cutless, and he was approaching a dead end.
Personality: A little emotionless at times, still intent on gaining some 'ultimate knowledge', not too sociable.

Second character still to come.

Name: Zorlo
Age: 23
Kind: First
Power: Aerokinesis
Background Information: As far as Zorlo knew, up until the birth of powers of the First Kind developed within him, he was always a person that loved extravagant things. He was a person who enjoyed plays and acting in general. It wasn't until the world changed that he began to transform into the people he played. Through luck, and a bit of a gambit, he acquired a Meitou, a named sword, in the form of a long sword given to him by an interesting trader. The sword, Galantine, was impressive, but distinctly non-magical.

Even so, it was his virtue in sword training that allowed his Aerokinesis to take a more natural form. When attempting to shake Second Kind hunters, he developed his special attack, "Wind Scythe." The wind scythe is a technique that, by shifting his sword back and forth in his hand, builds up wind around the blade so when it cuts, the edged wind is projected forwards to slice through the target, be it tree or man. This skill incurs strong strain upon Zorlo, allowing him to only be able to use it if he has his sword (or a sword logically) and at a maximum number use of three times per hour, each one being more straining than the last.

The second power he developed was a power more meant for dealing with normal people and creating chaos. A miniature typhoon created from shaking his index and middle fingers side-to-side quickly before tossing the wind forwards so that it spirals. This is used mostly to deal with minor projectiles or creating disturbances in movement, namely unbalancing foes. This skill creates further strain on the body, and can only be used once every hour, and only if Wind Scythe hasn't been used within that hour.

At this point, Zorlo is hiding out in an abandoned city. Between the pursuing Second Kind and the Cutlass he has heard word of appearing, he has started his move elsewhere, looking for allies or anything that won't turn on him. As of yet, his only companion is his sword.

Personality: A man of many words and a true performer through and through, Zorlo's charisma is almost an unmatched trait of his. He could rouse the dead with his speeches, or so they say. A man of dealing with people, his only major shortcoming is his immense pride and sense of dutiful honor to what is right and just. At times, it is easy to mistake him for some kind of knight fro the dark ages or a lame hero from a movie, but deep within his heart, he truly seeks to see an end to the fighting so that the world stage can refocus on healing gouged into humanity from the onset of the end of the world.

ALthough as far as the world stage concerns him, Zorlo sees only the main stage now, and that is the stage of war he stands up, drawing his sword and rushing forwards into. His hopes are to find those who can stand by him and join forces to fight against this new world and the terrors being born of it.

Name: Kurushimi
Age: 16
Kind: First
Powers: Telepathy, Teleportation, and Telekinesis in order of most to least used ability.

Background information: Kurushimi was really just an average, reclusive girl that liked to read and cared little of what happened in the world. In truth, she likely would have simply shrugged off learning able her abilities if the situations had allowed her to. Her first power manifested itself in the local Library when she was thirteen where a newly awakened and out-of-control Pyrokinesist caused a massive conflagration that killed many and nearly her as well. Though hazy, the last thing she could remember was a dizzying feeling before hitting the pavement outside, where she'd inadvertently teleported to in her will to 'get outside', earning her much attention.
About a year and a half or so later, she discovered her other powers. Namely, a fight between two Thirds and several Seconds that destroyed her neighborhood, her Telekinesis being what saved her long enough to teleport to safety. Her mother and brother, however weren't so lucky. It took her a while before she calmed enough to 'hear' the mental voices of her family, but what greeted her when she found them was anything but heartwarming. It's also about that time that she learned that a disaster area is the last place an inexperienced Telepath wants to be. It nearly overwhelmed her to hear the pleas and anguish of so many people. Strong arms grabbed and shook her hard before she realized that at some point, she'd started screaming. It was the Surviving Seconds, but all she could hear were their minds, "Oh, she must've snapped...boohoo..." "We should just put her out of her misery. One more dead won't make a difference here anyway..." "Ughh... I wonder if I'd get in trouble if I tore out her throat...?" It was all she could take; she blacked out then. The next she could remember, she was covered in blood from the Seconds she'd killed, the last one hesitant to approach her. It only took a moment to hear the remaining Second confirm it, she killed them. And so she fled and has been running since. As of now, she trying to evade a team of three Seconds attempting to capture or kill her as a potential threat.

Personality: A relatively anti-social and quiet girl that for some reason won't speak verbally. Though cold, she isn't hateful per se and will help if asked to usually. The trauma of her past causes her moments of emotional and/or mental instability.
Image: http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h238/ ... bb2026.jpg

Name: Mariya Clemente
Age: 27
Kind: First
Powers: Forcefield generation and...
~Materialization: The power to effectively will into creation, virtually any object that Mariya can conceptualize in her mind from paper and ceramic to swords and bows to cloth and clothing. The more complex the make-up or composition of the object, the harder it is and longer it takes to materialize and the more likely it is to just not function in the first place though she can lessen this chance through better understanding of said object. As they're created from nothing, they almost immediately return to nothing once they leave her hands unless she expends the energy to maintain it from a distance. Hasty Materialization and Materializations while weak tend to result in objects of lesser quality.

Background information: An Ancient Weapons & Fighting fan, Mariya was little more than an ordinary, if older then usual, college student. Though unsure as to when it awakened, it was a number of years ago that she first discovered her power of Materialization. She was 24 at the time. It was during a reenactment of an anime battle scene with her friend between two fighters that could create weapons from their minds. On cue, her prop weapons broke in a passing clash, but as into character as was, she simply for got to pull the next prop 'blades' from her belt as she turned and swung, getting started yelp from her friend as she sliced her arm. It was enough to jar her back to reality, where everyone, including herself, was staring at the real twin swords in her hands. They all had heard about people that getting strange powers and so while startling, they all just kinda accepted it and moved on. Later, while trying to see if she could materialize a shield, she discovered her could, or rather, she could generate forcefields.
For a good while, nothing really happened with her. She worked, trained with her materializations, went to school. A good life in all. No one outside of her close friends knew her secret, so she was relatively safe for quite some time. Her downfall was simple "wrong place, wrong time". Mariya had the misfortune of running into and being attacked by a Third that was being tracked by a Second that witnessed her manage to fight off the Third on her own and reported it. Though She managed to fight him off as well, it was too late to stop from being marked as a 'rouge First Kind'. So she's been running since. Currently she's doing her best to convince a Cutless that she doesn't taste good.

Personality: Though usually kind and willing to help, Mariya is rather secretive when it come to information and usually requires information in exchange to learn anything from her.

You are certainly welcome to. PM me a character profile (in my first post of this thread I left a template) and then you can just wait for everyone to put in a post so that you get the idea.

Name: Cain 006
Age: 22
Kind: First and Second
Powers: Augmented Accelerated Healing ( First kind Accelerated Healing augmented through experimentation to 100x the normal human rate), Super Strength (2nd), and Elemental Transmutation (2nd).
Background information: Cain was one of the first of the "second" kind. In reality he is a first kind who has undergone extensive treatment. They designated the project of turning First kinds into super soldiers to fight First kinds project Cain. Hence the name and numerical designation. Only a handful of test subjects survived the "conversion", but the results were spectacular and so they decided not to continue the project. His abilities were recognized after recovering from numerous sports related injuries and he got picked up at a young age. He was part of the team that tried to capture Jason.
Personality: He likes a good joke and is nice once you earn his trust. Until then he is gruff and matter of fact.
Image: http://www.deviantart.com/download/6980 ... rremy7.jpg
Current Situation: He lost his entire unit to a third kind ambush. In addition to a pack of cutlasses there was an apparently smart third kind leading the pack. At the moment he's hiding out in an abandoned motel room, lying low and waiting for his injuries to recover. During his recovery he's noticed certain details about the mission that are making him question his loyalties.

"In Brightest Day In Blackest Night
No Evil Shall Escape My Sight
Let Those Who Worship Evil's Might
Beware My Power Green Lantern's Light!"

Name: Aragorn Anderson "Green Lantern"
Age: 20
Kind: First
Powers: All of his abilities appear in the form of luminescent green energy.
Forcefield Generation
Energy Blasts
Constructs: This one is kind of the key to the whole Green Lantern bit. What limits do you think are appropriate?
Background Information: A nerd who's the son of nerds. He grew up around renaissance fairs and learned how to fight in order to take part in the jousts. The first power he realized was the forcefields, when he saw someone getting bullied, nobody knew he was the one who did it at the time though and it didn't happen again for some time. The energy blasts he realized when someone tried to mug him. The first construct he created was when he was attacked by a cutlass, he made a knight and had him run the beast down.
Personality: He's a friendly guy albeit a bit naive. But he gets himself in over his head sometimes because he keeps to the code of Babylon 5's rangers. "We are rangers. We walk in the dark places no others will enter. We do not break away from combat. We stand on the bridge and no one may pass. We do not retreat whatever the reason. We live for the one. We die for the one."

OOC: Alright, I would say that is enough to begin. More are welcome though.

Jason stepped back, narrowly avoiding a Cutlass claw bent on tearing his face off.

"I already told you," he said with malice, "you're not. My type!"

Jason stepped in close and punched the Cutlass on one of its orange eyes sending it writhing backward. He pointed his hand at the spider shaped like a gun and lowered his thumb.

"Bang." A thick stream of electricity burst forth from his index finger and ran into the Cutlass' fangs, electrocuting the creature.

"Guess next time you'll handle rejection better," Jason said and shrugged. He peered around at his environment. Night consumed all natural light, not that the daylight had been natural for a few years anyway. Fortunately, fires were lit in several metal canisters littered about the rubble of a long abandoned city. On top of them, several uncontrolled fires had broken out from exploding vehicles, probably caused by thugs taking advantage of anyone stupid enough to escape to the city. For a moment, Jason felt an onlooker's presence. He spun around, black trench coat flicking through the smoke, hands open ready to fire at full blast.

"Oh," he lowered his hands and took on a non-chalant pose, "it's just you. You had me worried for a second there, I thought- nah, who cares what I thought. You probably can't understand me anyway."

He smirked at the once again approaching Cutlass. "You're more persistent than some of the girls I refused in college," he dodged another swipe at his face, "and that's saying something."

Little did Jason know, that there had indeed been an observer. One not consisting of eight furry and sharp legs that is. A hooded figure embracing the shadows, took note of Jason's talents without budging a single centimetre as a large Cutlass stalked past him, attracted to the fight. Jason noticed the new Cutlass as it reached a distance of twenty metres. Then he glanced around at the other three that had taken this chance to surround him.

"Huh..." he said. "Crap."

The Cutlass' converged on Jason, who, through a series of intricate maneuvers, managed to avoid seven sharp spider legs and a couple of poison laden fangs nipping at his neck. He found him self in a crouching position surrounded by metal spikes about to relaunched. He gripped two, a stupid mistake as this cut his hands, and send waves of excited particles through them. This forced two Cutlass to back off temporarily, giving Jason enough of a gap to slide under a third and out of the circle. He bolted, not fully knowing where he intended to go. Cutlass had a terrain advantage just about anywhere. Just about. Jason shot around a corner, five Cutlass mere metres behind.

OOC: New Character:

Name: Unknown (Will be revealed later)
Age: Mid twenties.
Kind: Unknown (Will be revealed later)
Powers: Unknown (Will be revealed later)
Background information: First introduced as a hooded figure spying on Jason. More expected to be revealed as time goes on.
Personality: Quiet, likes to keep to himself.
Image: A male standing approximately six feet tall. His permanently adorned cloak and hood never reveal more facial features than his unclean, black stubble and strong set jaw.

Cain peared out from behind a curtain into the black, and then removed his sunglasses. It had been light when he had succumbed to sleep. Shouting and crashing had woken him not 30 seconds ago. He noted the distinctive flare of light that emanates from the crackling electricity of a first kinder. The same kind of power that killed his commanding officer once and burned the image of that power in action into his brain. And so he had a special spot for those who used it, like 002.

Are you the one? He asked himself and left the room, closing the door quietly behind him. Cain trotted towards the source of the light. Whoever was putting on the light show was clearly in a fight, otherwise only an idiot would let their position be known like that. Or a crafty devil laying a trap, regardless his curiosity overcame his caution and as he rounded a corner he ran right smack dab into Jason. Instinctively he grabbed the young man and threw him to the ground. As the cutlasses came into view he grunted an apology, "Sorry."

He threw the kid at the wall across the street, a line of blue light raced Jason to the wall and turned it into a relatively cushy mud consistency with his Elemental Transmutation. Normally he would have been able to do that and then use it to throw the oncoming spider, but he had forgotten about his earlier injuries and so he got a bladed claw into his shoulder. That's annoying. I was hoping to be able to head out of here by morning. A wall of concrete spikes closed the gap in the street and cut the giant arachnid in half. That might buy ten seconds. Probably less. The effort forced Cain to a knee and he put a hand to his shoulder as he looked towards Jason and asked, "You run?" He was about ready to start running himself and probably should have, but he had lost enough people in the past 24 hours already, he wasn't about to lose someone else if he had any hand in it. Even if he had no idea who that someone was.

Name: Lucas Vennen
Age: 17
Kind: Normal
Powers: General, though while he grew into his age he learned the ways of Jujitsu.
Background information: Vennen grew up basically alone, his parents hardly talked to him and hardly fed him, then one day they just never came back home. However, in spite of all this he ended up surviving with the helps of his neighbors and an adjusted diet requiring the bare minimal nutrients. Vennen learned how to fight from one of his neighbors whom would take him in whenever possible. Vennen still feeling the shock of his parents, however, refused to let anyone get too close to him. You can't lose what you never had. Right?
Personality: Though Vennen is kind hearted and compassionate he hides behind the facade of a man who was toughened by life on the streets. His attitude towards others usually keeps them at bay and gives cause for rumors of him to spread. The biggest one being over his supposed "Phobia of Humans" due to him refusing to stay near anyone. His voice however doesn't reflect his facade in such a way that you'd expect, it's actually quite faint and meager

Mariya couldn't help but chuckle to herself even as she stilled her breathing and formed a crimson longsword in her hand. Her luck seemed to be taking quite the nosedive in her life since her powers surfaced. Fight, she accidentally hurt a friend, though it was bad. Then the government had seemed to decide any 'First Kinds', as they were now called, that weren't apprehended or dead were a threat to society and started a modern-day witch hunt. Then a Third Kind had attacked and revealed her, forcing her to flee for her life before they came after her. Now, here she stood, hiding in an alleyway from a Third that had attacked her current Safehouse and forced her out. She sighed as she gripped her sword handle. "Such misfortune..." she murmured before spinning to slice deep into the Cutlass' front leg, a strange roar coming from it as it scrambled back. Mariya didn't give it a chance to regroup as she came around with her blade again to slash it across the face. The thrashing that ensued nearly got the woman stabbed several times as bladed legs speared at her. But, it had served its purpose, to let her retreat to form a large bow and spiral, sword-like arrow and take aim. The 'arrow' flashed as she expended to energy to let keep its form after launch and like a bull after a Matador, the Cutlass charged her. "The fastest way to a Spider's heart is..." with a smile the arrow launched, driving into its open mouth. "...is down its throat!"

"Between shaking annoying Second Kind and being hunted by dumbass spider-things, I'm getting really pissed off," the green-haired man, Zorlo, said as he walked on. He rubbed the back of his head with his left hand and rested his right forearm against the handle of his sword. THe sword that lay on his right hip clanked as he leapt down where a piece of land caved downwards slightly. The hollow clang of metal upon metal rung out and quickly caught his ears. "A battle indeed," the man stated as he rushed off. Drawing the sword at his side, he intended to inspect the carnage at hand.

Much to his minor disappointment, he saw a woman fighting with everything she had against the rampaging spider-creature he had seen so many of. Much to his chagrin, she seemed to be holding her own. "Well, it is hard to be a hero in this day and age. Women have powers that may surpass that of men... still, a kill is a kill," he noted to himself as he leapt down from another "step" and moved towards the spider.

Taking a deep breath, Zorlo cleared his throat. "Time to make you pay, vile creature!" he noted as he began to move the flat of his sword back and forth quickly, causing the air to vibrate around the blade of his sword violently. "Try a wind scythe!" he yelled as the blade of wind rushed forwards and sliced clean through the cutlass, cleaving it in half. Although the attack had, yet again, been a complete success, the flash of an odd projectile whizzed past his face, nearly taking his head off. "Watch where you're aiming over there! I was trying to heroically save you!" he called over to the woman, somewhat annoyed that he had almost died. "Anyway, I'm gonna be taking this thing's legs! After all, I killed it! My wind scythe clearly cut through it first!" he stated proudly, certain his attack had struck down the foe as he waited for the clouds of dust to clear so he could see exactly what this person he had assumed was a girl looked like. Or at least a better look. Both would probably work, he assumed.

Character sheets:

Name: Sammi
Age: 19
Kind: First
Powers: Cryokinesis
Background information: Sammi was a simple girl with not-so-simple goals in life. She yearned to be an actress on Broadway. During her senior year in high-school, a young man decided to prove to his friends that the actress could be out acted, and manipulated her into "falling" in love with her. He abused her emotionally, which took a toll on her mind, and as a result that young man fell victim to Sammi's first freezing. She ran away from home, from everything, tried to start life anew. This time, however, she was a shell of her former self, suddenly Broadway didn't matter, nothing did. Sammi's apathetic attitude resulted in total ignorance of the world's changing, she secretly yearned to master her Cryokinesis.
It wasn't until the Cutlass appeared that she realized the urgency of learning her hidden talent. She now fights for survival against a Pyokinetic, with her former schoolmate and neighbor Terri.
Personality: Cold and ruthless to those that oppose her.
Image: Cold as Ice

Name: Terri
Age: 16
Kind: Normal
Powers: Amateur Boxer
Background information: Sammi's long-time neighbor. He secretly admired her his whole life, and was a freshman during Sammi's big break-up. When he learned of what had happened he tried to console her but she had fled the state. Terri then took boxing lessons at the local gym, he was focused on becoming fit and being able to protect Sammi. His short stature didn't really benefit him, but it didn't halt his progress, and Terri learned to box by his Junior year. When the Cutlass emerged his parents decided to move towards the numerous shelters the eastern seaboards promised. On this trip he found Sammi, battling a Cutlass in the middle of the highway. It wasn't so much a battle as it was Sammi trying to freeze the beast and fleeing and the beast lunging for her while attempting to dodge her icy attacks. The Cutlass crushed Terri's parents, forcing Terri to mindlessly attack the Cutlass, and Sammi froze the stunned creature, while also nearly freezing Terri to death. Had he not called out to her, she would have killed him.
Terri now does his best to support Sammi and take care of her when she's exhausted herself.
Personality: Selfless, he tries his best for Sammi, and trusts people easily. Sometimes too easily.

Jason sprang to his feet and whipped the goop from his trench jacket as best he could.

"Hey, no problem buddy," he took a second to gain his bearings then tore into a dead run for the nearby military base, or more accurately the beach located nearby.

"All your's!" he called back, but already one or two had taken a smart hint to avoid the intervener and headed after Jason.

He glanced over his shoulder and just in time to duck a claw. Crap. Too stupid to take an easier meal. The claw, upon not slicing through flesh, ceased its motion and began flying in the opposite direction. Jason ducked a second time.

"Fine!" He said springing back to his full height as the second Cutlass rallied behind him, "If you insist that I be blunt, it's not my fault if I hurt your feelings."

He made the gun shape with his right hand again, but this time drive the index and middle finger into one of the spider's eyes. A satisfying 'splodge' emanated from the creature's decimated eye.

Nasty, Jason allowed himself to think then delivered a several hundred volt current directly into the Cutlass. The beast, paralyzed, shook from the electricity. After two seconds smoke started seeping from it's pierced eye. Another two seconds and the other eyes were bubbling and popping sending orange goo in all directions. What the next two seconds would reveal remained a mystery as the second Cutlass drove its teeth into Jason's neck and commenced injecting handfuls of venom.

Bloody spiders. He decided to ignore the ones coming affter him and just run. Cain's muscles strengthened as he sprinted after Jason, leaving dents in the road. He leaped into the air and landed on the back of the cutlass poisoning Jason. The cutlass's exoskeleton shattered and the goo within fell to the street. That was stupid. He thought to himself as he fell to the asphalt. Too late, he's already poisoned. I should have grabbed some of the antivenom from the others. Stupid, you shouldn't have been so concerned with getting to safety. The clacking of a cutlass coming up behind him broke into his thoughts. Cain took a deep breath turned and shouted, "VOSHK!" with as much force as he could and combined that with his elemental manipulation to create a blast of gale force wind that bowled the Cutlasses back about twenty yards. It left Cain choking and coughing, but it had the desired effect of scaring off the two cutlasses, at least for a little while. "Aren't *cough cough* you jus*cough* full of great ideas to*cough*" He tried to suck the venom from Jason's wound with unclear results. "No time to keep trying this, I need to get you somewhere a little safer." He picked Jason up and jogged back towards the motel, returning there seemed a fool idea but it seemed to be the nearest thing to safe in the area. "No time to get to proper facilities. Should I try to scavange a dose of antidote? Or maybe give you a blood transfusion, the success rate of those has been iffy. What do you think?" He asked not really expecting a response. I'll make a call when we get back.

((Just how much like alchemy is elemental transmutation? Can Cain analyze the venom and then create a counter agent?))

The Wind Scythe tore past Mariya with equal closeness, though she was fortunate that her body was sideways from her bow shot so that it completely missed her. Was that... a blade of wind...? Mariya thought to herself as she listened to Zorlo complain of nearly being killed and decided to step out of the dissipating dust cloud raised by the passing of his attack. "Well then, Mr. Hero, it sounds like you need to work on your entry, if you don't want to get killed then," she replied to him as she got an actual good look at him. Huh... Green hair... Don't see that often. "And for the record, My arrow already pierced its heart when you cut it. But..." she turned and swung her compound Longbow in both hands, the bow vanishing to be replaced by a huge, black greatsword that cleaved a leg from the Cutlass before it too vanished. "...I got what I wanted for the moment. You're welcome to the rest if you really want it," she finished, adjusting her glasses before picking up the severed leg.

Elsewhere, a young girl hid in the dusty, dark corner of a room, hugging her knees to her chest. Resting while she could, she listened intently to her silent surroundings. But it was not sound that she listened for, but thoughts. Both above her and below her, she could 'hear' the minds of the her foes, the men and women that had been hunting her for two days now. It was fortunate that she known this building well as a friend of hers had lived here before the eight floor apartment building had been 'evacuated for the tenant's protection'. Because of that, she'd been able to hide to rest and create traps to try and get rid of her pursuers. Of the five original trackers, three were still in the building. Whether injured or dead, she wasn't sure, nor did she any longer care. What was Human life nowadays...?
The third mind approached her, jarring her from dark memories and darker thoughts. He was on the other side of the wall, coming toward the doorway. Silently as she could, she telekinetically lifted a large piece of rubble over the doorway. But little could have prepared her for what happened next. The wall shook as a clawed fist blew though the dry wall and caught her by the throat in a crushing grip. The rock she held aloft hitting floor. "Now now... you didn't think you could escape my hearing, did you?" said a male voice through the wall as another hand came through the wall to grab her throat.

Zorlo watched her create the sword and slice the leg off with a smile. His sword flashed quickly as another leg hit the ground and he sheathed his sword, placing the leg onto his shoulder. "Oh my, my, my! Not a hag, nor subtle in strength at all. I'm sure that a great many men with you have been made to fall. Still, your sword stood so tall that my mind went blank after all," he said, laughing slightly. "I'm Zorlo, and from your variant power, can surmise you are a First Kind like myself. A powerful and versatile one at that. My dear, my dear, my dear, I do believe I wish to have words with you I fear. After all, there is much I think should be made clear, so the time has come to clean your ears," he said, smiling at her.

The verbose, superfluous and rhythmic timing of his words was distracting to most people. Their heads spun at the way he phrased things and many fought to grasp the true meaning in his statements. Still, speaking like this was awkward even to him. He dropped the lyrical nature of his words with his next thought. "I wish to speak with you about the nature and posturing of the first kind, miss. After all, what I truly want is to speak with you. You possess great and impressive powers, so I seek to make an ally of you, O beauteous one," he said, smiling. "After all, t'is not every day a man meets a woman in an oddly lolita dress that can summon swords. Had I not seen what I just witnessed, I'd have thought you no different, but then again, unlike the second kind, our powers are more hidden. The average person can't identify us without our actions."

Zorlo stretched himself and looked back slightly as two more cutlass seemed to crawl up behind him and he laughed. "We have more guests... fight or flight, the choice is yours. Still, to them I shall improve their simply plight. Foolish beings behold my right: the greatest might makes right!" he said as he shifted and tossed the leg at the two spiders, causing them to jettison themselves into the air and bear down attacks towards him.

Vennen cowered in a nearby corner as he watched Jason's kerfluffle with the Cutlass. His jaw shook with trepidation and he couldn't find his footing. In truth the only thing he could manage was his bladder as he refused to let anything "Leak out" in terror. He ran his hands through his hair, and winced as he watched the fight. Then just as Vennen summoned all his courage in order to help in some way, another man appeared on the back of the last standing Spider and felled it within moments. As he turned he accidently sent a can flying through the air and nailing a garbage can with a sharp ting.

Vennen's eyes widened in terror as his position was given away. Then he did the same thing many knights would do when pitted against a dragon of an enemy. He turned, and ran away.

The sound of fire loomed just over his head, "Damn it! Sammi can only use her power eight times a day! This guy's launched at least ten of those fireballs-" Terri dodged falling debris and rolled left. "Take this you rat bastard!" Terri picked up a chuck of debris and threw it as hard as he could at his assailant's head. The man jumped back, narrowly avoiding the composite thrown his way. "Big mistake, kid! I was aiming for your little girlfriend; now you're the top spot" Terri ducked his head under the composite wall. He took off his jacket and threw it on a pile of rubble. He cracked his knuckles and prepared himself for the fight he would now be participating in. All the while Terri wondered where exactly Sammi was and why she wasn't fight back. She wasn't the type to abandon an ally, or Terri thought she wasn't. Another swirling ball of flames was hurled at Terri, blasting the remains of the wall to ash and cinders. The man jogged over to the site, Terri was nowhere to be found. "Kid got caught under the rubble eh?" "Not exactly!" Terri flung his fist at the man, connecting with his jaw. The punch lifted the man off his feet and flung him back just under a meter. "Face! Got'em! Sammi! Sammi! I got him!"

Mariya sighed. "Okay.... I don't really care if you want to talk to me for a bit, but..." She broke the leg on her knee as she rematerialized her bow and fitted the bladed leg as an 'Arrow'. "...I'd appreciate it if you speak plainly!" She finished, aiming and firing with an ease that bespoke much training. The 'arrow' shot past Zorlo's head just as closely as the last one had as it too, found its mark down the Cutlass' throat and deep into it's soft innards. The shot Cutlass squealed a second as it crashed to the ground and twitched slightly before dying. She formed the spiral sword-arrow again and notched it. "I may have been a college student, but I'd rather not decipher your words. If you'll be a distraction, I'll kill this one for you too, Zorlo," Mariya said as she made ready to aim and fire.

Kurushimi struggled to no avail against the Second that was strangling her through the wall. Already, she was beginning to pass out from lack if air and blood to her brain and the beast of a Second seemed to realize this too since he chuckled. Slowly, she went limp in his hands. "Huh...? That's it from someone that took out three of us already? Well, it doesn't matter, since I have no intention of letting go until your pulse stops... but, I'd like to see you face before then," he finished, releasing one hand to tear down the drywall. It wasn't much, but it loosened his grip enough to return circulation to her brain and rouse her a little from near unconsciousness. She needed to get away, but how...? She had one idea, risky as it was, but she didn't think she had time to think of another. She grabbed his hand and teleported. The two appeared about four feet above the roof moments later, as things like gravity reapplied themselves. They dropped, but the Second didn't stop as unlike the girl, he was over the ledge. His arms hit the railing hard, jarring Kurushimi from his grasp as he roared angrily, like a Lion, as he fell. Kurushimi hit the gravel rooftop and coughed violently as the stars slowly stopped bursting in her vision. I... I have to.. run... But she was so weak... so as the roof door burst open, she did the only thing she could. She teleported.

"That's fine, I shall keep it in mind when speaking to you," he said as he turned and quickly drew his sword, tossing a slightly unbalanced cutter wave from his sword. The wave 'bounced' slightly as it cut into the ground before striking it's mark, but only so much as to slice the legs off of the creature on one side and caused it to fall. "Hmm... I still need training," the man said as he turned and stabbed the sword into the creature's head. With a swift turn, the creature ceased it's futile movement. Removing a cloth from his jacket, the swordsman cleaned the blade and sighed as he turned to look at the woman. He blushed slightly as he looked away.

I hadn't noticed... she's wearing glasses. She looks kind of like a waitress or a maid, but she's wearing glasses. Cute... too cute, he thought before coughing and looking back at her. "My name is Zorlo, as I said. I'm looking for first kind who share my disdain for being hunted like animals, both by second and third kind. I was wondering... will you help form the bedrock of such an organization or group?" Zorlo asked her as he cracked a smile. He couldn't resist. She felt... different... than other first kind he'd met. She also was likely to live longer than his last few weaker compatriots. "After all... we are in a war now, sadly."
