“Holy- tall!” Saber said, meeting a person taller than him for the first time in a while. “Sure, We can adventure together, I doubt it’ll be bad having a guy like you my side.” Saber gave a toothy grin and agreed on letting Trafalgar take the lead. “I can’t read maps, but I have one if you need it. Oh, by the way my name is Saber.” As they went into the labyrinth, a giant bear stood before them, Saber, completely disarmed, was shocked for a moment. Paralyzed one might say, but after his initial shock he began conjuring up a spell to attack the beast. Time was not on his side and Trafalgar defeated the beast before he was halfway through the chant. "I hope you don't mind, I want* to learn what I can from this." “Go for it…” Saber said dropping the chant as Trafalgar examined the beast. "Those must be it's tracks, looks like it has a mate, but what made those? Alright, sleep well." Saber bit his lip and shrugged his shoulders, even though it sounded like a rhetorical question. "With luck, you will wake up before something else comes along. You ready to keep going, Saber?" Saber nodded, “Oh yeah, I’ll follow your lead, otherwise I’ll probably get us lost. But… I have a question. Do we like get to the other side or something? What’s the point of these mazes?”

((Ah, yeah I did. I'm using my phone and it auto corrects from time to time.))

"Point? I'm afraid I didn't ask. I think it's supposed to be the practical application of our skills and practice for when we delve into real dungeons in search of treasure. Maybe they placed something as a placeholder for that in here for us to find. I usually am more attentive. I just really wanted to get away from all those pompous self entitled smooth handers. You hear that? Sounds like a-oof!" Trafalgar stepped around a corner and was pounced on by a man sized canine with a scorpion tail. He grabbed the barghest's neck with one hand, one of it's legs with his other, the tail with his teeth when it tried to stab him, wrapped his own around one of its back legs and hung on for deer life.

((Oh good old technology))

“I didn’t ask either, I just thought we had to get through it, but then why would we have to form groups?” Saber was about to keep talking when Trafalgar was attacked, “I guess animals must really like you? Hold still for a minute.” Saber began his chant from the beginning again. The gust of wind appeared as the beast growled and struggled to free its legs. “Almost there…” Saber said as he formed a sphere with his hands, the wind around his ankles rose slowly yet surely to his wrists, and then began swirling more visibly, contained in Saber’s invisible sphere. “This’ll hurt! Don’t cry now!” He formed a triangle with his hands and the sphere moved in front of it, and the beast nearly freed its leg. The ball of air hit the beast on its snout, knocking it back, but certainly not killing it, or even unconscious. “Aw man! I thought that’d work!” Saber rushed up to the stunned beast and shoved his fist in its mouth, making it unable to bite him. “Get its tail! He can’t bite us anymore, but I want to try that again at close range.” Saber began chanting again.

"Hold still for a minute." "Rich I aff a kois?" Snarled Trafalgar. He was glad he loosened his grip when he did, otherwise he wasn't sure what would have happened when Saber loosed the spell. "That had to hurt." With a push of his wings he hopped back to his feet and grabbed the tail as the barghest tried to stab Saber. "Just hurry it up." Trafalgar didn't quite time the release right this time, so he wound up under the barghest when it flew into the wall.

He rolled it off of himself but didn't get up right away. "I think I figured out why they wanted us in groups." He kicked the limp beast once. "I would not have wanted to take my chances wrestling something like that by myself." With a hand from Saber Trafalgar got back on his feet. "Thanks for the hand. You want to take something to commemorate your first kill?" He asked as he checked himself to make sure he hadn't been stabbed in the tussle.

“I don’t think my battle style suits solo fighting either…especially without a damn weapon! But at least I’m getting the hand of this magic shtick.” Saber said, ignoring the fresh cuts the razor winds had caused and helping Trafalgar up. "Thanks for the hand. You want to take something to commemorate your first kill?" Saber nodded, “I’ve always wanted a fang tooth necklace.” He then kneeled to pick up its head and punched it as hard as he could in its mouth, knocking out several teeth. “You know, Trafalgar, I thought I was going to hate this school. Homeroom sucked, and so do some of the other kids.” Saber said remembering his encounter with the Erdgeist. “But you’re a cool kid, and…” he examined the teeth and selected the largest of the teeth. It was, for some reason, white, as though it had taken good care of its teeth. “Hey, check out its teeth. You think the school grooms these animals or whatever? That’d be heartless I though, raising these creatures for us to kill them…” He dropped its head and sighed, “Let’s get going.”

"So I bet you're both wondering as to what is the purpose of this labyrinth?" asked seiko as they went deeper into the labyrinth, "this is only a training labyrinth built by the school, even though its a replica it can still shift at will, thats also the reason why going alone or separating is inadvisable, you see the labyrinth is somewhat alive".

"Heh, you're the first one to think that. Thanks, you seem okay too." I guess this thing, whatever it is, left those tracks over by that bear. Trafalgar turned to look back the way they had come from when he heard a low rumbling sound. "Hm, oh yeah. Let's." He picked the bow back up and took the lead once more, being a little more cautious around corners. "Well it's not so different from what a pig farmer does, and nowhere does it say that we have to kill them, but I wouldn't go out of my way to spare them given that they're trying to kill and ea-." He held a staying hand up and peeked around a corner of the intersection. "Hey, a treasure chest." There was indeed a treasure chest sitting at the end of the hallway, but something didn't feel right. "What do you think? Do we go for it or should we just leave it for someone else to find?"

"Alive, huh...?" Nephilim replied as the three of them traveled into the maze. Already, Nephilim could see what Seiko meant, as the last group before them was nowhere to be found, but they'd yet to find a single turn anywhere. "Yeah, my brother said the same thing to me. 'The Labyrinth is a living thing capable of swallowing whole the lives of any and all that enter its Maw...' I didn't realize it was quite like this," Nephilim finished as they walked. For the most part, they'd been left alone by the Labyrinth's monsters, though Nephilim was skeptical that it would remain so very long. Especially as they turned a corner to find a hallway covered in dried blood with a few bones scattered around.

"I do not comprehend... How can something that is artificial be 'alive'? By its very definition, that which is not natural is alive. Although artificial beings and constructs may exist, they are far from 'living' in any sense," Zorlo said as he looked at them. Perhaps it was that the comments made him reflect on his own nature in comparison to the Labyrinth, but he removed any of such thoughts. Distractions about ones own nature easily got people killed.

Zorlo stepped forwards into the blood splattered room and extended his arms as he spun to look at the people he was traveling with. "While you are pondering how alive this building is, others have perished. Still, you would discern if they are similar to you or simply beasts. As far as I know, there is no difference. Humanoid or beast... everything fights to survive, and everything dies. If you waste your time thinking about life and death, you only wind up dead with no answers," Zorlo responded monotonely. No matter how hard he comprehended such things, he always came to the same conclusion: "The strong live and the weak die. That is the only rule in the world... and yet those who can reason deny this in favor of a false belief. It is for that reason that creatures will destroy you."

Zorlo's eyes shimmered green as something approached him from behind. "Those who fail to reason die," Zorlo said as he leaned forwards and a gray flash erupted from his hand. A gray rapier was held in his left hand, the tip of the blade run clean through the top of the creature's head as he slowly rose and swung his sword over his head, slamming the serpentine like beast into the ground. "That is why I will live, and this creature will die. It has nothing to do with fate or God. It is nature's law: a construct like me and like this building... those who were created by others... are doomed to destroy others if we lose our path and seek something other than what we were created for."

With a quick yank, Zorlo ripped his sword out of the creature's mouth and walked on. "Lady Nephilim, you may do as you please with this creature... I have bested it, but your merciful nature dictates my path. It has from the day you bested me in combat... you are the strong, and I am the weak... all I can do now is serve you until I am unneeded, like any weapon," Zorlo stated firmly as his eyes shimmered slightly. His sword turned into gray pixels almost as it vanished back into a small disc in the palm of Zorlo's left glove.

“I guess, ribs are totally worth exploiting stupid pigs.” Saber thought for a moment. “You know Trafalgar, we could do both. All we have to do is wait until someone arrives at the treasure chest and ambush them if they it’s not a trap.” Saber grinned and gave him a wink, “I think if I charge up my wind blast it’ll only stun someone, so it’s not like we’ll be hurting them. Besides, you dislike most students, I dislike most students, might as well make the feeling mutual, eh?” Saber shrugged his shoulders and looked around for a place to hide. “I don’t think it’ll take us a whole period to clear the labyrinth, so I think we have time... I think. So, what do you say? Or wait, I'll hit it with the wind blast to see if it pops open!” Saber said as he begun his long chant.

Nephilim frowned slightly as she winged up to him before he could move up to the corner. "I told you, you're not my 'Weapon' and you aren't going to just be thrown away like one!" she admonished semi-angrily as the Badly wounded Monster, a huge Naga-like creature, rose and moved toward Nephilim and Zorlo. "You. Are. My. Friend! And I will never believe that you could be anything less that that. As an Erdgeist, your body technically may be artificial, YOU are not and I refuse to let a friend put themselves down like that!" The Creature attacked, but by then Nephilim was already moving to attack. "And you stay out of this! 'Narrow Spark'!" she finished as she pointed two fingers at the creature and unleashed a beam of Light the width of a soda can through its neck, killing it instantly. She instantly regretted killing it, as she'd intended to knock it out with a 'Stardust' spell, but the familiar attack had come to her mind first. But it was done.

Zorlo listened to her speak and watched as she dispatched the creature without a second thought, even if she hadn't intended to, as he assumed she hadn't. "Friend... I still do not comprehend what that is," Zorlo said as he moved forwards and noticed two things: the first was a treasure chest. The second was that the wind was moving oddly. The tattoo upon his left leg began to glow green as he looked at the treasure chest. "Hmm... the wind is moving oddly... but that isn't the trap... its too far from that chest." Zorlo looked at Nephilim as he took a few steps forwards, his back to the chest. "Do you want me to investigate the chest for potentially useful contents, Lady Nephilim?" Zorlo asked stoically as he looked back at the chest.

To be honest, he wasn't sure why it interested him. He had very little use for conventional treasure... but something about the way the wind was moving... he wanted to know what was causing it. He inched forwards another step, holding back his urge to simply rush to the end of the hallway. Why would the wind be moving to a point beyond where the chest was. Even though it made no sense, it clearly wasn't that the wind was the trap. That was for certain.

(sorry for the long absence.)
"when I said alive I didnt mean it will eat us, its only trying to hinder us in reaching the end, and furthermore some labyrinths will lead to random places, the labyrinth we're taking right now only goes back here to particus, the other school labyrinth goes all the way up the mountains." Said seiko, he eyed the chest and frowned, "if only we had a hafling with us, they make good thieves and have a knack for disarming traps." still she approached it and opened the chest anyway "no traps, hang on..... This is it?" she was dissapointed that the contents of the chest was nothing more than candy, "well class is over and I'm feeling tired, would you guys like to use the return ticket with me or can I go ahead?"

((I knew I should never have gone to sleep. I missed a good opportunity to post and worse than that, brownies.))
Trafalgar sighed, "Saber, I may not like them, but I won't put their lives at risk and then attack them on top of it. I'm not a coward. Though, I suppose opening it with magic shuld be fine." He caught a familiar scent on the air and stepped in front of Saber as Seiko ran past, it was too late for Seiko to drop the spell so he decided he would just withstand it, so he dug into the wall next to them with one hand and tried to angle his wings to dilute the force of the spell. With the spell ended he followed her down the hallway, bits of stone fell from his hand as he clapped softly. "Well, I guess it's not who sees it first so much as who gets there first. Congratulations, Seiko." He ran a hand through his windblown hair and leaned against the wall looking up at the ceiling. "You're just going to leave? You're not even going to take a victory lap nor partake of your prize?" Trafalgar angled his head towards her, smiling. "I guess it's fine, it is yours to do with as you please after all."

Saber sighed, however, he kept charging the wind attack, “My attacks aren’t lethal yet at this range. But yeah I’ll open it.” He closed his eyes to concentrate on finishing the chant. Just as he had set his sights on the treasure chest, a girl ran right towards it, flying into the range of his attack. “-The hell?!” Trafalgar jumped in front of Saber, leaving Saber shocked, and causing his attack to slam into Trafalgar’s wings. The recoil of the attack from such a close range knocked Saber into the wall behind him. As he slid to the floor, he couldn't help but ask, “What’d you do that for? I still could have re-aimed it. I think…” Saber cracked his knuckles and stretched his hands over his head. “What was in there anyway?” Saber, too lazy to move his legs, flapped his wings and hovered over to Trafalgar and Seiko. “Is that…candy? I almost blew someone away, for candy?”

Nephilim winged up to the chest herself, shaking her head as she confronted Saber. "Serves you right then! This is a Class. Training for the real thing, so there really isn't any good reason to be trying to blow someone away anyway, is there?!" she demanded almost angrily before turning calmly to Seiko. "You can go on, Seiko. I've got some return tickets myself, so we'll head back in a bit. But, if you don't want those, would you mind if we got them?" Nephilim finished before looking back to Saber. "Anyway, we the hell were you trying to blow us away to begin with? Why not just get the chest yourself?"

“Serves me right? Oh, you’re absolutely right! I should never practice blowing people away; I mean, when I need it, that’s when it’ll work; don't need any practice, just shoot when I need it. If I don’t go all out here, there’s no reason to go all out anywhere!” Saber replied, not enjoying a scolding from someone he had never met. Saber’s ears perked up at return ticket, but he felt he shouldn’t ask these two for the answer; there was a high chance he wouldn’t get an answer he liked. "Anyway, we the hell were you trying to blow us away to begin with? Why not just get the chest yourself?" “Have you been here for more than five minutes? This place isn’t the friendliest place around! I didn’t want to face the treasure chest, so I was going to blast it open, but oh no! Someone runs in the way of my shot as I’m about to fire it, whatever shall I do? You should keep watch on your buddies!” Saber replied checking his pocket watch. “We need to find a way out of here, time’s almost up.” Saber said looking right passed the pink winged girl towards his ally.

EDIT: I forgot to put in the color for Nephilim. >.<

Trafalgar let out a sigh, seemed to grow an extra couple of inches as he stood up straighter, and turned to the two Celestians. "Look, it worked out fine in the end. Saber ultimately hit me, not Seiko and I'm not getting mad so both of you step outside the forge for a minute." He glared at each of them in turn. "If we're good then shake hands. And if we're not good, shake hands anyways. You're both Celestian mages, and we're all in the same class. I'm sure you have a lot in common beyond the wings, such as how stupid your magical theory master is. Now, I have a detention to serve, so if Seiko can stand to take me with her, I'm going back." Trafalgar moved to stand against the wall next to Seiko, letting himself shrink back down to his normal height.

Nephilim looked over to Trafalgar and smiled a bit before catching hold of Saber's hand with a small giggle. "Forgiven," she said to him with her gentle smile before yanking out a return ticket. "We really should all head back," she said as Zorlo walked closer and Nephilim raised the now glowing ticket. "Let's go! Return!" The ticket vanished in a flash of light as a rainbow of multicolored stars surrounded and swirled around the entire group before returning them all to the Labyrinth entrance. Nephilim giggled once more before letting go of Saber's hand and turning to look at everyone. "Next time, let's all go together. It might be even more fun that way!"

Zorlo walked past everyone except Nephilim as he looked at the group. "I do not comprehend your methodology, Lady Nephilim," Zorlo said as he looked at the Drake and Celestian. That was all he said. There was no sense trying to reason or be logical with this group. Everyone was FAR too emotional, making them exceedingly bothersome to deal with. "Still, I will do as you require, until you require my assistance no further," the Erdgeist responded as he walked off again. Bothersome and bothersome. That's all this place had become.
