What do you think about RPs?

Do you join RPs, read them for fun, both, hate RPs all together, or just don't care?
I'd like to get an idea of what people think...

Hmm I'll usually join a new one if it seems promising. Popular ones I'll maybe skim through if I'm bored but I don't read them much.

I can understan that. I don't go reading ones that have been dead for a while or ones that I think are just boring...

for me it reallt depends what kind of rp were or there doing, if its a kind of video game rp i join them and i wanna be the coolest character and stuff, like if there playing .Hack or something i want to be Kite. Or if its a diffrent rp then i pick a diffrent character but if has nothing to do with video games i guess, i join them anyways, heh. i play the cool guy role

Now doesn't everyone want to be the cool guy? Not saying anything wrong with that but remember your character should be a little realistic, so he or she should have flaws of some sort.

I use my own characters every time, even if it is .hack I can weave my characters lives into anywhere in any RP

depending on whether its a game or jsut a forum I would give it some interest, on one I did somethings I am pretty sure noone has done before,
but I wasent really all that popular but I think I was well known, well... I donno if I was popular or not, but I dont usually want to be popular or anything like that, I just do stuff I want to on an rp game online as long as it doesent go against the rules.
