I just watch comedy films to pass the time, especially my favorite "jackboots on whitehall" I've got a psp and a ps3 along with my laptop so I hardly get bored.

I totally agree that boredom is evil. BUT (and this is a really big BUT) the cause of boredom is a lack of IMAGINATION

Imagination, The stuff that fuels rainbows and DREAMS, Oh and also Nightmares

So, this topic has turned into a "What do you do when you get bored?" discussion. Fun o3o

Well, as for me when i get bored, i just look for interesting sites, with pics or videos fitting for my mood, and when i get inspired enough i start pulling down my-
...
Wait, wrong place. lol

Seriously now, it's actually pretty rare for me to get bored. When i'm at home, it's IMPOSSIBLE for me to get bored, because i ALWAYS have something to do. There are so many videogames for me to play, lots of anime to watch, even lots of manga to read (i bought several GU+ and XXXX volumes and haven't even removed their plastic thingy XD), and so many other plans to fulfill for me to EVER reach the point where i say i have nothing to do. Even when the power is out and both my laptop and PSP are out of battery, i could finally open my manga. And simply with internet access alone, boredom doesn't exist for me.
So, the only way for me to get bored is when i'm away from home...or rather, when i'm away from all the things i have to do. For example, if i arrive at school early, i have no PSP, no homework or other things to do apart from waiting for class, and not even music to listen to...i get bored. Same when i'm waiting in line for any of the several burocratical procedures that must be done in this world. Whenever i'm standing or sitting somewhere with absolutely no tasks to do except wait for something else, is when i truly call it "boredom". And in such cases, all i do is look around, think about stuff, grab whatever object is around me and try to have the most fun out of it, overhear and pay attention to others' conversations, or observe random hot girls as they pass by...and the last two aren't for being a creeper or something, it's simply because i truly have nothing else to do at the time.

Most of the time though, i don't get bored...i get LAZY. I may have something, or many things to do, in fact...but my motivation and interest for them may not be the greatest and so instead of doing whatever i have to do, i end up getting distracted by everything, lurk around, talk to people, or do something else. Might be mistaken as boredom due to the actions i do, but i'm actually the whole opposite to it. Even moreso when whatever i have to do is important but i can't focus on it, since i get stressed XD lol

As a n00b in Minecraft that just started playing the game a few days ago, and lost his 7-hour progress today due to wandering far chasing cows, losing his home, and falling into some deep cave while trying to find it, i must say i don't find creepers to be much annoying. They explode, yes, but they're easy to outrun, and they barely spawned around me (just...2 or 3, in comparison to 20 or 30 zombies in dark nights).
I'm personally more afraid of spiders and skeletons. Spiders are FAST, if you listen to them it means you're screwed already, and they don't stop chasing you, while skeletons can shoot you even before you see them, and i couldn't find a way to even approach them...i just hid and waited until the sun burned them.
...
Of course, the biggest and most dangerous enemy is simply getting lost and not carrying any items except a sword and bones, as i learned today D: lol

But yeah this isn't Minecraft topic o3o
...
Though Minecraft can be good against boredom, in fact. lol

I usually play on peaceful, and I don't mind fighting creepers as long as there isn't anything for them to hide behind (like controlled battles on the beach), but they're just so damn memetically infamous in the Minecraft fandom that it's impossible not to make note of them.

And yes, Minecraft is great for boredom, therefore I decree that we can discuss it in this topic :P

Soo...What are you actually supposed to do in Minecraft? XD Just get wood, find a place to hide at night, do stuff with wood, get more stuff, do more stuff with the new stuff, and mine for stuff until you get bored of it or lava scares you away, and then get Diamond and Redstone and stuff to build even more random stuff and be happy? XD Or is there any actual purpose you have to fulfill with all the material avaliable for you? And what about The Nether? Is there anything important or worthy to risk your life on it?

There is no specific goal in Minecraft. It's a sandbox game, more for creativity (and adventuring) than anything else.

And as for the Nether? Well, there's glowstone, netherrack, soul sand, lots of lava, and mushrooms grow there better than in the overworld. Overall, unless you're fond of new stuff, mushrooms and lava, you're better off saving the obsidian to make a creeper shelter :P

Also, if you try to build anything in the Nether, ghasts can spawn inside sufficiently-sized buildings, sooo yeah. They don't require darkness to spawn like other hostile mobs, and their ranged attacks are like creeper explosions, and they fly, and they're the primary reason you should stay away from the Nether, and yeah.

...Soo, the Nether is such a place to suffer, run away from everything, try to not fall in lava, and get some of that netherrack and soul sand, if there's even anything cool to do with it o3o I'll probably go to it one day if i feel ready enough and with not much else to do...and fully knowing that i might be owned by a fireball as soon as i enter. Those Ghasts seem dangerous indeed.
But how would i go around getting the obsidian in any case? D: I thought it was indestructible, and therefore impossible to pick up. Do i have to do a long process of getting dozens of buckets, filling them all with lava, putting the lava somewhere, and pouring buckets of water over them? That'd be complicated if i want to do hollow shelters D8

Also, i now have a little doggy who jumps around all over!! X33 He's quite hard to take care of though...he indeed jumps all over and can easily fall from high heights, he was nearly owned trying to bite a spider (he just kept jumping on it and taking damage from that)...and i'm not sure if he's at full health after eating 2 cooked porkchops D: His tail used to rise higher before.

I also have a glass-made farm (...well, the farm is made of dirt and seeds, but it has glass walls all around), and a little mine where i'm currently punching this gravel thingy 83 lol

Bear in mind that the Nether was originally called "Hell". I think that gives you an idea XD

Obsidian can be mined with a diamond pickaxe, but it takes a LONG time. It can't be obtained by any other means and is completely immune to explosions.

Ah, the wolves... I think raw porkchops are more healing for them than cooked ones. Not sure, though.

Gravel punching for flint... the only thing gravel is useful for. xP

not if they had it coming, seriously the government already offered them new homes yet they still prefer to live in area's that are more prone to flooding.

Though there aren't any typhoons here, it works exactly the same way for floods.
They get the home from the government, sell it, and then go back to where they were living. And when something bad happens they blame the government .-.

My goverment doesn't even give them houses, whether they need them or not D:
Just TVs and microwaves and whatever food and clothes they gather from campaigns in the country, along with a heckload of papers and stuff with an ugly person's face so they vote for that ugly person in the next elections.

I love this world D: lol

back on topic, since my place is connected to a mall and a really sweet hotel I dot have to worry about getting cooped in during this rainy season, the hotel has these really great restaurant 's, mostly international food, the mall has everything I could ever hope for, if I cant make it to work then I can just go shopping ALL day! The condo I'm living in also has a clubhouse on the 8th floor, I usually go to the spa though.
