Oh snap moments

Post by zaseo »

I'm sure we all had moments were we said oh or aw snap/****. Post your personal experiences, or some from tv, movies etc.

I was playing Black Ops Wii. It was a team deatchmatch on Submit, and this guy runs and dives over the rail. I had my Wii remote pointing up at the stairs because I knew someone was about to come out. Someone had called in a spyplane. I said oh snap and quickly aim my Wii remote down for the kill.

I thought aw when I first fought Cubia's final form because of how powerful it is, and when I realize you have to fight to the core.

This one is from the Boondocks. The fight was going well until....

I can't remember many of these moments, but one from Armored Core: For Answer stands out at the moment (prolly because I've been playing AC so much recently...).

The first time that I fought the Answerer, I was not prepared. As soon as the match started, I though, "Ok, where is it? It's supposed to be the only air based fort, rig- oh ****!" I looked up and heard the SFX and ambient sounds leading to me getting f'd by that massive, seraphic, awe inspiring machine. So many missiles and lasers....

More recently, I've been "oh snapping" at a lot of the crazy awesome delicacies on the food channel.

I'm sure i've had several times like this. The gaming life is full of them after all.
But the only one i can remember right now is from Bayonetta...against Father Rodin.

I start a random level to prepare myself on equipment, items and stuff. I expected it to be a hard battle, given that he's the superboss of the game and all...But i had just finished the game in the hardest difficult and obtained the Platinum trophy, and with not many difficulties to be honest...just tough parts here and there but nothing impossible after a few continues. So i was all "Pfft, just how hard could it ever be?", i bought the special ticket which allows the battle to happen, appreciated the introductory cutscene to the battle, enjoyed the first few seconds of the epic battle theme, and it began...
In less than 5 seconds, Father Rodin reduced my HP to 1, completely nullifying my attacks with his immensely fast and destructive combos, and trashing away my "helpful abilities" like Witch Time (supposed to slow down enemies and give me plenty of time to counter...it didn't slow him one bit). I opened the Menu and tried to use my items to get back at him...only to see a message that this was a special challenge and my items were locked and sucks to be me. And then it was Game Over the second i closed the Menu.

I expected challenge...but i NEVER expected THAT KIND OF IMPOSSIBLY HORRIBLE CHALLENGE. It took me about 8 hours to defeat him, and i consider him as the most challenging boss i've ever faced in all of my PS3 games and among the hardest enemies i've ever faced in my life, in par to the likes of Igniz from King of Fighters and Nelo Angelo from Devil May Cry (both in the hardest difficulties, of course). Yeah...'XD

My 8 years on Final Fantasy XI Online was filled with far too many OH SNAP! moments to count. One of my favorites was my Promathia Mission against Diablos. The dungeon you had to battle through was extremely challenging due to level caps placed on your party. Once you reached Diablo's chamber you had to drop from the ceiling into a large room with a 5x5 tile grid floor. The fight was going quite well. We had a great tank, 3 good damage dealers, and solid heals from our red mage and white mage. All of a sudden Diablos raised into the air and slammed the floor. Some of the tiles broke free and the tank fell to his death! OH SNAP! Not even 10 seconds later he repeated the move and 2 of the DD's and the red mage fell to their deaths. This left me on my dragoon and our white mage as the only 2 still fighting. Double OH SNAP! With amazing heals, I was able to take him down, even though he was still at 35% HP when everyone fell. Those of you who have played FFXI know how easy this wasn't. Snapalicious 8)

Fighting Beelzebub in SMT: Imagine...

You think you've managed to beat him the first time, then a sigh of relief escapes you before y-OH SNAP. HE RESPAWNED. Good luck beating him a second time when you barely made it out the first time.
So you manage to push him back and finally beat his sorry ass, and you then chillax, lying in your chair as you whistle with a happy tune, glad that it's finally ove-OH ****. HE RESPAWNED AGAIN.

This continues on for 5 times in a row.
If I weren't a gunner-and didn't have my demon-then I'm sure I'd have been dead within the first few seconds of the second fight.

There are a lot of those, so lemme think of some.

Real Life
- When I was little, after an accident where half my face was covered in my own blood, I was kinda dizzy and could only open my eyes when we were at an elevator. The goddamn thing had a mirror and that was the only thing I thought before passing out.

- Whenever I'm typing a giant wall of text on a forum and the light goes out.

- Every Thursday when I have to go home. There's only one bus that goes from college to my home, it only passes once per hour, and at 6pm it is REALLY crowded. And I mean 100+ people on the same bus. Good luck not losing your leg while trying to get on the bus. My classmates call that bus the "Hell Express" o3o

Final Fantasy X
While doing that "dodge the lightnings" minigame for Lulu's best weapon's Sigil, I was around 150ish and felt I'd sneeze. I only had enough time to think "oh crap" before I was hit by a lightning. I never played that game again.

Final Fantasy IX
- Whenever Ozma started casting Doomsday nonstop.
- Whenever Tomberry got near enough

Grandia
I had just spent a Mana Egg to get the 4th element on Sue... and she goes back to her hometown not 1 hour later. Oh crap.

Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army
When fighting Raiho on Hard mode, after 10 minutes of battle, he kills my Jack Frost, punches me to the ground and uses Samurai Frost while I was getting up. I think I didn't even have the time to say "Oh crap" before the game over scene started playing lol.

My very same reaction. If it wasn't for my old partner Mizuchi (kindly nicknamed the "Lag Monsta" by my clannies lol) removing the Tetrakarns I'd be pretty much screwed.

Also, on the 2nd fight against him, he has that yellow shield-like spell that pretty much kills everyone who doesn't dodge (for some reason it'd never kill my Mizuchi, always leaving it with 1 HP o.o). Everytime he started casting that and I was shooting, I said "oh crap" cuz I wouldn't have enough time to dodge xD

I think I can name some oh crap moments on that game lol
Like one that, as weird as it may be, was one of the most fun Suginami Tunnels (Gold) runs I ever had. The party was:

- Lv59 MB gunner (me)
- Lv59 enhancer
- Lv29 gunner (no chain expertise)
- Lv34 melee (no chain expertise)
- Lv48 Retal melee (no enhance)

That doesn't seem THAT bad, right? I wish.
The enhancer spent the whole 1st floor complaining how fail the party was and quit as soon as we entered 2nd floor. So there I was, with a party of weaklings (the 38 melee was still using NPC gear and the gunner was still using the Plasma Rifle) on the middle of a sugi gold. Oh crap.

I have this kind of a policy of never quitting a run unless the whole party quits, so we carried on. I spent the whole run acting like a leader there, giving orders all the time. It kinda reminded me of IMOQ as how I had to micromanage my allies ("use ice blast on that cerberus and then stand back!"), especially on the boss room lol. After a rather long run (took almost 2h), we managed to finish with minimal losses (I died once, the 48 melee twice and the other two died 3 times) and we didn't get a total party kill :D

Pressed the wrong button, eh?
Dude, I wanna punch you in the face so badly right now...

When Houston still have Astroworld I got on this ride called Greece Lightning. Now normally rollercoasters start at the top of the biggest slope for momentum. I get in with my dad, and once the ride starts we take off so fast that I said aw **** in my mind. Then we go up a loop at an ultra fast speed, and go up a slope. At the top of the slope you do the whole ride backwards going very fast, and you end up on the slope is the back, and top. Then you just drop down.

I like literally just had an OH SNAP moment. But in a positive way because this story's freaking hilarious.

So, my sister-in-law doesn't get along with her boss. And I mean they'd be at each others' throats if murder weren't illegal. He's a total jackass and does all sorts of crap that he really shouldn't do, and she's a lot lower on the employee ranking than she rightfully should be because he refuses to let her do much other than shelve books (she works at a library).

Now, he has a certain way of doing things and telling his employees to do things, and she doesn't like to do them his way. So she's been getting done what he's telling her to do, her way, and taunting him the whole time. He can't do anything about it since she's still getting it done.

I really wish I could catch this on tape, just hearing about it is too damn hilarious.
let's cross the sky, to the future!

From this point on I will never complain about a sugi gold party ever again.
EVER again.

this is not so much a oh snap moment but a pure ROTFLOL moment.

the situation is me and my mate who is in another store to me are arguing about trading (Fred - Name Changed) who is in my store, and give him to his store.

my offer was he can have Aaron,(name not changed because i just dont care) who is annoying and that none of use like and is just hated by all. my suggestion that i keep Fred and put Aaron on an island.
[MATE]
How about....
I pay for Aaron's flights to said island and I have (Fred) for myself?
[You]
lol flights. i would pay for a sinking boat trip for aaron
[MATE]
... Pay for a death voyage and sue the shipping company after. I like your style.
[You]
yip, we need to make some money here
now this is what i call classic, finding the middle ground and agreeing on something. lol
