A hand protruded from the ground. It’s gnarled, dead, fingers still very much alive. They continuously ripped and clawed at the earth with such force that one could think that they were trying to reverse the burial process.
Soon most of it’s forearm was free, and it could now move it’s wrist without restraint. Not long after the elbow was unearthed, and it was now clear that Someone-Something- was coming. Not long after it was mobile down to it’s waist, only it’s legs remained. Blood gleaming upon It’s lips, and scarlet eyes shining through the night.
It turned and faced the monument set in It’s memory. The name burned with brightness though, the cloak of night hid some of the luminescence: Raphael Sololmon.

Your race can be anything really from Faeries to dwarves to vampires to regular people. Modern day society. And the quest isn't very well outlined quite yet, there is no need for it to be filled out as such

Bio: Nicolai was a normal human until two years ago. He was with his family on vacation in Honduras. During the trip they were kidnapped and held for randsome, but after they got their money the leader of the kidnappers revealed his true nature. A demon. His father was slashed from shoulder to navel by the demon's claws and at that moment the Unconquered Sun exalted Nicolai. Granting him superhuman strength and skill. He threw the demon out of the tent and tried to escape, carrying his father, as if they knew what he needed his feet guided him to a long forgotten temple where he recovered the violet blade Twilight Paradox. It didn't take long for the demon's men to find him, as a newly exalted solar he was lighting the place up like a bonfire making it impossible to hide, even if he wanted to. Between his newfound power and weapon Nicolai easily dispatched the demon's pawns. His father succumbed to the wounds inflicted upon him by the demon shortly after the battle's conclusion. And Nicolai returned to the demon's encampment and exacted his revenge. However, his wrath would not be sated by the one demon, he has since devoted himself to hunting down other creatures of darkness, such as vampires and undead, that prey on humanity so that others do not have to watch their loved ones die.
To avoid attracting unwanted attention, amongst other things, Nicolai keeps his weapon in a place called Elsewhere but he can call it to his hands instantly. A filled golden circle appears upon his brow whenever he is in the presence of a creature of darkness alerting him to their presence, although he does not know who the creature(s) in question is, such beings instinctively know to fear him. Seeing innocents suffer provokes his wrath, no matter the cause, although humans usually get away with simply being beaten to near death.

Ugh... what a day... Lumina thought to herself tiredly as she walked home to her apartment. The city was bathed in the golden light of twilight, slowly darkening as the day moved ever on into night. But even still, the streets were busy with people of all kinds moving about their daily and nightly lives. It was a city where the sighting of a non-Human, though not unheard of, was still a rarely seen thing as most still tended to keep to the shadows and move at night either by necessity or by choice. I hope they hire someone to help me soon. Anyone would help so much...
"Are you alright, Lumina? You seem tired." The voice came from slightly behind her, where Arietta appeared from her Spirit Form and followed behind. The Kitsune, Arietta, was one of the few exceptions of Non-Humans that choose not to be hidden. Even since the Two-tails had become best friends with Lumina, she'd chosen to adopt Lumina's sleeping cycle and, when not off relieving her boredom or 'learning' as she told Lumina once, she could usually be found somewhere in the vicinity of Lumina, either talking and cheering the girl on or hidden, playing pranks and watching.
Lumina turned to her friend, smile on her face, and nodded. "Yes, I'm okay. Just a bit tired, Arietta. They still haven't found a replacement for Acorna yet, so I've had to cover her tables too, that all," Lumina replied as they walked. Lumina worked at a well known restaurant as a waitress. Acorna was another waitress on her shift that had recently gotten hurt on the job, forcing Lumina to cover her co-worker's tables along with her own. At first, it was temporary, as Acorna was just going to be out a week, but complications caused the week to become two weeks, then three, so on and so forth. All in all, it was tiring, but she need the income and the pay was good, especially now, as the management was nice enough to pay her extra for continuing to work so hard without complaint.
Arietta giggled as she smiled back. "Cheer up, Lumina! Maybe they'll find someone soon!"
Lumina couldn't help a chuckle. Arietta's joyfulness was infectious at times. "Yeah... Maybe they will," Lumina agreed as they crossed another street, close to the apartment she called home.

Smoke began to rise from the figure as his hand entered the light, "And it still affects me."
"Lumina must be around somewhere. Maybe she could help me find work. I need the money now. Especially since we have begun dating...." Raphael spent much time locked in his own mind and only recently had he began to open up to anybody. There were several crowds of people, but none really cared for Raph's problems. That was one advantage in living in a city, Nobody poked into another's business. He took off at a run, knowing exactly where to find Lumina.

She pulled back a long strand of her pink hair and pulled it back behind her ear. She cuffed her hand around her ear a few moments as if she had heard something.

Nicolai had just finished exorcising a house of a particularly malevolent poltergeist who refused to accept the transfer of ownership of the house. This particular ghost had recruited the souls of two other exorcists his employer had hired previously. While not that much of a threat to him in and of themselves they had distracted him enough that the poltergeist had been able to cut his arm with a butcher's knife before he eliminated all three of them. The normal procedure for an exorcism would be to salt and burn the body, but nobody had been able to find the poltergeist's body making that method impossible. Of course that was hardly a problem for him.
Nicolai waved as Lumina and Arietta came into view on the other side of a busy street. He wasn't in any kind of hurry and besides, Lumina worked at one of his favorite places to eat. Where he was headed right now in fact. He looked up and down the road. It would be dangerous for anyone as frail or slow as a human to try crossing right now, which for all outward appearances he was. He didn't exactly keep his abilities secret per se, he was in the phone book under expert exorcist and monster hunter after all, but he didn't light the street up everywhere he went either. Still, he felt like saying hi and two girls didn't exactly scare off many predators. Especially considering Lumina was a small girl and a normal human on top of that. He waited a few seconds for a slight break in the traffic and sprinted through, the car in the last lane blared it's horn as he narrowly made it to the other side. "Hey there. You get a good take today?"

"Hi Nicholai!" Arietta called immediately as Nicholai crossed the road. Lumina looked over at Arietta's greeting and smiled to him.
"Nicholai, it's nice to see you again," Lumina greeted him, pausing to talk since she was near her apartment and in no hurry. It was nice to see friends outside side of her job. Especially the few like Nicholai, whom didn't shun her for the misfortune that tended to surround her much of the time. Now that she thought of it, nothing bad really happened most of the time when Raphael or Nicholai was around. Weird. "Yes, It did. People seemed sympathetic of me and tipped well. I mean... It's not that I'm ungrateful for it, but..." She sighed with a shrug, though she still smiled. "Sorry, I'm not really sure how to say it. But how are you? You must of had some trouble somewhere if you managed it miss my shift by this much. You're usually pretty consistent with that."
"Nicholai, it's nice to see you again," Lumina greeted him, pausing to talk since she was near her apartment and in no hurry. It was nice to see friends outside side of her job. Especially the few like Nicholai, whom didn't shun her for the misfortune that tended to surround her much of the time. Now that she thought of it, nothing bad really happened most of the time when Raphael or Nicholai was around. Weird. "Yes, It did. People seemed sympathetic of me and tipped well. I mean... It's not that I'm ungrateful for it, but..." She sighed with a shrug, though she still smiled. "Sorry, I'm not really sure how to say it. But how are you? You must of had some trouble somewhere if you managed it miss my shift by this much. You're usually pretty consistent with that."

"Hey don't be like that." He tipped her chin up a little. "I'm sure it was just your smile that won them over. Well, that and your lovely assistant." He winked at Arietta. "But uh yeah, I had a job to do over thataway. It was a bit of a handful. The guy had hired a couple of amateurs before me and that only made the problem worse. I actually got a little scratch." He placed a hand on his arm to indicate the injury, the cut had closed itself already so the only sign of the wound was the little bit of dried blood. "So, you and Raph have a date tonight?"

"Lumina, " He whispered softly from behind her. Raphael always appeared in a whisper now. His shoes left no sound as he walked. Nor did his clothes swish in the wind, or sound when they clapped together. He had the gift of Silence. "Do you know if any place is hiring?"

As Raphael approached Nicolai's caste mark, a solid golden circle, appeared on his forehead alerting him to something. He looked around, there were long shadows nearby, but there wasn't anything evil making itself known. He gripped Raphael's shoulder strongly with his left hand and whispered aggressively, "Raph, have you been followed? Or had any strange feelings?" Since there wasn't any creature of darkness making itself apparent he scrutinized everything. Looking for any shadows that looked or moved oddly, an unusually distorted reflection in a window mirror or puddle, a puff of smoke that just seemed to hang there, vermin that were behaving strangely, or any one of dozens of strange things that would give away a dark entity. He flexed his right hand as if grasping a blade.
