Well it seems Haseo has two different forms. One that looks younger and seen above on this forum's logo thing... and then the cresent moon with two lines as seen with his... "Bad ass" self where he has tons of armor and spikes.
He has the "Cresent moon" face painting when he's fighting Tri-Edge and then after being Data Drained it looks like his armor is ripped off and we see him in a green area floating and he then has the light belt armor on with the lightning mark.

Aha, I see them now.
Well, maybe the lightning marks represent the speed of the Twin Blade form. Ya know, as fast as lightning...or whatever.
But, the "crescent moon" shape as it has been called has 4 spikes. Haseo uses 4 weapons (counting the twin chain daggers as 2 weapons).
I dunno. Just doesn't seem like an element thing.

I don't think someone's element had that much to do with their face painting. I mean I do recall hearing something said on that before but from what I've seen through out .hack is that their doesn't seem to be a limit to the face painting. My imagination always figured when you make your character you get to design it much like in a mini paint program. I mean I've seen letters, symbols, waves, spikes, even something as unique as a heart like Mimiru's first character had.
Now, the fact Haseo has two reminds me of the fact he's a multi-weapon. I highly doubt anything like that would be easily given to someone and we have seen what seems like a past Haseo [The scene where he says "Thank..."] He sounds a bit younger too. I think Haseo somehow gained that class through an event or maybe he earned it. Maybe Haseo had a character [The one with the lightning bolts] and then at somepoint got an upgrade which added armor and the power to use Multi-weapons [When he has the cresent moon face mark thing]
I also noticed in the trailer's in game scenes you see the Haseo without the big armor and he's using other weapons so maybe my idea is wrong... hmm..

The paint on a char is to show there element we get that from Albireo saying he was painted with his element of earth in .hack//AI buster
From what we seen Haseo has two looks it just seems that when Haseo changes looks he changes elements

Well yes, Albireo has the symbols for the element earth on like his arm and such, however I'm positive that a face painting is not limited to an element. I've seen too many face paintings and body ones that don't match element signs. In this sense I don't think we should specifically say something like Haseo has two elements. There could be other reasons for his change of sign on his face.

Well let's think back to the past .hack games and look at what element they had the highest stat in. Yes, all characters besides Kite had an element that was higher for some reason...
Kite: well, he's balanced unless you count his starting armor had a fire spell and his face painting was red..
BlackRose: Yellow - Fire [Nope]
Orca: Green - Earth [Nope]
Elk: Green - Darkness [Nope]
So if that's something to help, it shows the color doesn't say what element you picked. Also what about those without body or face paint?
Oh... and my source for what everyone's stats will be without armor/weapon ad-ons is this..

I figured the color really didn't matter, just throwing out options.
Yeah, and then there are those players without paint, as said.
The whole Albireo-Earth thing probably only applies to him. That may just be the reason he chose his markings.

yes that is what i was going to say it seems more like that was the case in the older verson of The World and not nowTheTriEdge wrote:Well maybe in the beginning it was like that. You'd get a simple element sign and you could put it anywhere on your character's body. Then as The World got more up-dated, you were able to do whatever you wanted.

Well there has been proof of up-dates like this.
Fragments had the different way of going to areas.
In the start of The World there were only 6 classes.
In .hack//SIGN I'd seen fighters and archers.
We've seen Puchiguso races added.
UdeDen had new classes like WereWolf
G.U. has new classes too.
With that in mind I'm sure it wouldn't have been a big jump to add more options to the tattoos.
Back to the question at hand though, why would Haseo have 2 forms though? or even so why does it seem like Tri-Edge Data Drained Haseo into a weaker looking character with lightning painting instead of the spikes/cresent moon?
I'm going to wait for the game to find out but wanted to put the topic back on track I guess.

Yes, Fighters and Werewolves were released at the same time, during LotTB. Archers were shown in SIGN in the backgrounds of a crowd, but Shinsou Wotan mentioned that in Analysis their class is listed as "???" or something to that extent.PyroTwilight wrote:I thought Fighters and Werewolves were both released at the same time. Of the 179 characters with entries in Analysis, 178 had their class listed as one of the known classes (Long Arm, Heavy Axe, Blademaster, Heavy Blade, Twin Blade, Wavemaster, or (in Ouka's case) Werewolf). The one exception was the apparent archer from episode 17 of SIGN, whose class is listed as 不明, meaning "unknown" or "uncertain".milliennium_fox wrote:Yes, Fighters and Werewolves were released at the same time, during LotTB.
