Re: Demon's souls
"My, how rude.... I would have taken ample care of that useless Demonbrandt," Namine said mostly to herself as she turned and walked away to wait for the next run of things. As she walked down the stairs to see one of Urbain's followers at the blacksmith, she frowned. They needed to find the Saint soon. Only he had real control over the Zealots, unlike Namine whom could not truely stop them. They were turning rabid, and with the Saint, they could start a war in this Nexus and truly send this world to Hell. "Dammit, Urbain... You picked a great time to ghost off for your vacation..."

((Okay for the mean while I'm giving another run at getting more to join, if you wish to join please PM me ASAP so I could do something to let you in, if you want to know the rules of this RP please check the first page))
"I think they need help" said Blige as he was talking to the sage "why do you say that?" replied freke, "its because they told me that a magician they were traveling with was killed", "Magician's..." muttered the sage "cheap amateurs who can only perform parlor ticks." Blige looked puzzled and asked "arent you alexis and the other girl magicians?" the sage frowned and replied "I'm a sage, and they're both spell casters" Blige just remained silent and let the sage continue his work, and then the sage spoke "still I think its best if there were more, go find those willing to join them then" blige nodded and went to look.

"Sage I couldnt find any besides zealots." said blige as he approached the sage, "very well then, I guess they shall have to do the journey on their own".
Alexis went to find the others and assembled them at the archstones, "I trust you all had a good time off?" asked the sage as he presented the new area through the archstone, "this place is called the shrine of storms, I heard that some cult used to inhabit the island and worship death and heroes, and dont tell the zealots but I also found out that saint urbain is in there, I think you would do us all a favor if you put a blade up his skull." said the sage as they prepared to leave Alexis handed Kale his equipment and they all went to touch the archstone and left.

"Well wasn't that absolutely inspirational?" being a lord among theives he had always known to never take anything for granted, but he felt he deserved a little extra loot, but that would have to wait. His bow slung against his back and Halberd in his hands, he was now ready for whatever was in store for him next. He had to show his true abilities.

"matthew, you can have this" said Roy as he presented something to matthew, it was a small hook connected to a long piece of rope "assuming you scale walls".
Re: Demon's souls
Hmm its nice... he began twirling it absent mindedly as old memories stirred its even better than my other one. "How do you know my name?" Does that mean this guy knows the truth about me?

I remember nothing of the sort He reached out and touched the archstone. The sensation of teleportation intrigued him. He was anxous to see the land, and more important the loot. And if i had i never use my first name....

Kale raised an eyebrow. "I could of sworn I gave this to Matthew and this to Namine." He waited until the others had all gone through before turning to the sage. "Not that I don't trust you, but I'm an herbalist, not an assassin, if I'm going to kill someone I need a good reason to do so. Especially since I'm carrying around this thing. Inciting fanaticism is annoying, but rarely a just cause for killing them. Why should I help kill this Saint Urbain?"

Re: Demon's souls
"Dont make me laugh, the saint and I are no different, he calls his soul arts miracles while I call mine soul arts, he had 4 of my disciples lynched and had me branded as a heretic, that and he also serves the old one which he calls his god, he ought to be the heretic, but if you could knock some sense into the fool then fine, you can spare him then." gruffly replied the sage.
Re: Demon's souls
"Leaders of fanatics are either as fanatical as their followers or are manipulating them, which is even worse, but you know that already. Am I right in assuming you've been no more tolerant than Urbain?" Kale wasn't sure why he was suddenly so concerned with whether he should or should not kill someone. Maybe it was the blasted sword talking. "You know what, nevermind. Whatever you have to say will make no difference. I'm sure Alexis will be more than happy to kill him for you, no matter what I may think." He touched the stone and appeared behind the others. "Sorry, I was making sure I had everything in order. By the way, if I divide guardianship of my things in the future, I would like it if they remained divided. I don't like surprises that involve my things not being where I left them."

Re: Demon's souls
after they departed they found themselves on an island with pile's of human remains nearby, "well it seems like we dont have to worry about any soulless attacking us" said Alexis, but as they walked up they saw a wall and noticed a shut gate, "Bollock's it seems like we're gonna have to find a way around, unless one of us could climb that wall" said Alexis as they stood looking at the wall.
Re: Demon's souls
"Yeah yeah, don't worry." He twirled the the rope with ease causing the hook to spin just the way it needed to. A second later it swung through the air and caught itself on the top. He tugged the rope and began making his ascend after he was sure it was safe. Why do i always get the dirty work?

Re: Demon's souls
Namine stood quietly by, thinking as to what Sage Freke said to them. ...and don't tell the zealots, but I also found out that Saint Urbain is in there. I think you would do us all a favor if you put a blade up his skull... She frowned at she thought about the impact it would have, a dark aura wreathing her hips for the barest instinct. Urbain's death would leave them in the leaderless state they were in now, attacking like barely controlled, Rabid dogs. At best, they would make her the new leader, but that truly wasn't all that appealing to her. She hated admit her failings, but she needed Urbain as her 'leash' to make them manageable and, more or less, passive. She knew that the best way to achieve her ultimate goal was through the combination of the Three Arts: Sage Freke's 'Soul Arts', Saint Urbain's 'Miracles', and Witch Yuria's 'Witchcraft'. She knew most of the arts Freke had to offer, but Urbain had left before he's taught her his final Miracles and Yuria was being held in Boletaria still. Like Yuria, Namine needed Urbain alive.
In this came the usually problem. Namely, Alexis, Freke's ever loyal puppy. Namine had little doubt that she would make the attempt on Urbain's life almost immediately. Namine also had little doubt that if and when she interfered to save Saint Urbain, Alexis would bear her fangs at Namine next. And that would be a problem in the long run, of that she had little doubt as well. At the very least, it would prove to be interesting, to say the least. It might also be prudent to consider the necessity for a quick escape. She would keep that in mind as she looked at an interesting black band sitting on the ground and pocketed it. It would come in handy later.

Kale waited a moment, the others seemed content to just watch Matthew climb. He whispered, "Brute force seems to have failed us yet again." With that he ran up the side of the wall a short ways, grabbed hold of the rope, and followed after Matthew. I guess we'll be opening the door for them. Like the good gentlemen we are. As they got close they could hear a pair of guards on the wall above. Kale and Matthew went to either side of a rampart, waited for them to pass by, hopped up, and ran daggers into their skulls. They shrugged their bows into their hands and took measure of the place, looking for the door mechanism. Spotting it they nodded to each other, Matthew recovered his grappling hook and Kale covered him. When that was taken care of they started playing lock, hand, key(rock, paper, scissors) to decide who got the door and the guardhouse that went with it, and who would deal with the other sentries.
((Hope you don't mind what I had Matthew do. On the plus side, you get to decide who does what.))

((No its fine, you do well with Heartwright at your hand.))
He walked back a ways to reville in his defeat, Guess he was stuck with the dirty work. He pulled a few arrows out of the nearby corpses quiver and placed them in his own. He would have to be careful to kill them out of the sight of the others.

Re: Demon's souls
He slowly retrieved the rope from around his waist and tied it around himself as an impromptu repelling harness. Kale tied the other end to the inner rampart and took a deep breath. Rapid repelling was easy, rapid repelling whilst firing a bow? now that was a challenge. He waited until Matthew had taken out a couple of the sentries before he fired the first shot and jumped. The first shot sailed true striking a man in the throat, the second hit a man in the chest, the third a shoulder, and the final shot before he ran out of line grazed a man's cheek. As the rope went taught jerking him back Kale dropped the bow, flicked out a dagger and cut himself free as he pushed off the wall. He threw a pair of knives into men that had come to "catch" him and used their collapsing corpses to soften his relatively short fall. He grabbed one of their spears and ran towards the gate when the guard house door swung open he leaped into the air throwing the javelin into the door forcing the man to jerk back, stalling him for a moment.
The two survivors of the original four guards that had been guarding the mechanism charged Kale. He rolled beneath the first one's swing, grabbed the wrist of the second, the one with the injured arm, and made him stab himself before flicking a knife into the first man's arm followed by the second man's sword into his chest. An arrow sailed over Kale's head, catching the guard that had been charging him from behind in the eye. He drew the demonsbrandt and a dagger clashing with a guard for a moment before throwing the dagger into the next man's leg. Rather than parry the next blow Kale ducked inside the man's arms kicked him between the legs and jammed a knife into his skull. He knocked aside the next sword and ran the man through with the demonsbrandt. At this point a half dozen more men had poured out of the guardhouse and had surrounded Kale. He withdrew a smokebomb from a pouch and threw it to the ground blinding the men and allowing Kale to make short work of them with the demonsbrandt and the magic dagger. He stabbed his weapons into the ground beside the gate mechanism and began turning it. Blasted gates, why do they always have to be the easy to close but hard to open versions. An arrow pinged off the demonsbrandt and when he looked over to see his assailant he saw an arrow sticking out of the man's throat.
With little over a foot raised Namine rolled beneath the gate. When he had raised the gate a few feet more, the two knights made it through. Namine used a body to stop the gate from closing all the way. "Good idea." He commented, he didn't think they would need to use it again, but you never know and for the moment, they had managed to avoid raising the alarm since Matthew had dealt with all of the nearby sentries before they could let anybody know. Kale's arms were sore and there would be bruises from the harness but he was otherwise unharmed and before anyone could propose they do anything else, he retrieved his rope and his weapons. He licked the cut end of the rope and sighed as he wound it back around his waist. He pulled on the harness and shrugged, who knows, he might need to go repelling again before too long.

As they moved on Alexis noticed a pile of bones near the entrance and went to take a look only for the bones to get up and attack her, she dodged its attacks but stepped on some sort of mechanism and next thing she knew arrows were shooting out of the walls, "Shite! The place is booby trapped watch your steps!" yelled Alexis as the nearby bone piles started forming humanoid shapes and started attacking the party.

Re: Demon's souls
Namine ducked a glowing, magic arrow even as she blew a Soul ray through a Skeleton's ribcage. To the Soul Arts, a lack of flesh was not an advantage. If anything, the lack of flesh to stop the spell meant it was easier to blow large holes in one's being. She stood and blew another skeleton a large Fireball when another glowing, magic arrow hit her in the shoulder. "Hey, Alexis! The Archers are using Holy arrows. Watch yourself!" she warned as she dodged a third one to annihilate the Skeleton Archer with another Fireball. But by then, the Holy arrow in her shoulder was drawing the attention of the few surviving Skeletons the seemed to only just notice her now and rushed in. "Dammit, cheap tricks.." she said with annoyance as she raised a glowing hand, slamming it to the ground as the three Skeletons lunged for her. "Know your Place!" The shimmered, then burned as a massive conflagration engulfed her and the Skeletons. When it faded, only Namine still stood there as she yanked the arrow from her shoulder, once more becoming IFF-less, and healed her shoulder with a glowing hand.
