he fell back behind the others. He was no good in a fight. At least thats what he told them. He of course was a lord of theives. Nobody would really know that though, Except maybe Kale, and kale didn't seem to take an intrest in it. Just act stupid, he told himself

He hopped backwards and handed his bow and quiver with it's few remaining arrows to Matthew. "If I'm fighting then so are you. Make them count, and make sure it doesn't kill me or I swear I will come back as a phantom and kill you." He put away his pipe and with a flick of the wrist a dagger appeared in his off hand and he pulled out the demonbrandt. Not the shiny new dagger, he kind of sort of forgot he had it at the moment. Ok sword you listen to me, am I pure of heart? Hell no, but I consider myself a good man and I'm the best man you're going to get anytime soon. Heck, I haven't even stolen anything in weeks nor do I intend to. So hurry up and work a little for me, at least be sharp. As he dashed around the room, looking for a chance to exploit any weakness in the beast's defense, he became acutely aware that the injuries he had sustained fighting the tower knight still hadn't healed. It was just a fractured rib so it did not impair his movement, but it still hurt. After this fight with the dragon god he was taking a break from blood and death.

"For the goddess of theives!" He released his arrow it flew straight and true, it passed perfectly between Kale's elbow and body, hit its target, and bounced away. "Ahk! what is this thing!"

((Ahh! Sorry for not posting sooner. I kept getting sidetracked or falling asleep, and, yeah...))

"Soul Ray!" An arrow of azure power shot through the Flamelurker, making it stagger back, the flames sealing the hole over as it oriented and charged its new target, the Sorceress Namine. A smile, cruel and dark came to her face, a mischievous glint in her eye, as she fired two more Soul Rays into the beast seemingly without phasing it as it leapt high to come down on her. Without hesitation, she ran toward it at as sprint, diving beneath it in time to have it come down behind her with a blast of flames and heat that bodily tossed her to land roughly at Kale's feet. "Slight miscalculation," she said as she rose, steam rising off her body from the Water Veil she cast earlier, just before joining the fight. "Honestly! Do you really trust me so little to leave me in the Nexus like that? It took me forever to figure out that you all had come here," she said with mock indignation and a smile that revealed nothing.

((Given we're in a dragon's graveyard and we're here to kill a dragon god, I'm assuming this flamelurker thing is a dragon. Correct me if I'm wrong.))
Kale smiled at Namine's entrance. "Very slight miscalculation." He shook his head bemused. "And I trusted you to find us. Besides you ran off on your own when we arrived in Nexus. In fact, everyone did, but at least you had the decency not to leave after kissing me without any explanation." The beast turned their direction and Kale loosed the knife at it, catching the beast in the mouth just as it started to breathe fire at he and Namine. The flames instead jerked off to the side of them. "Well, as much as I enjoy our little chats, and I do enjoy them, I fear we should cut this one short." He flicked another knife into his hand and gave her an off-hand salute as he sped back off. It was still focused on Namine, and he really couldn't blame it after all she was like a siege weapon, Kale used the distraction to run up on it's flank and plunge the demonbrandt into it's leg. At the last moment he stumbled remembering what happened with the tower knight and then he was promptly smacked by the tail, but in retaliation Kale slammed his dagger into the tail before the force of it threw him and he came to a rolling stop next to Namine thanks to stabbing the demonbrandt into the ground. "Y'know, I think I figured out what might have caused our slight miscalculation. It's bigger than us." He blew a strand of hair out of his face and sprang back to his feet.

He spun the blade around once, glancing at the edge. It didn't look any different, but at least it had cut something for him, even if it was only the dirt. He put a leaf in his mouth and rushed the flank again, his minor attack before didn't seem to have made it think twice about him yet. He didn't pause this time and it reacted as it had before by trying to swipe him with it's tail. He dropped to his knees and slid beneath the tail, putting a hand to the ground he sprang up over it when it came back around and he made a cut into it's leg on his way back to the ground. Yes! He seemed to have gained it's attention though as it spun it's head around and opened it. He did the first thing he could think of, flick a dagger into his hand and shout "FIRE!" The two bursts of flame collided and the force of their collision sent Kale sailing backwards through Alexis and onto the floor behind her. He managed to land on his back and to hold onto both weapons. Y'know, now that I think about it, why do I have all the magical items? That's like putting a great big kill me sign on my forehead. He looked up at the dragon, or rather at Alexis's back. On the plus side, I couldn't hit her, on the down side, she couldn't catch me. The drugs were starting to go to work and he forgot about his injuries as he hopped back to his feet.

((A valid assumption, considering the current circumstances. But no. Flamelurker effectively resembles a flaming, fire-covered Ifrit more then anything. But I have no problems with this Dragonic Flamelurker. After all, we've 'skipped' other bosses anyway.))

With a mighty roar, the Flamelurker charged Alexis and Kale when a veritable wall of force slammed the side of the Major Demon with enough power to momentarily topple the beast mid run. Namine danced back to give herself more room as the Demon got to its feet, it's body glowing hotter and brighter, and jumped for her. Power came to her hands, two rings glowing strongly as she concentrated. "God's Wrath!" she yelled, thrusting her hands at the Demon, as another wall of force blasted out to meet Flamelurker's fiery shockwave. "Hey, Alexis! I know the Sage must of taught you something powerful and Non-element. Hurry and finish it while its back is open!" Namine called out as she continued to hold the Miracle against the Flamelurker.

"Soul Ray!" with that spell casted a ray of light went straight through the flamelurker impaling it, "is it dead?" asked Roy, "Yes, its dead" replied alexis, but its body was disappearing and when it fully disapeared it left behind a soul, "the flamelurker's soul..." muttered alexis, she then took the soul and stored it "well that takes care of that with this soul, sage freke would be pleased" then they noticed a pathway and went in, after walking a considerable distance they finally heard an ear splitting roar....

"I'm guessing that would be our host. Think he's mad about his bouncer?" He asked jovially, he kept glancing behind in case something decided to try a pincer attack or a simpe ambush. It's what he would do, but of course if it were him then they would all have been gassed with a potent poison already, or he would have at least sent more than one thing to greet them. It would probably have consisted of a dozen or so bruisers and at least half that many archers using poisoned arrows and have some pitfalls or at least a few shuriken traps set up, especially if he knew where they would be coming from. And the big thing would just have been the icing on the cake. Of course, he also wouldn't be waiting for them. He'd be getting the hell out of there. Because if someone managed to make it past all of that, he would not have felt confident about facing them alone.

"this place was built as a shrine to the dragon god, for he is worshiped by the miners here, but they sealed off the temple area after they discovered that it was leaking lava" said alexis.

Namine walked at the rear of the small group. Though she stated it was for rear guard purposes, Namine knew that noting was likely to attack them here and knew that Alexis probably knew as well. Mostly, she wanted a moment to check her gauntlets in relative privacy before they challenged the Arch-Demon, Dragon God. All Soul Arts, whether Miracle or Spell, 'needed' a catalyst of some type or an equivalent to function properly. Well, needed one if the caster was weak. It was a mark of the strong to do so without such trivial things. Alexis, Freke, and herself all could without them. But she preferred to boost herself by using them. And for Namine, her equivalent was her gauntlets, one for Miracles and one for Spells.

As they walked on further a voice boomed and they all stopped and as it turns out it was sage freke, "can you hear me over there? I forgot to tell you something a while back when you get to the dragon god make sure to fire the two mounted harpoons at it to tie it down I hope you heard this message!" after that awkward moment they continued on until they were in the dragon gods lair, "RUN" yelled Alexis as she dodged the flames coming out of it mouth and hid behind a derelict pillar.

"Hey, when we get there. Keep him busy. I'll get the harpoons. Does that work for everyone?" Kale asked after the sage was done talking.

Like you have to say it? He leaped to the side and dug the dagger into the side of a pillar. After a brief moment some dust and toe sized rocks fell down from above him and Kale looked around frantically for the harpoons. Spotting them he jumped from the pillar as it started to fall over. He hurried to the nearest bunch of shadows and started making his way to the harpoons. He hoped between his skills and the ring he would manage to avoid drawing it's attention until he had gotten at least one shot off.

"SHOOT! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! SHOOT!" screamed Alexis as the dragon god kept blowing at her direction, Roy was using a flame resistant shield while namine was attacking it from elsewhere.

The first harpoon went out followed quickly by the second and then a Kale flew over the edge of the platform the harpoons were on just as a gout of flame came in his direction, narrowly missing him. He rolled to a stop on the ground and glared up at Alexis shouting, "Y'know, yelling won't make it happen any faster." The dragon god roared. "NO! We are having a conversation. You stay quiet!" Kale's remarks only made it angry and it shot more flames at him. He ran up a pillar and jumped off backwards, landing just as the last of the flames passed. "Ok, fine. You go first."

"Fine then" she dashed off to the next harpoon all while avoiding the dragon gods breath and once she made it she fired it at the dragon god, the mighty beast was soon helpless and the group charged at it, but before they could reach it Alexis used a huge blunt looking sword to finish it off, "where did you get that?" asked Roy, Alexis replied "a corpse over there had it, it looks blunt but I kind of like it".

"A corpse..." Namine looked back to where Alexis pointed, a curious look on her face. Where had she seen that thing again...? Then it came to her. "I-I see... Well, in any case, now that we've attained the Soul of an Arch-Demon, the fog protecting the Boletaria palace and Allant is no longer capable of holding us back," Namine said as she held out her hand, the Arch-Demon Soul flying to her hand. "Anyway, we should probably head back to plan our next move. We can reach the Nexus via that chuck of archstone that," she finished as she pointed to the sword and Archstone that formed as the Dragon God's body finished vanishing.

As they began materializing in the nexus they saw the sage tinkering with one of the archstones, "Ah welcome back, I see you have the dragon god's soul, may I" he said as he reached out his hand, alexis gave it to him and he examined it closely, "well you all must be tired, why dont you go rest while I try to get the archstones working? The archstone to the palace isnt working properly as if something is preventing me from tracing it, so I'm trying to repair the archstone to the shrine of storms, they say saint urbain went there and disapeared, its a shame he left behind these zealots." with that he went back to work and the group planned to rest.

"Oh thank goodness. My rib's killing me. If you lot need me, I'll be in a bed doped up on something. Sage, y'know where I can find one of those? Great, thanks." Kale handed the dagger to Matthew, the bracelet to Alexis, and the Demonbrandt to Namine. "I'll get those back from you lot later. For now, good night." Kale disappeared to follow the sage's directions.

"I'll take those" said Alexis as she the items kale gave them, "I'll be taking better care of them, for the meanwhile I'll be studying" with that she left followed silently by Roy, she went to a corner and pulled out a book from the sage's belonging's entitled "Magical inventions and innovations: By Sage Gerri".
