I'll take this chance to talk about the Chest Capture mode thing!! o3o Yeah i played it a couple of times last night, along with testing abilities to see if there were any changes...so if any of you want to do any testing for changes, let me save you the time and tell you there aren't any changes at all. Abilities like Poison and Charge still work and behave the very same way, and the ONLY change i noticed is that the bored-announcer-lady now says a wider description when the match starts (for example: "Assassin. Your objective is to find and assassinate the assigned targets of the opposite team." instead of just "Your objective is to find and assassinate the targets".)
Anyways...
The Chest Capture mode consists in 2 teams of 2-4 players, with one team assigned to kill the other, and the other team has to hide and stuff, exactly like in Manhunt. However, the "defending" side (we'll call them "Hunters") now has to capture certain chests that appear in random areas of the map. Only 3 chests appear at the same time on the map, usually in open/populated areas with roads, benches and hiding spots overall to help the capture. To capture a chest, the Hunters must stay within a ranged area, easily marked as a circle in their screen whenever close to the chest (it's probably a range of 4 meters, 6 at most), and once they're in the area, a small icon will start to fill up (identical to the Loot icon thingy on Single Player)...and once the icon fills up, the chest will be considered captured, it'll disappear, and it'll grant 150 point. I'm not sure, however, if the points are granted to each player, or to the team as a whole per capture; in other words...if all 4 players capture one chest, i don't know if each player gets +150 (+600 for the team total), or if the team just gets +150 as a whole regardless of how many players helped. And a great advantage to the Hunter team is that the icon bar will NEVER decrease...so it doesn't matter much if they die, since their capture progress remains, and if it's almost full, then a Hunter can easily run through the chest area for a quick capture. On the other hand, the "attacking" side ("Assassins") get no change in their gameplay style at all...they still only have to hunt the other players for points. However, whenever they get in the range of a chest (a range larger than it is for Hunters, invisible as well), their Compass gets all scrambled, and so they have to rely on abilities such like Templar Vision, Firecrackers or Morph to locate capturing Hunters.
Sounds fun, and it kinda is...but personally i don't like it much, and i can't definetly adapt to such style ;X Whenever i'm in the Hunting team, i get shot and charged all over and my Long-Lasting Disguise and Smoke Bombs don't help much. And when i'm in the Assassin team, i can't decide if to just hunt players like it was Manhunt...or camp somewhere close to a chest area and wait for them to come, though if i do the latter, i get Smoked/Muted all over D; So yep, i prefer Manhunt. lol
Exiousa wrote:Smoke bomb actually works as a good counter with charge, which I forgot to mention for some reason!!
Have you actually stopped a Charge with a Smoke Bomb? Because i don't think it works...as i have Charged against players who have use Smoke Bomb/Mute as soon as they see me approach, and my character simply runs through it and initiates the death sequence without caring about it. I've also tried to stop a charge with a Smoke Bomb and got the same results. Maybe it'll work if you see the charger from a far-enough distance, and if the Smoke Bomb area is far enough from you...but in such situation, then it is best to use a Throwing Knife, or simply move away.
Exiousa wrote:I need to get me a mic for the PS3, trying to type on those things is not good on the pad :D
I don't have a mic either and i think i'll really need one, especially if i intent to do such a coordinate trophy boosting. However, i'm not the best english speaker out there (i'm mexican), nor i'm THAT good at understanding others speaking it (especially with the people that seem to breathe on the mic more than talk .___.)...so i think i'd end up repeating myself too much, failing at pronouncing some words, and saying "What" too much 'XDD lol
Exiousa wrote:back to ACB, though have you used the "Blender" perk sorrow? really nice to use this one!
Is it really? I've honestly never used it...but i'm not too sure if it'll work well. After all, if i see some character walking around to a blending position, and then see how someone close to him turns into his clone, i'll immediatly locate him as my "target", saving me some Firecrackers or Templar Vision and giving me plenty of chances to even Poison him. My current perks are Resistance and Fast Getaway...and i don't think they're that helpful either, but eh, better than Autobash XD lol
Exiousa wrote:You can also disarm the big sword and axe wielding ones too! The trick is to dodge the first move, the disarm on the second swing of there attacks! If you want to be a bit more daring then disarm on the 3rd sequence of the attack, this one is a guaranteed disarm if you can time it right! In fact the third attack sequence is the one that works better on the Papal guards, as they can be very tough to disarm, they don't always lose there weapon on the second disarm.
Oh wow, i didn't know that O: Yeah, Papal Guards are very hard to disarm, and the only times i've succeeded is when i let myself get hit by their first attack, and then Counter/Disarm on their second or third attack. But i didn't know that, when you Dodged their first attack, they'd still continue their attack and allow you to disarm them. Gotta try this sometime! o3o
Exiousa wrote:Of course one part you need to be careful with, you can actually pick up any weapon and it will sheath itself as your primary sword! Provided you have the item purchased already I think! I have not tested this with a weapon I don't own. Will let you know as I am already on my second play through.
I know why this happens. Whenever you're wielding a "Heavy" weapon and you throw it (which is indeed very awesome), you "lose" that weapon. And with no "default sword" equipped (it's an empty slot), the very next non-dagger weapon you pick will instantly become your equipped weapon (rather than just a Held one). The best would be to pick your Heavy weapon back, but if you don't and instead you pick an enemy Rapier sword (for example), you'll be equipped with that Rapier from now on, and even if you pick your Heavy weapon then it won't "replace" your Rapier. In other words, when you have no default sword equipped, the next one you pick will become your default one, and since you can't "lose" Medium swords (throwing them or whatever), you'll remain with that Medium sword equipped until you change it at a Blacksmith or the Assassin's Hideout.
Exiousa wrote:My brother thinks I am insane too, sometimes I look for ways on some games to make things harder! I completed res evil 5 on the PC on Hardcore and same with Batman Arkham! Still got Uncharted 2 on Crushing left to do! XD
And i'm just as insane as you, by either playing games in the hardest difficult settings, completing them to 100% in every possible way, or making the game challenging on my own means (and usually...all 3 xDDD) I've also finished Resident Evil 5 in Professional Mode (and with the fastest times) and Uncharted 2 in Crushing Mode as well, adquiring the Platinum Trophies for both games. Of course, such a discussion about games/difficulty/trophies/etc would be best to have in a different topic.
I suppose you've finished AC: Brotherhood with 100% Full Synchronization already, right? And what about all Virtual Training challenges on Gold medal? ;P
