Hi! It seems to me that there is a fair amount of Persona/SMT fans here on the forums. Basically this is a Persona Discussion topic. Let's talk about the series in general, the art, the music, plot-points, any questions about the series itself, news, ideas for the future, opinions and etc.

I'll start, Does anyone else miss Philemon or Nyarlathotep(Massacre). I get that he's still watching over the MC in the recent games as a blue butterfly but he doesn't make an appearance anymore like in the first Persona and Innocent sin/Eternal Punishment. Of course the creators did say they wanted to change things up in 3 and 4 but still I wonder...
They did say they want to mix some stuff up in Persona 5 in production. And I didn't get a chance to fight Nyalathotep yet in P2 (not that far) and might just wait for the P2P but might not lol
I'd personally love to see Philemon as the True Final boss in Persona 5 but he can't "interfere" with the players activity. That'd be so cooler than fighting Izanami-no-Okami (and she was pretty epic)

I think he might make a small appearance in P5, but i dont think he will have that big of a role compared to P1 and P2:IS and EP.

Lol I didnt event notice the misspelling. Once i saw SMT i clicked away.

But yes hopefully they bring him back in P5. I thought it was pretty damn stupid that he didnt even get a reference in P3 and P4. The butterfly would be a reference but no character blatantly says hey its Philemon, which makes it a little dissappointing.

Yes, exactly. I'm not saying everyone but people who got into the series by playing P3 are clueless when I mention Philemon. I mean I started out playing P3 first but I looked into the meanings and played the earlier games to find out more. It's a shame most of the fanbase nowadays are by P3 and they don't even know who Philemon is. Same with my friends IRL.
Speaking of the butterfly references, I don't believe Philemon/Butterfly ever appeared in Trinity Soul. Only Igor did, which is a dead giveaway about Philemon but don't remember seeing him/references about him whatsoever. Of course it could be because of the disaster back when Shin, Ryo, and Jun were kids back at the same time as The Fall and Whale of course but... wait maybe it was something else that triggered it, I think, I haven't watched that last 3 eps yet STILL (have all eps on ps3 except those 3 and youtube is slow for me to watch) I think I remembered hearing about it somewhere. Maybe it doesn't matter? in the P3P artbook the anime is considered to be a non-canonical entry in the series

and not that many seeds on it. I got into it for the animation, Akihiko being in it, and the second opening was done by FLOW and is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! well IMO

Aren't they making P2P? I know it's Innocent Sin is in it so I wouldn't doubt they'd add EP to it as well. They wouldn't do that to us right? RIGHT?!?!
Man what a fine web the whole MT and SMT series are. Always intertwining.
What I want from Catherine is a gameplay trailer at least for now and a solid release date. Does anyone else think that Travis would look good with a skull-style scythe for a main weapon? I do! I didn't really play Strange Journey that much to begin with. I wanted to play all the other games they released before. But even a used copy of any of the titles is like 40+ at my local gamestore. I personally don't want ANY other Persona 3 spin-offs, FES was great but P3P was like, I already played this before but now I get to be a chick. I think that's the only reason I have P3P, just to see the extra stuff and content. How about a Persona 4 sequel, can anyone say Teenage Nanako as new MC?

After which we waited a year to find out we didn't get this game and instead got the second part of this game where the protagonist is Ken the necrophiliac who has spent the last 5 years of his life searching for Shinji's grave for obvious reasons. On an anonymous tip (from Hope Estheim) he's led to Inaba just at the same time as Souji Seta who now has a very light mustache because unlike his dead predecessor who didn't even have the decency to grow pubes, Detective Seta actually has HONOR (and testicles). Hijinx happen and then we fight tentacle beast Nyar-I'mnottypingtherest of this who thought Nanako's strange death was awesome and wants to use the now living her for tentacle pleasure of some sort. Then we stopped writing about this and focused on Persona 3, THE SNOW QUEEN'S QUEST.

So anyways what do you guys think of the new Persona 2 Psp remake? I for one I extremely excited for it since I never played it. From what I heard though of the combat, it didnt sound very...interestingh. im hoping they revamp it with this remake though.

They will likely only make it slightly more user friendly/faster as they did with 1. Only issue I had is that it relied too much on fusion techniques.

Yeah I didn't fuse persona's in Innocent Sin that much than I should've lol
And I'm so excited for the remake! Ironic though since I've been playing the Innocent Sin translated patch for awhile though lol Idk if I should continue playing that one or wait for P2P to come out, what should I do?

Honestly you should conitinue playing the patch just because right now they have not announced a localization of P2P:IS yet. Or you if you can wait til they announce it for NA then just play something else for the time being.

I meant that they focus more on having you use two or more members to perform fusion spells together similarly to the special skills of two resonating Personae in 3 (think Lucifer/Helel and Satan, which you may also fave fun times with in 2 on ANYONE except Philemon who's immune)

Yeah i noticed that from some gameplay videos I watched. Well from what I heard, they are updating the battle system to the one used in Eternal Punishment. I have no clue what thats like since I didnt play that either. Hopefully its not like IS where the battle just autoplays out unless you stop it to change tactics.
