Re: Unsung heroes
Problem solved, but remember to huggle AnimeMonkey next time you see her for thanking her about it :3 lol
Now...Who is the most unsung hero in .Hack?
You know me well enough to predict my answer. Starts with a "H" and ends with a "o", and it sounds like "Henako". Freaking similar sounding, in fact.
And don't even ask why, it was because of her and her only that Kite managed to defeat the Phases, and Haseo managed to defeat Cubia. She was as important to the main story as Ovan or perhaps even Aura herself. Not to mention she's the strongest character in all of the GU series, so much the creators had to leave her at lv100 on Vol. 3 Redemption, else the game would've been completely unbeatable except with Gameshark/Action Replay usage or something like that. If there's a hero that deserved so much credit and yet was given none, it is definetly Henako.

Can you please refresh my memory as too who Henako is? Because I remember her as just some random NPC from IMOQ and GU and that in GU you could trade with her to get those Books that give you weapon exp.TheSorrow wrote:Problem solved, but remember to huggle AnimeMonkey next time you see her for thanking her about it :3 lol

She's also an active member in the Apkallu forums, quite the artist as well, and she's the Team Leader of the Arena team called "WE LUV MASTER EN <333" in Vol. 1, and "WE LUV MASTER HASEO" in Vol. 2 and 3. And a bit of jokingness aside, her team is actually the strongest Arena team in Reminisce, as her Skill Trigger spells are very fast and powerful, and she can use them repeatedly faster than all other Team leaders can use their respective arts (like if she has Super Charge equipped...but it's actually just an "innate ability" as she's using Spells and not Arts, faster to charge from).

Ah I see, but i still dont quite understand how she helped out Kite. Unless it was she that posted excerpts or whatever from the Epitaph on the forums.TheSorrow wrote:AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHO SHE IS!!!! 8DDDDTheEnigma wrote:Can you please refresh my memory as too who Henako is? Re: Unsung heroes
I vote for The Sorrow's extreme love for Henako. :p

Re: Unsung heroes
I find TheSorrow's extreme love for one of the lesser characters of the series extremely funny, though Henako is my favorite out of the regular player characters. Moving into more reasonable choice, I'd say heroes. Siliabus and Gaspard played a huge role in G.U. for they were a pretty important part into how Haseo became who he was in the end. Sure, Phyllo, and others were also involved, but those two basically shaped Haseo to a more positive being with things.

Re: Unsung heroes
Well since I never gave my input on the topic, I would have to say Orca could be considered an unsung hero. Before he went into a coma he paved the path for Kite to defeat the phases and save everyone. Not to mention that if he never went into a coma in the first place, ythen who knows what Kite would have been doing in the game.

Kaoru Kaoru - Kaoru Kaoru Kaoru
Kaoru Kaoru - Kaoru Kaoru Kaoru
Looks like I'm just typing his name over and over, but I'm singing it and its amazing.
Saves Kite's ass.
Saves Haseo's ass
Saves Haseo's ass
Saves Haseo's ass
After saving Haseo's ass so many times its no wonder why he feels like he should own it.
And although he is a main character, epitaph user and so on, I still feel like he doesn't get the credit he deserves. I think a lot of people either see him as a npc loving crazy cry baby or later on that creepy gay guy. I guess I just kind of see him on the fringe of the core heroes, whenevers he done as much as Blackrose or Balmung. Probably more than Blackrose.

And Kaoru, or Kaoru Ichinose, is the real life name of Endrance/Elk.

Re: Unsung heroes
Kaoru... Asaba
Her inconsequential duct crawling adventure with Yuki leaves more of an impression than half of the events in .hack. We didn't even know she had a (full) name until the card game and yet she will still always be remembered fondly, by me at least.

Re: Unsung heroes
Yeah, Kaoru isn't canon, as far as we know it's just something Wizards of the Coast came up with, like their flavor text and ideas about what the various armors are. I'm 99.9% sure it's just "Asaba -" in the Old Testament, but I'm in Germany again and don't have it with me... She's part of my ritual search whenever I get an infobook that covers her though, so I'm sure I would have noticed it. In my "any more Helba leads yet?" category, along with Keyaki and Ichiro Sato...
Oh that note, Ichiro Sato. He deserves a cheeseburger.

You deserved to be slapped. Are you serious? I don't care if he became nice at the end of G.U. Sato is in no way shape or form in the hero category.Kuukai wrote:Oh that note, Ichiro Sato. He deserves a cheeseburger.

Are we talking about different characters? He didn't appear at the end of G.U. The only other Sato I can think of is Nasubi irl, and I don't think he appeared either..._Tri-edge_ wrote:You deserved to be slapped. Are you serious? Re: Unsung heroes
I totally agree with the Sato. Gotta give Liminality people more love.
On that same trend, just think; if it weren't for the Liminality cast, Kite and friends would've failed to beat Morganna, among other consequences.
Even earlier than that, if it weren't for Mai, Tokuoka would've ended up in a coma.
