Just a little friendly advice. Just post in the introduce yourself here topic or random facts topic instead of making a new topic for every thought and question you have.

Re: japan
I take interest in it, but not to the point of obsession.
If I had to say so; Western/ Mid-Terran Occult sigils, rites, rituals and beliefs-particularly those that tie in with the commonly known Lovecraftian mythos-interest me far more than almost anything that was spawned out of the east.
Tc;dr- There's a reason why my current favourite anime is 'Kishin Houshou no Demonbane'

Re: japan
I love anime and all but honestly the one part of Japan I find interesting more then anything else is the mythology. (mind you I love all mythology in general but I do like Japans more then most.)

DMG? Psh, too common. I prefer things like the charmers (specifically Lyna, I LOVE her... but you all know that XD) and certain cards like Ruin queen of oblivion, warrior lady of the wastes, st. Joan, Freya spirit of victory, Northwelmco... like I said DMG is just to.... overdone.TheEnigma wrote:Haha Im guessing you go gaga for dark magician girl hentai then right?Ratsu wrote:You sir, are now my hero._Tri-edge_ wrote:Heeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnntaiiiiiiii. :3

Wow, that's a lot of hentai talk, but it seems to be all about series parodies. Anybody a fan of original work? Maybe even have favorite ero-mangakas?

Re: japan
Nope, not me...when it comes to original series and such, i never got any farther than Bible Black D: I actually am hardly interested in hentai doujins and such unless they're about a series i already know, or involving characters i'm familiar with (and would love to see in such "situations"). Shame on me D; lolErranty wrote:Wow, that's a lot of hentai talk, but it seems to be all about series parodies. Anybody a fan of original work? Maybe even have favorite ero-mangakas?
And i also agree with Ratsu that the Dark Magician Girl is quite overrated, and what we need is such a great hentai doujin involving all the "cards" mentioned in his post. And a couple more, if possible.
And well, to go back to the original question and not just turn the topic into such a hentai discussion/appreciation topic (though i wouldn't personally mind at all, of course. lol)...What i like most from Japan are their creations overall, all those related to anime, gaming and technology. I love anime and manga, and much more than i love western cartoons and comics. Japan pretty much created gaming, which is such a great part of my lifestyle now. And their technology discovers, advancements, and even public usage of them are beyond wonderful and impress me everyday. I also love their music, both what they compose for videogames and such, and a great part of J-Rock from Visual-Kei and Angura-Kei bands. And actually, i don't really like their culture, or mythology too much...:/ It sure is great and impressive and full of teachings, i admit that, but if they asked me if i like the Japanese culture as a whole and only had a Yes/No reply, i'd reply with a "No".
And according to my genealogical tree, my heritage, and all that which relates to it, i'm most likely about 0.0000% japanese! :D

By far.
He's the guy who created Tail Chaser, Ring X Mama and a bundle of other works-all insanely well done-including a very recent one about a detective working in the red-light district in Tokyo(?).

Re: japan
Well, I guess you're in luck then. There's enough ero of Bleach, Naruto, and anything that's gone state side to last you a lifetime. And I used to be into that same stuff, but then I started reading the Original works and noticing they had some decent storylines to them, so much so that the only reason they aren't really popular is BECAUSE they have erotic content. But then again, its that mild amount of "adult" that makes it more realistic and believable.
And I share mostly the same sentiment as you about Japanese culture, though I do enjoy their mythology. Maybe not as strongly as Norse mythology, but its still nice to imagine demons roaming the countryside getting cleaned up by warrior monks, or hearing the history of some legendary swordsmen.
That aside, I still don't like the culture, most of the people are too timid to do anything about people such as molesters and kidnappers when the act is being committed right in front of them. It's really pathetic to sit there watching a businessman rub a middle school girl's butt on her train ride to school and not help her.

Joji's pretty good, their art style isn't my cup-of-tea but the storylines make it interesting. For me I have to go with Yamatogawa and Kensoh Ogawa as my favorites. Yamatogawa's character designs are amazing, better than anything else I've seen even when it comes to non-ero.nobodyknows wrote:Joji Mananabe.Erranty wrote:Wow, that's a lot of hentai talk, but it seems to be all about series parodies. Re: japan
forget cards, we need to see doujin of the YGO characters. *shot*
Also, I'm an otaku. Self-proclaimed, of course, since I actually don't have that many favorite series from Japan. (Of course, that applies to everywhere else as well... I'm a little closed-minded when it comes to media. *sweatdrop*)
Fire Emblem, parts of the Tales series, Rune Factory, some Final Fantasy spinoffs, and of course dothack. In regards to anime and manga, not much of a selection here... there are a few I watched and no longer like (Code Geass and Shuffle come to mind), and I used to like Bleach before it started getting retarded in the Arrancar arc. Probably my current favorite (even though I haven't watched/read it in a while) is The Law of Ueki.
Also, I was bitten by a radioactive Touhou fan. *points at avatar and signature*
