PS3 or 360? :o
I've been wanting to buy one of these two for quite some time, but I don't really know which would be better for me. I know that a lot of people here think similar to me when it comes to games, so which do you guys think is better? '-'
And no, I don't have enough money to buy both and try them both as some people already told me =T

They're pretty much even, but the reasons that I chose a PS3 over a 360 is because the online play was free, and it had pretty awesome exclusives like God of War, Gran Turismo, and Little Big Planet. That's just my opinion. The 360 isn't a bad system itself, plus it's affordable, but I'd lean a little over to Sony.

Re: PS3 or 360? :o
You could answer the question yourself, asking yourself a few questions such like:
Would you rather play games like Metal Gear Solid 4 and God of War, or Halo and Gears of War?
Do you prefer awesome FPS games online while having to pay for it, or not-so-great shooters (just Call of Duty, really) but without paying any extra money to play them?
Really, both console systems are very great and very enjoyable, each of them have their own awesome exclusives worth each console, and most of the other great and enjoyable games are avaliable to both consoles, some with minor-to-none differences, others with quite noticeable ones but they're "exchangeable" (like, you might play a crappy Bayonetta on the PS3 that runs perfect on the 360....As well as a laggy Final Fantasy XIII on the 360 that looks WONDERFUL on the PS3). The main difference between each console is the online mode....360's *MIGHT* be more enjoyable, but the PS3's is free and you no longer have to worry about paying any extra for it, while it can be a problem in the 360 if you want to play online games for a long and inconsistent time (like some several plays per month).
I choose PS3 because i preferred to play the extra amount (more expensive than the 360) than having to worry about paying for the Online mode, and because i prefer the PS3 exclusives FAR MORE than the 360 ones. Despite some great games it has...nothing can replace Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War, or Tekken for me.
And knowing you, and the games you might prefer to play, i think a PS3 will be more fitting and enjoyable for you than a 360 >3>

I was kinda expecting one of your walls of text, TheSorrow xD
Yeah, I was leaning towards the ps3, but my brother wanted to know the differences first. And well, I don't know which games are exclusive to each console so... a list of good exclusives would be nice if it wouldn't be asking too much :3
Really, I suck at FPS games, and haters gonna hate I don't like GoW, it's just not my style.
Also, my connection sucks so I'm not really interested in online playing =T

From those games the only one I'd go for would be MGS4, but not that much lol (the first game was the best one for me u_u)TheSorrow wrote:You could answer the question yourself, asking yourself a few questions such like:

I don't care if you claim you don't have enough money, buy both. Sell your body if you have to, you're still (presumably) young enough for this... unless you're TOO young then there's a damper in that plan.
Alternatively just listen to what Sorrow said.

And was that a wall of text? I dunno, and sorry if i didn't ramble much more but a party was calling me. And sorry if i don't ramble too much in this one but i should be asleep several hours ago yet i'm not really tired, i already opened this, and i'll be too lazy to reply it tomorrow, plus i might force myself to not open dothackers until after Thursday or Friday due to exams and really focusing on studying for real...so...yeah 8D lolhidora wrote:I was kinda expecting one of your walls of text, TheSorrow xD

If you want a list of exclusives for both PS3 and 360, here's a nearly-complete (like 99%) list of them, so you can see, analyze and compare:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_vi ... eration%29
Both exclusives are pretty balanced in terms of genres and game series. For the 360 you can enjoy some great FPS such like Halo, Gears of War and Left 4 Dead, entertaining fast-paced games like N3, and even great RPGs such like Fable. And for the PS3, you have the marvelous creation known as Metal Gear Solid 4, the epicly awesome fast-paced game that is God of War 3 (even though you already said you don't like it, but meh, still including it >3>), very good FPS like Resistance, great shooting/adventure games such like Uncharted 1 and 2, the great RPG White Knight Chronicles that some people have dared to call the "new .Hack" or something, and great unique pieces like LittleBigPlanet and Heavy Rain.
Do you have dial-up or something around that "level"? If you don't, don't worry, you can actually play several games without much lag even at the speed of less than 1Mbps, which is the internet speed i have (though be expectful of sudden disconnections x-x) ...really sucks sometimes but it's VERY possible to play and in some games you won't even notice it. If you do have dial-up though...well, that could be a serious problem for online intentions XPAlso, my connection sucks so I'm not really interested in online playing =T
...I don't know!! 8DD Well, almost all the time i mostly hear you play SMT games, and even though there's NO game that nearly compares to them for any both consoles, i think you're bound to enjoy more games such like White Knight Chronicles, Disgaea and Valkyrie Profile far more than, let's say, Fable....I haven't heard of many RPGs on the 360 either, and you have a greater chance of playing some good ones on the PS3 rather than the 360.And those would be...? x3
And, though i might be wrong on this, most of the 360 exclusives are widely action/FPS games, while the PS3 exclusives have somewhat of a greater variation...and i just see you enjoying PS3 games such like MGS4 or WKC more than 360 exclusives such like Halo or Left 4 Dead >3>
It's a "tough" choice if you don't have preferrence for any consoles or any game series released in them so far, since regardless of your choice, you'll both play great and enjoyable games of different genres, as well as miss awesome exclusives of the other. If you don't have preferrence for any console and aren't really interested in any series in them, i'd still recommend you the PS3 more...both have great games you'll enjoy indeed, but i think the PS3 exclusives will be more attractive to you overall, considering that you aren't an all-action gamer who loves shooting others.

Great PS3 Exclusives:
Naruto Ultimate Ninja STORM 1 & 2. (Made by CC2, yay)
MGS4
Demon's Souls
Disgaea 3 & 4
God of War 3 (you may not like it, but its still good)
Infamous 1 & 2
Killzone 2 & 3 (personally, I'm not a fan.)
Katamari Forever (aww yeah)
White Knight Chronicles 1 & 2
Wipeout HD
Great 360 Exclusives:
Dead Rising 1 & 2
Fable 2 & 3
Gears of War 2 & 3
Halo 3, ODST, Wars, REACH. (Reach's level editor is glorious)
Left 4 Dead 1 & 2
Lost Odyssey
Too Human (only worth a rental really)
I probably missed a few, but that's the general list of goodies. Now, if we were also talking about PSMove or Kinect, I'd go with PSMove because I've actually done demos and the PSMove is TONS better at tracking, and doesn't require that you have 8 feet of space on either side of you.

So, you can enjoy some awesome Naruto battles with epic scenes and some great-paced QTE and all from a 360, as well as enjoy killing zombies and guys-crazier-than-zombies with each and every weapon you can think of while on the PS3.
The first parts are exclusives though, but meh, their seconds parts are ALOT better. And you should really consider playing them both regardless of the console you get (and even if you don't like Naruto or zombie-killing).

I'm gonna play "devil's advocate" here and say 360. While the PS3 may have better exclusives and free online and all, after the incident with the Yellow Light, I can no longer respect Sony.
But that's just my opinion and you're not entitled to follow it. XD

Re: PS3 or 360? :o
At this point the best way to make your decision is just to look at the exclusive titles to see which ones interest you more. There aren't a lot of general rules for deciding which console to get anymore since the majority of titles now are multiplatform. Usually, though, I tell people to go with the Playstation 3 if they tend to play more Japanese games than they do western games (and vice versa), and if multiplayer is a bigger focus for them then the XBOX still dominates that market. After that it really comes down to price and whether or not you want a Blu-ray player. I own both consoles, so I get the best of both worlds.
Re: PS3 or 360? :o
They both are pretty good.
I would go with the xbox360 just because Halo is really fun to play online in my opinion.
Not to mention it doesn't take out other great games.
You can still play Fina Fantasy 13, resident Evil 5, Mirror's Edge.
All great games in my opinion among many more.

Re: PS3 or 360? :o
It's already been stated previously, but both systems are pretty much equal overall, and it's usually the features and library of games that determine which is the better buy for the consumer. The PS3's features are basically free once you buy the system, including the Playstation Network, (with Playstation Plus being an optional choice, for an extra $50 of course, allowing you to have more priviledges than regular PSN members.) The gaming library is pretty neat as well, with hot exclusives like Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War III, and the upcoming, highly anticipated Gran Turismo 5. The Xbox 360 is cheaper, but you'll have to buy an Xbox Live Gold membership if you wish to play online games. It's worth it though, because Xbox Live does have a better online community than PSN. Since I do not own a 360, I'm not too fluent in it's gaming library, but it's most popular exclusive to my knowledge would be the Halo series, with Reach being the newest installment. Overall Hidora, you're choice depends upon what you like, what you dislike, and what you want to see or use in the future.

Re: PS3 or 360? :o
PS3. I've always been a Sony fan for consoles, so it's brand loyalty. Hooray for marketing. XD
Re: PS3 or 360? :o
The main reason I got a ps3 was because I have a large ps2 library and my ps2 broke about a year after the system's release. So I got the backwards compatible ps3 because it enabled me to continue playing so many games I already had. Well, that's the main reason anyway. I have little experience with the 360 and while I'd love to have one the ps3 was always higher on my want list than other consoles. I will say that all in all I have been somewhat disappointed with a few things over the years that sony has done. However, I'm always hearing about something on the 360 that sounds worse.
I'm sure that I am a little biased in favor of playstation but I do feel that it's a better console. Although, I would suggest researching game libraries and your own interests to find out which is right for you.

Re: PS3 or 360? :o
Oh, here's a good way to end it!
If you're the kind of person who throws your controller (out of anger, or any reason really) don't get a 360. The shoulder buttons (not the triggers) break even from an accidental 2 foot drop, like sliding off a desk.
Oh, and if I remember correctly, PS3 has a bigger HDD. If not, it still takes commercial HDDs so you can get a better one for cheap.
