Her first stop had to be the nearest inn/tavern, she ordered a pint of ale and got the basic layout of the town from the barkeep. Given the hour the leatherworker would likely be closed for the night so that would have to wait, with that errand impossible to complete for the time being she simply rented a room and stowed her belongings there so that she could eat, drink, and be merry with the men and not have to worry about keeping track of them. There didn't seem to be any open seats, so she pulled one up and sat down with a large group of men. The table went silent upon her arrival. "Oh, there's no need to be shy gents. I've heard it all before. Name's Skadi, I'm aiming to meet a wizard thatcher with my associate Lykala. Given the hour and the numerous ambushes we suffered during the day we felt it would be best to stop in here for a drink and head out after sun up."

"Look, honey-" Started one of the men. "It's Skadi, I'm not your wife. And I feel sorry for the woman who is." A couple of the other men laughed at the comment, which got him flustered. "Fine, Skah dee, this is a place for men, not little girls. Just go upstairs and go to bed, if you want I'll tell you a bedtime story." "As attractive as that is, I've got a more interesting idea. You and I arm wrestle, you win, I leave. I win, you pay for my drinks tonight. Unless, of course, you're afraid of a little girl." He slammed his elbow down on the table. "Fine." He snarled, he was not going to be made fun of by a woman, Skadi grinned. Much as he tried he couldn't move her arm an inch for the first minute and then Skadi slowly pushed his arm back and down. After making fun of him the other men had to see if he had just given up or not so they started lining up and gathering around.

There was a great uproar from the inn, which caused Lykala to immediately hurry over. Numerous men had gather around one table where, sure enough, Skadi was causing a stir. A well-built, tough man struggled to keep his arm straight under Skadi's powerful, iron grip. He grinned, sidled closer, and leant on the table. "How're you doing, Skadi? Enjoying yourself?" he asked, catching the eyes of more than a few patrons, "I'm beginning to get a worrying sense of deja vu, y'know," came the afterthought."

"Oh, hi Lykala." The distraction almost cost her a match. "Could you hold that thought a moment?" Her muscles tensed up for one big push and she slammed his hand into the table. "Alright, sorry boys. I think I need a break." She turned to Lykala, as most of the men moved off for the time being, a good number of them holding their mugs awkwardly with their left hands. "I'm doing quite well, thanks for asking. I just won free room for the night thanks to those gentleman over there." She motioned towards a group on the wall. "Would you like something to drink? They have a goblin punch here that's quite good, or if you'd like something alcoholic you can have some of my ale."

"I'll pass," Lykala said, shaking his head, "The only information I've been able to get is of a mage who lives fairly close to here. I might go and talk to them soon, if you want in."
He glanced nervously across the inn and felt a crushing sense of loneliness. Not once, even since reaching one of the most populated cities on the continent of Lucrellia, had he seen another Syrium. It was horribly strange and alienating. Lykala sighed and leant against the table, almost spilling someone's drink; he quickly stopped it falling. "On the other hand, you might want to stick around, if you've only just won the room and your armor is out of commission for the moment."

"Hey now, we elves have to stick together, right? No offense guys." The men at the table all just shrugged. "Your too uptight, y'know that? You were saying something about liking to live, yet I don't think I've seen you live at all yet. You have to enjoy the little things while you can. You never know when your life might suddenly end." She took a drought from her mug and put an arm around Lykala and pulled him close. "Come on, the wizard will be there in the morning, and I doubt he'd care too much for visitors at this late hour. And you've killed an orc or two and almost a dozen goblins today, so have a drink and relax, you've earned it."

Lykala was extremely hesitant, at first. There was too much on his mind to even contemplate relaxing, and without his daggers he could do very little else but think. Reluctantly, he wandered over to the bar and got a drink. Returning to Skadi and sitting opposite her, a petty thought struck him. "It's a female mage, by the way," he took a long, deep drink and sighed calmly. There were still eyes on his deathly grey skin, but he ignored them for the moment. He couldn't deal with snide discrimination right now, especially when he was inactive.
When the eyes didn't remove themselves, despite the amicable conversation buzzing in his ears, Lykala tried to distract himself, "D'you fancy telling me a little bit more about yourself, Skadi?" he asked, eyes clouded by his forced indifference.

((I'll try to be on more often for this RP, since it moves quite fast... Yes, quite fast indeed. =D))

Jason slowly entered the city of his dreams. It was much nicer than he dreamt it, but now Jason could not remember much of his dream. “Oh well...” He said to himself quietly. He had not eaten much eat since the beginning of his journey, though he had killed an orc and eaten it about two weeks ago. “Where’s the nearest…” The man brushed Jason of, but it did not faze him. “Excuse me ma’am! No, please don’t walk away…” After a few minutes of trying to get the attention of civilians, and a thought crossed his mind, “Maybe they don’t understand me?” He closed his eyes and sat down, thinking over his course of action. “Perhaps I should-” “Why are you sitting on the floor?” Jason looked up and saw a man of about fifty, or at least he appeared fifty. This man was like no other he had seen before, he had only heard of them before. This man was a Neocolom! He had snow-white hair and white fox ears in place of his human ears. This man may have had a tail, but it was not visible to Jason’s eyes. “I’m in a dire need of food, and no one in town will listen to me… Am I speaking a language that’s foreign to these people?” “Not at all, you must come from a small town… No I’m perfectly aware that you come from a small town, come with me I’ll take you get something to eat, and tell you a little something about Gridamas.”

((Hurray, Haseo you've joined us. Welcome to the dark side, have a cookie.))
"What was zat, Lickala? You fancy me? Hahaha! Alright then." Skadi stood, stumbling a bit, and grabbed Lykala. She started heading up to her room, attempting to drag him with her. The men nearest to them clapped and whistled. One man put a hand on Skadi's shoulder, pulling on her top, "Hey baby, I fancy you t-" Skadi spun around, grabbed his wrist, and spun his arm, throwing him to the ground and dislocating his shoulder. The room went dead silent and she slumped down into Lykala, disoriented. "Whoah." She pulled herself up to Lykala's ear and whispered, "Room, now."

Lykala stared at the man for a moment, dazed by how quickly the inebriated Skadi had taken him down. "Remind me to never, ever, get on your bad side," he whispered, slinging her arm over his shoulder and helping her stagger upstairs. The rest of the patrons returned to normality, though a few lingered by the floored man, helping him stand up. "What's all this about, then?" he asked, wondering if there was any method behind Skadi's drunken madness.

The man's usual tavern seemed a bit torn up, but the most noticeable sign of damage was broken chain hanging from the ceiling. “The chandelier fell down this morning, don’t worry about it.” Jason looked at where the chandelier had fallen and then back at the chain, “I bet there was a fight here this morning.” “Damn right! And don’t you be starting trouble round here!” The innkeeper said before seeing the man who had led Jason here. “Oh, you’re with Gael, I apologize. I assume you’re here to eat then?” Jason nodded, “I just need meat and potatoes, maybe beans?” He shrugged. The innkeeper nodded and left. “So you’re name is Gale?” “No, my name is Gael. Regardless, where do you come from?” “I come from some small village far, far away. Nobody knows of it and I’d like to keep it that way.” Gael nodded, “I can respect that.”

They chatted idly for a while until Jason’s food arrived at the table. “Thank you for the meal!” He bowed his head and began eating. “So, who destroyed this place?” Gael looked at Jason, and then leaned back in his chair, “I said don’t worry about it, it was some random person, I doubt they were from Gridamas at all.” Jason nodded and looked around; he noticed a table was missing. “Where’s the table that goes there?” He pointed to the spot where the table had been hours ago this morning. “Don’t worry about it…” Jason finished his meal and after saying his goodbyes to Gael went up to the innkeeper. “What happened here this morning?” “Bar brawl, some Syrium started a fight.” “Do you know where he went?” The innkeeper sighed, “I think he went north.” Jason nodded and headed out. “North eh? I haven’t had a good fight in a while…” He cracked his knuckles and looked up at the sky as a compass.

As she fell on the bed she mumbled something along the lines of, "Jess uh reazon." She lifted her head up out of the sheets, "That was just a reaction." She rolled herself over onto her back. "Touchy is bad." She crawled beneath the covers and gestured for him to sit next to her. She pulled her top off and hung it on the bedpost next to her head. "Drifighineanrous.," she took a deep breath and put her hands over her eyes. "Fighting drunks is dangerous." She rested her head on her hands.

"So, myself? Pop smiths, mum's carpenter." She shrugged, sat up in bed, and held her arms out for Lykala to see them. She runs her fingers over several deep scars. "Most of what you see on my arms is from the first bear I tried to kill. That ended my first adventure out of Elfville, after that I wore armor. Although, that didn't stop this one almost two story tall orc who gave me a nice wound right here." She leaned forward and ran her hand over a line running from the front of her right shoulder to the back of it. "Ever since my right arm hasn't been the same, so I learned to fight just as good with either or both arms." She lied flat on her front and felt around her back for a second. "That Cross I got from a crazy human. He said he was trying to save me from my inner demons. If you want I can take these wrappings off so that you can see them better." She tugged on the end of the long white strip of cloth she had wrapped tight around her chest.

Lykala panicked, and was quick to place his hand on the wrappings in order to stop her. "Whoa, there. Don't go undressing in front of me," he said, chuckling nervously. The ease with which she had thrown her top off had been bad enough. "I'll take your word for it, alright?"
He found a seat opposite the bed and settled on it, instead of sitting by her side - Skadi was well and truly drunk, so he preferred avoiding anything that may be misinterpreted when she inevitably sobered up.. It wasn't anything fancy; just a wooden chair with the bare minimum amount of cushioning. Still, it was better than walking or standing around all day - his feet ached something fierce. "You've had quite the eventful life, then," he summarised, nodding appreciatively.

Skadi shrugged, "Suit yourself." She stretched her arms and legs out, it was nice to just relax like this too. "It's not that eventful. I'm sure other people have had much more happen to them than I have. So, care to share anything about yourself? Like why you left your home, or why you seem so opposed to violence?"

Lykala paused for thought, reclining back in his seat with his interlaced hands as an impromptu pillow. Blue-grey strands spilled into his vision. "There's no big secret behind why I left. Dad was a mercenary, and I wanted to follow in his footsteps. Mom taught me how to fight, too, and my elder sister taught me magic. I guess I left for the fun of it. As for my opposition to violence, there isn't much there. I'd just prefer not to have too much blood on my hands - especially innocent blood," below them, he could here the mumble and bumble of tavern life. It was nice to be separated from it, especially considering his first experience of it in Gridamas; an event that seemed so far away, now.

"Innocent, kids are fun." Skadi sat up to face Lykala and pulled her feet up onto the bed to untie her boots. "Was? Is your father dead or retired?" She set her footwear on the floor beneath the bed, and began swinging her legs with her toes wiggling playfully.

"Hey! Don't go killing off my parents," Lykala was playfully indignant, "He settled down after meeting my mother. She was pregnant with me on their way back to Hovos, so they settled in Pyuto instead. My sister was only five when we settled there."
He watched Skadi curiously, then sighed. He moved to sit at the side of the bed. "How about you? Your parents still around?"

She laughed lightly at his indignation. "Of course they're fine, people have a tendency to not kill blacksmiths and carpenters. They find them useful you see, and on top of that, y'know that hammer I use? He could throw one with a head as big as anvil as easily as I throw mine, and twice as accurately." Skadi tugged on Lykala's ponytail. "Any reason for this beyond making you look like a dashing rogue? A very attractive thing if you're looking for women wanting to anger their parents."

Lykala pushed her hand away, grinning. "The dashing rogue suits me, thank you very much. As for you, are you hoping to scare and threaten every bloke in a five mile radius? You don't exactly give off an air of peacefulness, right?"
The sun began to slip beneath the frame of the window, casting long crimson beams of light shooting through small wisps of dust, that had been invisible up until now. Tiny little stars glittering and settling on the smallest currents of air in the room. The light, however, wasn't so kind on Lykala's skin. It dulled it, made the pale grey all the more noticeable.

"I am who I am. To display anything different would be a disservice to myself. Not that I'm against looking nice, but people tend to look down on a scarred woman in a dress. Makes it a bit unlikely to get invited to a party." She said dismayed.

Skadi tried to catch one of the little stars, she frowned when it lost it's luster in her grasp. She noticed Lykala's skin suffering the opposite effect of the dust and patted him on the shoulder. "Alright, it's been a long day. Let's go to bed. You want to get to Thatcher's early tomorrow, right?" She slipped under the covers and huddled her small frame against the wall, leaving over half the bed open for Lykala.
