Where were you?
Today is the 9th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It was on this very day, nine years ago, that changed the United States forever. As I recall that tragic day, I was merely a child. 8 years old in the 3rd grade. I was in the middle of school when it happened. As I saw it on T.V. a few hours later, I thought it was just a movie, but later realized that it wasn't. Now as I have grown, I feel proud to note that I am an American, especially on this day, and I now realize just how vivid the meaning of this day is. What about you? Where were you when it happened?
Re: Where were you?
Sitting in my living room trying to find something else of interest on TV. I am an American but honestly I could care less about 9/11. Things like this have happened to countries all over the world and they don't make a big deal like America did. (Mind you they did make SOME deal but America went nuts over it.)
Plus I am not totally convinced that it was an "attack" if you know what I mean.

Re: Where were you?
Well, I guess you and I are about the same age. I was 7 years old sitting in my grandparent's kitchen, watching it, not knowing what was going on. I thought it was a space shuttle taking off, actually, and when I asked my grandparents what was happening, they told me to be quiet. I didn't know what was going on until I got to school and heard my classmates talking about it.Integra wrote:Today is the 9th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Ah yes. September 11, 2001. A memorable day indeed. It was quite a sight seeing the planes crash into the Twin Towers, and watching the towers crumbling to the ground. It was pretty dramatic. I was at school when this happened as well. I believe I was 11, so, 6th grade.

I think I was at school. I was 9 at the time, I guess. I only remember that my teacher didn't appear at school for some days after 9/11 cuz her brother worked there at the towers =/
Not to sound disrespectful or anything like that, but really, I'm not from US, so I don't really care about it.

I remember that day. I was working my first job at Wendy's. It was pretty slow and I couldn't figure out why. Hardly anyone was coming in. Didn't know about it until I turned on the tv and showed a recording of the two airplanes crashing into the twin towers. My boss at the time joked he was too old to get drafted, but I might get in. Yea whatever.

I was watching T.V when I saw the whole thing on the new's, I immediately thought of what will happen to those people, it was the most cruel thing I've seen people do to other's, and because of that people now despise muslims just because fanatics did it in their name, I just hope people can forgive them for what they have done.

Re: Where were you?
I was about 8 in 2001, and was in Britain.
Put bluntly, while all the politicians were trying to make a big deal out of this event, most people over here didn't seem to care that much about it, because it didn't really affect them. I was one of those people, so all I did was casually not give a f*ck and carry on playing stick fighting with my friends.

I think I was in middle school.
yeah, 6th grade watching it the news about it on T.V.
I didn't see the big deal in it at all.
I just figured a plane crashed and people died and I was just like whatever until I heard more about how it happened and all these conspiracy theories.
That's more than you asked for. I just realized, lol. Oh well.

True that; now 9/11 makes even less sense to care about.Aru wrote:As I seen someone point out on YouTube:nobodyknows wrote:in Britain...most people over here didn't seem to care that much about it
