Futurama!
Anyone watching the new season on Comedy Central? It's pretty amazing and hasn't lost its witty charm when it went off the air years ago. I'm catching up on the last few weeks, but my favorite so far... the cat brain washing episode!

They have it back on? I never knew that >.< Although I haven't had any cable at all lately. I missed Futurama.

Re: Futurama!
I've seen every last episode of the old stuff, but I don't have cable now, so I haven't seen any of the new stuff.

Re: Futurama!
It's pretty much the best season ever. I think the episode with the time machine that only goes forwards is my favorite.
"So what was the meaning of life, anyway?"
"Probably just some hogwash about the human spirit."
"Eh. Sounds about right. Hand me a beer."

Overall I think it's as hit-or-miss as Futurama ever was. The Eden episode was horrible, and I don't know what's with the hey-look-at-us-hide-stuff-from-the-viewer gotcha endings for the first several episodes in a row, but I agree they've also done some of their best stuff. Part of it is that they've finally stopped getting caught up in their own mythology, so they're back to square one and are free to be truly creative. I think Bender perfectly articulated the new spirit of the show with "agggh, not this guy again." No more tired recycling of ideas...

Re: Futurama!
I enjoyed the episode where everyone's brains and bodies were permuted and the creator of the show presented a new mathematical theorem by making it the episode's resolution. Overall the new season was excellent unlike some other shows that made their comebacks in the past couple years.
Re: Futurama!
I saw the first two episodes and thought it was crap, should I start watching more?
"Sleep and fade away, inside these walls we wait, Wake up to the silence, after judgment day"
Re: Futurama!
Yeah, the first two aren't that good. What's weird is there's still one more episode after those two with OH NOES MISLEADING CAMERAWORK I MUST BE A NARRATIVE GENIUS. But everything after that is pretty good. At least watch some of the episodes we're actually talking about...Ratsu wrote:I saw the first two episodes and thought it was crap, should I start watching more?

The Comic-Con episode was hilarious.
Matt G:We are now going to show you a trailer for our new fox television show, Futurella, set in the year 4000.
Matt: *everybody pulls out cameras to record. Trailer starts, seven seconds in it says canceled.*
"Wow, Fox has really streamlined the process. Well, any questions."
Bender: When are you going to make another Simpsons movie?
Matt: *pulls out gun and shoots Bender.*
