Re: Space Squires: Escape from Osmia
"Steady, R-37, let's follow the lady." He motioned towards Lotis. "Strength in numbers, and right now, we need strength if we're going to make it up to the Leviathan. If that works for you, sir." The marine salutes Kurugi and takes off after Lotis at a jog. Continuing his conversation with Kurugi, "We were at the hangar when it happened. Four of them hit the hangar at once, this was just before Stone Protocol 5 got initiated. They blew up the ship Red squad was about to take up, I'm sorry. They were all caught in the blast. We barely managed to get you out of there. We knew we couldn't take on that many with our limited armament. Fortunately, only one followed us. The other three might still be waiting at the hangar."
Lotis and company run into many locked doors, eventually they make their way to the hallway connecting to the hangar. The area around the last corner is blackened and warped, as if by explosions and you see several bodies littering the area. As you glance around the corner, you see another power armor wearing rebel standing just outside the main entrance. In addition to the armaments in his suit he's holding a grenade launcher.
Mission Clock: 32 Minutes
It took longer than Lance could hold his breath for him to find another way in, and he had breathed in almost enough of the gases to kill him. Lance is going to spend about a minute coughing once he finally gets inside. He's pretty close to the hangar now, although he's actually gone around to the opposite side of it than when he started. At some point between when you exited the facility all of the lights went out and Osmia's sun has just set. You can see a short distance by the quickly fading sunlight. You hear the quiet patter of feet moving closer to you, from the direction you think is opposite the hangar.

Lotis stopped, raising her sniper rifle quickly. She knew where one rebel was, another would be waiting. It took only a minute to get the target. It was as good as a shot she'd get from their current position. Aiming her rifile, she made sure that she got the man's wrist so he would be unable to use the grenade launcher. "Now." She spoke without making a sound, telling everyone behind her to begin an assault before any other rebel got the grenade launcher.

Lance uses his elbow to cover his mouth and picks up his pace, feeling his wound open a little. 'I have to get inside...e-even if I die, I don't want to die out here...' He continues running, even ater hearing the footsteps, without looking back. 'It's useless to look back, whoever's there hasn't attacked me yet for some reason...'
After about a minute he makes it to the hanger and bursts through the door. He immediately hit the floor, his bandages soaked in blood, and coughing violently. 'I think I'm dying...' He coughed and aimed his pistol for the door, knowing his pursurer would most likely enter the door he just entered. 'But you'll die too!' he covers his mouth with the elbow trying to keep his pistol as steady as he could.
((I won't post as Lance for a while, until the mission clocks line up again.))

" Let's do this." Kurugi took out his throwing knives and as soon as he heard the shot, he threw out 2 of the knives hitting the rebels pants which disabled his movements. As he was stuck to the ground, he motioned Lotis to come over, "What do we do Lotis? Should we keep him alive or kill him?"

((Ok, it's been over a week since Jxcrust has been on, Jun is being given NPC status for the time being.))
The force of the shot wrenches the grenade launcher from the rebels hand, but he brings his other arm up to bear. Li and Spark slide across the floor to the other side of the hallway entrance, Gemini squad hugs the edge and bring their weapons to bear, Jun hangs back to cover the rear. The knives glance off the power armor's metallic plates as he begins firing the machine gun, cutting short Kurugi's comment. The marine throws himself on top of Kurugi, you feel the thumps as bullets pound into the marine's body. Bullets also tear through the edge of the hallway near the faces of Lotis and Gemini squad. The hailstorm of bullets forces the rebel to take cover around the corner, a second later the door at the end of the hall slides shut. Michael and Alex drag Kurugi and the now dead marine back out of the middle of the hallway. "Li, see to him." Li glanced down the hall, moved over to the marine as Michael moved him over. Li took a look at the man's dogtags and delivered last rights.

"What? Why the hell would he do that? Doesn't he care about his own life? I could have dodged that on my own, even if I did take some nicks. So Lotis, what should we do next then?"

Re: Space Squires: Escape from Osmia
Lotis looked at R-37 for a moment, using her sniper rifle to see if there was anything up ahead. "We'll have to move forward." She removed the Carbine, replacing the sniper rifle on her back. She ran forward, making sure that Li rushed the final rights. They couldn't afford to have an ambush from the hanger.

Re: Space Squires: Escape from Osmia
((Before y'all can really progress, I'm slightly confused, where are y'all headed exactly? The most straightforward way of getting up to the Leviathan would be taking a ship from the hangar.))
"Only the maker knows what will happen, or what could have happened, R-37." Said Li as he stood, he turned toward Kurugi. "The Stone Protocols. They were designed to protect the military's investment. All of the marines stationed here are to give their lives, if necessary, to protect even one prospective Knight. This man here and those marines in that room back there." He jabbed his finger in the direction they had come from. "They all gave their lives for us. So if you're going to say anything about this man's actions, then let it be of honor or gratitude, sir." He turned to Michael and Lotis in turn. "G-7, B-39, I'm done." "We'll discuss addressing a superior so disrespectfully when the mission is over, Li." Said Michael, reprimanding his squad member for speaking to Kurugi as he had.

Re: Space Squires: Escape from Osmia
((Ah, I see. I've been making a lot of errors, thank you everyone for putting up with them. Anyways, the rebel fell back into the hangar. He was guarding the entrance to the hangar and through the combined efforts of you removing his grenade launcher, which he had been using to great effect up until that point, and concentrated fire from Gemini squad he decided to fall back to a more advantageous location. He closed the main entrance, you can of course move forward, reopen the door, and enter the hangar. So you may continue now. Post on!
By the way, y'all are obviously near the end of this role play, so I'm curious. Who all would be interested if I ran a sequel? There will be less power armor wearing rebels and more regular rebels, making things like martial arts and knives much more viable options.))

Re: Space Squires: Escape from Osmia
Lotis noted to herself that the door was shut. Knowing an ambush may come from any place within the hangar was quite a risk. "The Leviathan is up ahead." She spoke softly, "Be prepared for anything." She then searched for the item that opened the door, a switch of some sort. Once she found it, she motioned for them to go to the side, just in case an attack came as soon a the metal of the door made a sound. She waited for everyone to take a spot before opening the door.

((Yeah, I'd be up for one))
"So it's like a safe-guard isn't it." Turning on the flashlight on his shotgun, Kurugi took point. "Li! Get the back for all we know they could surround us and kill us in a matter of seconds."

Re: Space Squires: Escape from Osmia
((Alright, I'll get to work on a story for part two.))
Li nodded, "Yes sir." He took position at the rear, Jun taking his place. The hangar is cluttered with various crates, several transport vessels are docked, a few transports holed by explosions, and dozens of bodies, almost all are marines or dock workers along with the rest of red squad and Virgo squad. You note the partially exploded body of one rebel, near what looks like the remains of a drop pod. There is a coinciding hole in the ceiling, it looks like somebody landed a transport in it to slow the loss of breathable air.
As the door slides open a heavy machine gun opens fire, strafing the hallway, and an explosion goes off right in front of y'all a second later. Through the smoke bullets continue to fly, peppering up and down the center of the hallway. ((Good call on standing to the side.)) Kurugi takes a bullet to the leg, shattering it, your reinforced skeleton will allow you to continue moving albeit slower and with intense pain. Michael grabs hold of you and keeps you from falling to the floor. During the brief moment before the explosion's smoke obscures your vision you see a power suited rebel, missing his right arm and having a shattered face guard, letting you see his face. He is sitting in the back of a transport, manning a large caliber machine gun.
The following only Kurugi notices, due to being in front. Off to the right, another power armor wearing rebel is standing next to a sealed side door, behind a small stack of crates, holding a remote detonator. When the explosion goes off you see him drop the remote and level his left arm in the direction of your entrance, ready to fire the instant you come into view.

Re: Space Squires: Escape from Osmia
Lotis raises her sniper rifle, looking for an exposed area. The smoke clearing up slowly to help her get a somewhat dependable shot. A shattered face guard seemed good, but she needed to get his head. Raising it up to the highest point of her head, she shot three times at once, aiming for three parts of his head.

Re: Space Squires: Escape from Osmia
The first shot wrenched his head to the side, and the machine gun fire with it, the second dented the side of his helmet, and the third goes through his eye as he starts turning the machine gun back to bear. As the body slumps backward the machine gun fire stops.

Re: Space Squires: Escape from Osmia
"Be careful." She spoke into her piece softly. She knew that they may have an ambush waiting for them in the hangar, but knew it was the only way to get out. Otherwise they would be destroyed along with the base. She walked slowly, motioning for everyone behind her to follow her. She took a moment to check if there are any people in the distance that she could pick off before they started firing towards them. The injuries would have to wait.

Re: Space Squires: Escape from Osmia
"Crap, I should have seen that coming. Argh!" The pain was near unbearable and if it weren't for a few painkillers and bandages he had on him, he would have passed out. "My visor says that I can only move at 50% speed. Li move up to the front. I'm expendable since I'm already damaged. I'll watch the back."

Re: Space Squires: Escape from Osmia
((Frankly speaking, the only gear y'all have are guns and the clothes on your backs, given that y'all never made a stop to get anything, Jun, Lotis, and Michael all have ear pieces as well. But it is reasonable that your bodies have been given painkiller enhancements and/or y'all are capable of withstanding intense levels of pain given the nature of your training.))
Li nodded in response. He moved slowly up the hallway, and peaked around the corner, the machine gun fire from the surviving rebel caused him to jerk backwards quickly. He looked down at his carbine then to Kurugi's shotgun and shook his head. He searched the immediate area for the grenade launcher the rebel had dropped and spotted it a short ways in the hangar, there was little cover between here and there save for a lone box. "Spark, grenade, check those bodies back there." He whispered, she hurried over to the other end of the hallway and searched, but no luck. "Want me to sprint it, Squire?" He turned to Lotis, his muscles were tensing as he gauged the distance. He could probably do it, so long as the rebel was out of rockets, and not left handed.
Lotis, as you are about to pass the threshold into the hangar, you pick up the transmissions from another group. You think it's White squad. From the sound of the chatter they're at an armory, and relatively nearby given the range of your headset. Michael raises his eyebrows and puts a staying hand on Li's arm, awaiting your decision.

Re: Space Squires: Escape from Osmia
White squad was not a weak. Still, a transmission from them meant that something was happening within the armory. As much as Li going towards the grenade launcher made sense, White squad could need help. The question was if they could spare the time. Though, it would be advantageous to get a few more weapons and some good armor. "Armory, not enough cover." Lotis spoke, turning to look towards the two pages. "Li, make sure Kururugi is under your watch at all times."
