the TESTER season 2
Hey everyone. Sony is holding a casting call for season 2 of their show the TESTER. for those that don't know it's basically a reality show and the prize for winning is a job as a game tester for sony.
Anyways, since I'm participating in their casting call I was wondering if anyone else is too.

Reality show = alliances. I didn't watch any of the first season. I know its for entertainment purposes, but how many people actually watch this?

lol that's me. nothing to do. the show definitely wasn't all that great last season but i'm a lot more interested in the job than watching the show or being on it.

I've never even heard of it, but then again. I have been cable less for like 6 months. Can't say I miss it all that much either.

I did.zerokoolpsx wrote:I know its for entertainment purposes, but how many people actually watch this?
Out of massive boredom and some curiosity, but I did. Didn't get past episode 3 because it was a reality show first and foremost, and a cheap one at that. There was barely anything to it beyond people do a task and **** about it before being judged by a few goons who don't matter anymore than the ****. I can get that pretty much anywhere at anytime from anyone.
I'd still audition for this if I could, though, since this job would call for me to be the biggest criticizing asshole I can be. Alas, TC did not give a link (that I can see... then again, you can't see links on this forum just by way of them being links anymore), and I am too lazy to search for a webpage on the matter, so I don't even know if I can or not.
Just like a CC2 tester.
*sigh*
Re: the TESTER season 2
actually it wasn't on cable. (at least not that i know of) it was released every week on the playstation store. also I don't think you can register as a contestant anymore but you can still register as a fan. If you do here's the link:shugo_lover wrote:I've never even heard of it, but then again. I have been cable less for like 6 months. Can't say I miss it all that much either.

I'm actually a little bit surprised I seem to be the only contestant on these forums.
p.s.
I'd appreciate votes very much. If you like you can vote for me at:

lol if i forget it would be due to the nerves of the situation (i imagine that's what happened then too) anyways i forgot to mention you can vote daily so whoever you're voting for (hopefully me) vote every day please!
btw sorry if this topic seems to have gone the way of advertisement. (i know that's against the rules) but yeah i'm still interested if anyone else is a contestant and i'd enjoy talking about the show as well.
one more thing, i already posted this in the official thread on these forums but my psn id is Einzeln. add me if you want (just write something so i know you're not just some random person)

Re: the TESTER season 2
Ugh, i have to sign-up for voting x-x Oh well, whatever i can do to help a fellow Playstation Hardcore gamer. I'd also like to see on my own just how "hardcore" you really are. Hopefully as hardcore or more as a certain someone who has finished over 200 games since the PS1, most of them in the most difficult settings :P lol
As of the show and being myself a contestant...nothnx XP Sure, being a beta tester is definetly one of the most ideal/perfect jobs i could get...but i HATE reality shows, and me being part of them just for being a tester is like enduring a torture and lots of public humilliation for a prize that's not really worth it x_X Not to mention...the distance. Unless they paid me all the trip from Mexico to whatever place they'd do the show, i don't think it would be any meaningful to be a contestant XD
And i'm not sure if they do keep allowing contestants or not...when you sign up it asks you if you want to sign up for voting or participating, and i didn't even bother changing from voter. Still, good luck if you sign up now for it, with all the votes everyone else has at the moment D8

Re: the TESTER season 2
yeah man, I've never had much money so I haven't had a lot of opportunities to own games but i've still probably completed at least 200. (i was 5 when i got a ps1 and had a sega genesis before that) I know plenty of my completed games have been from situations where i go to a friend or relatives house and sit down and beat one of their games in a night.
I feel ya on the show thing. I've never been fond of drawing attention to myself on a national scale. (at random times in public is fun but w'e) But assuming I make the show I'd feel it was worth it. I just hope that it truly is a "reality" show so i don't have to act some dopey part for them. I'm sure it is but you can never be sure unless you're there.
Appreciate the votes, I'll have to keep uploading more vids to my profile as the rounds progress so I'll do what I can to entertain.

Re: the TESTER season 2
Yeah, that sounds alot like me as well XD All games i played before PS2 (PS1, SNES, NES and even Atari, though i was like 2 years old then) were all games i owned, as they were ALOT cheaper back then (lol $20 and that was already expensive-ish ._.) and the economy of my family was more good than bad...after that, it's been mostly rent, and i only buy them if they were that great for me to keep, or if they're part of a series i just HAVE to own. I have like 30 PS2 games and 5 PS3 games, while i seriously still have over 100 PS1 games XD And right now on the PS3, if i were like those people who seem to CRAP OUT games and have played like 30 (and usually have 2 Platinums and 5 Golds at most), i'd easily be at least at lv15 (though i'm almost lv11, a little below you...not bad either way, i'd say XD). But, i've played only a few, although almost all of them have been finished at 100% or 80% at least, and it doesn't take me more than a few days to do so...the 5 days of renting, actually, though for some i have to rent twice and just for 2 more days of finishing the last few challenges for Platinum ~3~ And i hope i can increase a few more levels during this month...I still have lots of games i'd want to play XDN3IWVC wrote:yeah man, I've never had much money so I haven't had a lot of opportunities to own games but i've still probably completed at least 200. Anyways, good luck on making it to the show!!! :D I'll keep voting for as long as i can. And well, you've seen the last season, right? Then maybe you have probably seen already if it was truly a "reality show" or there was stuff that was obviously forced acting just for attempted lulz. And overall you should kinda know what to expect, in the case you do get chosen >3>

Re: the TESTER season 2
Yeah i've seen the first season. It didn't seem like there was much if anything that was really scripted. But yeah man I know plenty of my friends are higher level than me but either have like 60 games and no platinums or they have like 15 platinums but if you look the majority of them are from games like Hannah Montana. literally it's ridiculous. I almost feel pity for people that buy games just for an easy 100% on it. I don't mean to knock certain games without trying them. But on my limited budget there's plenty of games i can't afford that i am sure i would enjoy more than hannah montana. I'll try that game maybe if I go to a friends house and they have like NOTHING else that seems more interesting. but even in that situation i wouldn't be putting my account on their ps3 just so i can rack up some trophies for it while i tried it out.
anyways, most of this is getting a bit off topic so maybe we could message eachother about whatever isn't related to the topic from now on.

Yep...When you try to vote it'll lead you to the sign-up thing. Though it's very short and quick, just a few things you need to fill up (name, username, password, e-mail, age....and that's it really). Remember to sign up as a voter (unless you do want to be a contestant XD)shugo_lover wrote:Do you have to make an acount or something to vote?
I'm 20 too and i've been that age for just a few months D; Well, even another reason why i can't be a contestant >3> lolAera wrote:You have to be 21 by time of application process voting.. and I'd still be 20.. Bah...

Okay basic breakdown of the rounds of the contest.
Round 1:
Top 475 vote recipients and 25 sony picked wild cards move on to round 2
Round 2:
Every remaining contestant must upload 1 new vid and an essay. top 85 vote recipients and 15 sony picked wildcards move on to round 3
Round 3:
Every remaining contestant must upload 1 new vid Top 10 vote recipients move on to the final round
Final Round:
Contestants are scored on two criteria. 1 sony judges rank their choices from 1 to 10 with number 1 receiving 50 points 2 : 45, 3 : 40, and so on to 10 : 0. 2 highest voted contestant receives 50 points 2nd : 45, 3rd : 40 and so on to the lowest vote recipient. The contestant with the most combined points will win the position on the show.
so as you can see your vote always makes a difference.

But so, after all this contest, there will be only ONE winner for the position in the show? And how/where are they going to get the rest of the people who will also be part of the reality show? o-o

I would have made an awesome addition to the Tester Team. Although I feel like I would have competed better in season 1, since Uncharted 2 was my thang. Beat it in two days playing non stop..
