If you do have a clear file, you'll be presented with a choice of starting from the very beginning, complete with character creation, or continuing from the end of the first game. If you choose to start from the beginning, you'll get to keep your items and such, but you'll start back at level 1. This unfortunately also means that your character will be level 1 even when playing the online "live" mode. If you choose to start from the sequel's starting point, your character will reset to below level 35.
So two games on one disc. Too bad you don't have a choice like with ME2. I'll just wait for WK2 now.
Am I misunderstanding? I read the article. But from that is it the same as buying the original disk. That is aside from gameplay? For anyone who wanted to know there's an offer for the orginal story with the second game.
I'm kinda pissed that there wasn't any reason to buy the first game, but otherwise I think it's cool. All I can say is that we'd better be able to take our stuff with us, or there will be hell to pay. In fact, if you can't I'm not going to buy any more installments of this until the last game. I mean, what's the point? The last one would be the only one that matters, the others would be like dumb betas leading up to that. In that sense this is even weirder than .hack...

Yep. There are no details about items carrying over. I'm assuming it should. If Level 5 is doing this, I'll just wait for the last installment of the game too.
Speaking of White Knight, can anyone help me learn how to talk about it in English? Is an Incorruptus an Ark? How is the ancient country that made the Knights spelled? I can use this information to make the wiki usable, I planned to do this when the English version came out but forgot about it...
