A lot of shows haven't been lasting long. Some show about a roller coaster quiz game got canceled. A kid showing Americas funniest home videos like clips got canceled. I think they was showing some street basket ball thing for like a month or two.

Brainrush is a rip off of a few other shows. Isn't Slamball from another channel?

Er, probably the second thing....

Crap, I missed DBKai's premier 8(;;;; FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU-

Did anyone actually watch it? I heard that the dub was gonna be promising on its DVD/Blueray/whatever release, but then when I found out it was gonna be on Nick, my hopes were shattered. Someone tell me how badly was it edited for network television..? Was it just like the "good old days?"

I wouldn't touch Kai with a 10' pole. As far as I'm concerned, DB went continuously downhill after the Frieza saga..

But... Norio Wakamoto... And Buu!! He's a giant blob of bubblegum with a cape and boxing gloves! It just doesn't get more epic than that...

Personally I think all of the best character designs in history end in "with boxing gloves." Like Togemon, or that kangaroo from Tekken...

Image

Only a truly remarkable person could look a cactus and see something that needs boxing gloves...

He didn't have boxing gloves, dough-head. His hands were in the shape of gloves :3

I just really hate how powerful he was at the end, Kid Buu was a **** of a fight.

Until, evil gunman had to go and shoot Buu's dog which made him **** out and cause his evil version to come out. Evil side absorb the now Good side and turned into Super Buu...which had pants but no shirt. Guess he doesn't like full clothing.

Dragonball is epic. One of the best anime before Cartoon Network starting screwing up. How could you not like Goku's adventures as a kid, alien killing, deadly androids, a pink blob with a few forms, getting turned back to a kid again, becoming adult temporarily with a tail, and dragon slaying. Epicness.

....Do you even know what DBKai is? :I

Well, I'mma tell you anyway.

Basically it's a digitally remastered version of DBZ (so yes, it'll even have stuff before the Freeza saga) but not only that; but y'know how DBZ was notorious for their ridiculously long fights that would span for so many episodes that we were just like "Soooo you two gonna fight yet?" while watching? Well, basically, all that's been cut out. In fact, all of the filler's been cut out, so yes, it actually stays true to the original Manga. It's also been redubbed (Even the Japanese voice actors came back to their roles; accept for Tienshinhan, who's irl Japanese voice actor died) so the acting in both Languages have improved. The BGM is also different, so FUNi doesn't have to change a thing with their crummy theme music because the music in Japanese is already better than what it was originally.

Also, because Funimation actually knows what they're doing this time around, and they don't have anyone telling them "make this awesome for 7 year olds okay?" they don't have to dumb things down, not to mention they're more familiar with anime/Japanese culture as a whole, so they'll be able to stay as close to the original as they possibly can.

TL; DR, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8Ux5cs2G1g

I have to agree with the "only up to the Freiza saga" rule. But that still sounds nice. I just hope they don't change the music from Goku finally going Super Saiyan.

Actually, I don't want them to change that scene at all, PERIOD! It STILL sends shivers down my spine from just how amazing it is.

But...the Japanese score is completely different now XD and since that music was in the old English version...well...

But I'm sure that scene won't be cut short; and although I haven't watched that scene yet myself, I have full confidence in Kai that the shivers will be there :D

EDIT: If anyone wants my opinion, I looooved the Cell Saga XD Gohan was actually useful and interesting, even if he did kinda steal the spotlight, that li'l b@stard xD The beginning of Buu was kinda neat too...what with the Kai's, and Bobbity planning something all magical and shizz; it was different!....But then Buu showed up D:

I just found it amazing that an 11 year old was able to something that none of the other Sayians could. But he was a half/human/half sayian and they are said to be even stronger.

I still hold my opinions true, just like a stubborn mule. Freiza saga was - and always will - be the best that there can be. 'Correcting' it when it doesn't really need 'correction' is a massive fail IMHO. The only reason people think it needs correction is because the other sagas effectively copied it's base plot progression, modified it with a 'grain of salt' each, and then expected to get away with it. The Freiza saga didn't have these 'grains of salt', so people thought it needed re-doing. ergo, series went downhill after Freiza saga.
___________________________________________

On all the other DB Sagas; Buu saga would have been cool if they'd left it at blobby cake-making Buu. But NOOOO. It was effectively a repeat of the Freiza saga with a differently designed character, and a slightly differet way in which the 'Boss' 'POWUHS UP'. Why I hate the Cell saga? See above.

To root my detest even further, most of these sagas lacked real plot devices, and were usually just 'KILL DA BAD GUIZE' repeated all over again. While it worked for the Freiza saga, repeating the SAME THING MORE THAN TWICE OVER won't make it any better. Granted that Trunks and his backstory made the Cell saga slightly more watchable, but still; The pointless tournament that lasted for 1/2 OF THE ENTIRE CELL SAGA.

On the OTHER saga; there's a reason why I didn't say it's real name.

EDIT: I've just realized I haven't mentioned at all why I'm so against Kai. Allow me to elaborate;

I don't care if it's digitally remastered and spiced up with 'new-type' animation, or even if the time-wasting was cut out of the series. All of the experiences I've had were with the original Freiza saga, done in it's original style. It's also the general reason why I prefer Silver version over SoulSilver version.
