Need to upgrade my PS3 hard drive

Post by Azure Knight »

Ok, so here's the deal. I'm planning to upgrade my crappy 40 GB hard drive in my PS3 to another one with more memory, since FF13 decided to go and be too big for my current hard drive. Thing is, I'm not too tech-savvy, so I want to make sure that I'm getting the right stuff before I go and blow up my PS3 or something. So, is the hard drive I included in the link going to work for it? Also, does anyone have any other suggestions for a better hard drive than that one? Thanks very much.

That hard drive is fine. You might have force it to 1.5 mbps transfer with a jumper since that is what the transfer rate of the PS3 is at. You might need to backup your PS3 hard drive too, but it doesn't do ps1/ps2 game saves, so those must be saved on flash or external hard drive. Synch all your trophies before upgrading. Also make sure you're using a Phillips #1, or else you might strip those screws when your loosening them. Everything you need to know about PS3 HDD upgrades. I have a 60GB HD, haven't needed to upgrade yet, I'm also managing my space. Delete demos, and game data utility I'm not using. Also I thought FF13 didn't require an install like GoW3?

Thanks. And yeah, it doesn't require for you to install it... something I learned AFTER I made this topic.
