If it's not technically anime, then oh well. Something labeled "anime" doesn't make it the epitome of television anyway. I call Boondocks and everything else American-made animated. I think by now we've hit the mark on what category to put this show under.

Yeah, the opening was all about how the show isn't anime because it's true. The first verse refrain simply says "this is true," while the second is "this is reality." Awesome song. Not quite the same if you remix in a different robo voice... I recently obtained the SRT Vocal Collection 2 and that throws the whole thing off...

Well I think people have started to change the meaning of anime in their own minds. For example one may think that an anime is simply an animated cartoon that doesn't contain characters that can be drawn by a first grader in under 12 seconds. For the most part, Boondocks fits that description. Even if that definition is wrong. ;p

Just because a small group of people don't know what anime is doesn't mean Boondocks is even conceivably anime. There is no great debate over this and what is understood as anime is not ambiguous enough to let The Boondocks fall under any part of the category.

So the answer is simple: The Boondocks is in no way an anime.
