I find it strange that a man can marry a video game, yet gays can't get married. The world is so fair, ain't it?

Well, the bible never said anything about not being able to marry a technological device for entertainment, right? XD

This is just the beginning though. Wait until they start producing human-sized robots with female looks (which i think they're being made already, just not all publicly-avaliable yet), and then it'll be so "fun" to see the whole marriage deal with them. And yes, Japan will be the first, since that's the only country in the world who would think of creating a freaking Chobit just for the purpose of marrying it, even if all that Chobit does is to repeat phrases from Lucky Star and constantly try to kill itself against walls.

The worst part is that people cite this as evidence of the Slippery Slope. "If you let gays get married, you gotta let people marry kids, animals, objects, and imaginary characters. SEE?"

I think dating sim games are bad for the human's mental(Sometimes even physical) health. I feel bad for the people who play these things they usually get so addicted and never bother to find a real girlfriend then again I wouldn't want a guy who has played those things I find it somewhat pathetic.

I assume these games are not even realistic and go straight into bad things atleast the games should be a little realistic and be used as a guide for a guy to understand girls more and then be able to ask one out, date and then marry.

I recommend you read this. It effectively disproves your theory OUTRIGHT.

Perhaps what nk is trying to say is that dating sims, while being perverse and disgusting; may help some men find a gf at some point. Even if it's thru a gross game like a dating sim. :vom:

I think he actually meant that you should read the manga series he linked you to, not just the little summary in the page, and after you're done reading it, you would understand why it disproves your theory and maybe find some good points in those dating sim games.

And if we're talking about the whole "It might help someone eventually find a real girlfriend", then well, there are MANY things that could help you find a girlfriend...articles, magazines, books, maybe "helping groups", those dating websites, the internet in general, so many things that, directly or indirectly, could help anyone find a partner, even though it can seem like something "pointless" or "stupid" for others. But of course, just because a book helped you find a girlfriend, it doesn't mean you'll go and marry the author, or worse, a CHARACTER in the book. It might not really THAT bad if you something considered as "perverse" for others helps you find a partner and grant happiness to you both, completely leaving such perversing thingy afterwards....but when you MARRY that perverse thing, there's seriously nothing good you can say about it, except maybe that the guy is doing it seriously wrong. And this can apply to many other things and many "similar" circumstances, but right now, we're talking about a dating sims game....and a guy who married a character from that game, a character that has as much intelligence and reasoning as this snake thingy i did on C++ :/
