Re: Monster hunter tri
You re-made the topic so the original didn't have to get necro'd. Kudos to you! Also, it's coming out in America in 2010.

Re: Monster hunter tri
And I for one wont be buying it since they plan to port MH Frontier to the 360 and PS3. Which is about 10 times better than Tri because they still have all the weapons, and it has separate a low fee to keep a server running, and will be constantly updated with new things including monsters, weapons, and armor that aren't on any other versions of MH.
EDIT: Also, Wii sucks.

Re: Monster hunter tri
I'm still getting Tri. After all, there are Leviathans and sea monsters in it which are effectively non-existant in Frontier. Plus, I like the idea of the Slash Axe which was included in MH Tri.Erranty wrote:And I for one wont be buying it since they plan to port MH Frontier to the 360 and PS3. Re: Monster hunter tri
I know that part, that's why I like MH. But you cant swim with a 15lbs sword, you couldn't even swing it underwater with any speed, AND you wouldn't be able to have enough force to cut anything with it either.

Re: Monster hunter tri
Yes, but MH isn't one of those games that likes to defy those laws of physics (except for the whole fall 100 feet and not die thing). I mean sure, the hammers are blatant physics breaking, and then there's Plesioth's hip check, but aside from those 3 things the rest of the game follows physics pretty well.nobodyknows wrote:but video games can defy those laws of physics :0... plus, the GS moves just as slowly overground >.<'...Erranty wrote:I know that part, that's why I like MH. Re: Monster hunter tri
Actually, you'll find that a large amount of things are different about the MH universe than the normal world. For example, the fact that most of your weapons literally double in size when you take them off your back, or that you can actually hold your GS in your hand - while standing still - for as long as you want, without the need to put it down and rest, even though you look like you're having immense trouble just keeping the dang thing from falling to the ground. I could go on..Erranty wrote:Yes, but MH isn't one of those games that likes to defy those laws of physics (except for the whole fall 100 feet and not die thing). Re: Monster hunter tri
No, I don't think you understand that many of the weapons are spring loaded. I mean, you'd have to unsheath a lance to walk through a doorway if it wasn't.
And Holding a greatsword with 2 hands that long wouldn't be hard with that stance. I have a Daikatana, which is basically the same size for me and the Eager Cleaver is on the male hunter (I'm 6', its 5'5'') and I have no trouble holding it one handed in the same position as the greatsword.

Re: Monster hunter tri
I understand the second point, but I don't think it explains how when you pick a GS of your back (not a lance) the entire weapon - including the handle - magically grows to sizes unknown. Look at the Nargacuga GS for example. It looks tiny on your back, but take it off, and it almost becomes bigger than you =_='...Erranty wrote:No, I don't think you understand that many of the weapons are spring loaded. Re: Monster hunter tri
The handle recesses into a spot inside the sword. You can see this clearly with the Tigrex Slasher (dummy in Unite)

Re: Monster hunter tri
I was referring to the actual blade itself. After looking at the Fatalis GS, it became pretty obvious that the handle could receed and extend, but what got me is the fact that the actual blade size just magically doubles....

Re: Monster hunter tri
Well the Ravager Blade is a perfect example for the blades on some swords recessing into them as well.
