.hack//Azure Knight (Fanfic Not RP)

Ok. After re-playing all of the original .hack Games, re-reading AI Buster, watching SIGN, re-reading Another Birth, and a little Zero... I'm finally gonna write this.

It's come to my attention that up until Outbreak, we've only seen Balmung through either Lios, or some of the investigated areas. So this is a fanfic that I've sorta come up with that explains the period between the end of AI Buster through Outbreak.

((Note: In no way this is canon with .hack. Please do not use this as a source for info. This is a fan-made story.))

Log 01

The Wings Of A Fallen Angel

Down it fell. I dealt the final blow to The One Sin. Then... it came.

An angelic feather, falling from the heavens. It touched my forehead, then, wings sprouted on my back. The wings of a fallen angel.

"Hmph. Wings? That's a weird prize for beating a seemingly impossibly hard monster."

I could tell that Orca was jealous. I looked over at him and smirked. As a prize for him, he had gotten money, a weapon called "End Of The Earth" and a bunch of powerful armor. For me, I got the wings and a sword which was weirdly named "Heavenly Sword".

" I think that's enough trouble for one day. I'll email you later Orca." Saying my goodbye, I left just as the field reverting from an Arctic Wasteland to a beautiful grassland. The arctic angel of death was no more.

After logging out of The World, I quickly washed up and went to bed.

Tomorrow was an important History benchmark and I could not afford a failure.

You see, I'm currently in my 3rd and final year of High School. As the school year is nearing its end, my grades are moderate. I do not intend to attend a university or college. Which is why I'd rather have the best grades possible to find a decent job.

1 Day Later

Coming home on my motorcycle, I parked it in the garage, did my routine chores and took a shower.

Checking my e-mail, it seems that I got an email from Orca.

I always wanted some more info on Balmung and Orca, fanfic or cannon, doesn't mater to me, I look forward to seeing what you do with this. The only advice I could give you is just keep giving us more with the details and imagery the more chapters you get into the story, but since this only the first chapter, I understand that your just making the setup and what not. Good luck with your writing and I will keep reading for sure.

Speech Of The Ungrateful

Walking the town of Dun Loireag, I was instantly recognized by many players. I could hear some of the players saying something like, " It's him!" " Balmung of The Azure Sky!" " He killed the One Sin!"

It was a feat maybe. But I couldn't have done it alone. I knew this wouldn't affect my friendship with Aura. Even if he was the only friend on my friends list, Orca was better than that.

After browsing the various shops, I got tired of all the gawking and I decided to head back to my inbox to find a mysterious email awaiting.

"Hmm? What is this?"

So you must be Balmung. The talk of the forums. Do you really think you're a hero? I'm sick of all the cheat players. I've uncovered something worth while. It'll cost you though. If you really think you can save The World with all its weight on your shoulders, come to Λ Broken Someone's Captive.

I've been contacted by a user named Tento, and he wants me to go Λ Broken Someone's Captive. He wants me to come alone though. But I don't care. Just come with me. I have a bad feeling about this.

The thought lingered in my head for a good amount of time. I deleted the email. If I was the so-called hero, then I would bear its heavy weight on my shoulders. I will not leave The World to corruption.
