If I'm not mistaken, the manga has a lot of jokes (can't really say, I've only read the first few chapters), so if this new version is following the manga I guess it was bound to happen.
So, I have a question, since I haven't read that much of the manga, is the anime still following it?

So lets see, they're up to chapter 33 in 15 episodes... not bad. And they're following it so closely that most of the scenes match! But I have to say, this is definitely not the old series, and I kinda like the old one better, it seemed more serious.

The last series they let he plot thicken up a lot more and let you know the characters better.

Sig by me.
Re: full metal alchemist: brotherhood
Well, the manga came after the series, so they're expecting people to already know a lot about the characters. But lately I'm not liking this version. The whole involvement of another county is unnecessary to the plot. And the way Roy killed Lust just by burning her repeatedly was just a load of crap.LegendaryDarkKnight wrote:The last series they let he plot thicken up a lot more and let you know the characters better.
And from the sound's of things they've already nixed 2 characters from ever existing, messed up one of the homunculus' titles, and do I even need to mention how messed up it is that Al can now transmute w/o circles like Ed!
Essentially, they've taken too many liberties, and should've just left FMA alone.

Actually, it's VERY IMPORTANT to the plot. Like, a cornerstone. But lately I'm not liking this version. The whole involvement of another county is unnecessary to the plot.
Are you kidding? That scene made me cream my pants. Besides, What he basically did was make her burn out her Philosopher's Stone. It's not much different from one of the kills Ed did in the first anime continuity. Burning Lust is also highly, highly symbolic if you know Dante's Inferno.Roy killed Lust just by burning her repeatedly was just a load of crap.
Quit being butthurt. Everything you just described was in the manga, which came before the first anime. Technically, the first anime too liberties by changing and adding characters and cutting out entire portions of the plot so they could have their own villain. And from the sound's of things they've already nixed 2 characters from ever existing, messed up one of the homunculus' titles, and do I even need to mention how messed up it is that

And yet you seem to have missed the point of me comparing this series to the old one. Honestly, which one do you like more?

And yet you seem to be missing MY point that your series comparisons are f*cking unfounded and dumb. "Baww baww this new version sucks because it's different from the first version."

Well said AT! I hate it when people compare stuff like this and complain. To be truthfull I like the new series better than the old one.

Re: full metal alchemist: brotherhood
Believe or not I've never even watched FMA until this new season. Since I've never seen the beggining I think I'll go back and watch the whole series.
