FML, I need to vent.
FML stands for F-ck My Life, btw.
Anyway, ahead lies drama. I just need to share, maybe get your thoughts. Shitty day.

So a teacher posted an assignment today. Gotta watch a movie and write an essay on it. Movie's in the campus library, so I need my mom to take me, informing her it's due on the 15th. She **** and moans about how she's busy and all this schedule **** and blah blah bleeding vagina stuff. We finally f-cking go, and all the copies are checked out.
My return to the car had her prompting, "Where were you you took f-cking half an hour baw baw I missed the first football game of the season"
To which I responded, "I had an attack in the library. I got caught up for twenty minutes explaining that I didn't need an ambulance."
I then write a letter to my teacher informing him that I'll try and acquire it through another source (internet), but since I'm like handicapped and ****, I won't get another chance to actually go to the campus before the due date, so be prepared to miss my contributions in the drop box.
My mom reads it, and flips the **** out with the following: "OH MAH GAWD HOW CAN YOU TELL HIM YOU HAVE THIS SORT OF **** YOU KNOW HOW THAT MAKES ME LOOK? I READ THIS YOU KNOW IM GOING TO HAVE TO CORRECT HIM AND SETTLE THE MATTER BLAH BLAH BLAH REPUTATION."
Basically, she wants me to reap the benefits of disability, but not explain to a teacher that I had a f-cking anemic attack related to a crippling birth disorder, while in the library which she left me unattended in to go find parking.
Anyway, as I told her, "Would you have liked me to pick a different 'lie?' Or should I have told my Professor, 'Oh, sorry, can't go get my homework materials, Mom's too busy settin' up for a FOOSBALL PARTY EEEYAH!"
But of course, the teacher will believe her words over mine, and I'll look like a liar trying to excuse myself out of a paper. Thankfully I downloaded a torrent of the film I needed, but I'm still probably going to have this on my record or something.

Was the movie even worth all the trouble? (also, I'm beginning to think everyone on this board has some sort of medical condition)

Re: FML, I need to vent.
Don't take this the wrong way but I'm going to start off with a rather offensive remark that I mean no harm from.
"Your mother is a ****."
Now, that being said:
So, simple enough assignment, I've had to do such things before. No real problem there, depending on the movie it could be hard or easy to obtain which could explain why the library had no copies, or it could be that every student the teacher has got the same assignment and nobody posed the question "If the library has X copies, and you have Y students, with Y > X... how do you solve the equation?" BUT! That's not where the story goes down the path of bad parenting... I can sympathize with not wanting to take you to the library, its a pain in the ass to take anyone anywhere... good enough. She took you anyway, parenting points gained.
Now, those very same points were lost immediately... What kind of self-respecting parent holds Football over Education?! I myself was not a stellar student, despite being of sound mental faculties, I am a lazy and utterly unmotivated asshole. But, there is one thing I've always stood for, and its been that Education is on the highest levels of importance. Now, that should have ended the stupidity when you explained you had an attack, news to me, I had no idea you were stricken with such an ailment. Sympathies, etc... Or not... Some dislike that.
Now, explaining to your teacher that you found an alternate source but would be prevented from physical appearance was responsible and quite rational... Strange that anyone would think to not do such a thing. And that would be bad enough... Now comes the part that makes me say your mother is a ****... What kind of person with any kind of self-respect or intellect would possibly take personally a disorder as being a negative reflection upon them self?! Why does it at all matter to them?! They don't have the damned thing and they don't need to hide or explain it as they see fit!! An example of the worst parenting I've ever heard!!
Unfortunately, you're right... your teacher will believe what ever kind of half-assed lie she makes up. And it will reflect you negatively... That is of course until karma solves the issue. I personally would love to see how your mother would react if you had an attack in class and the ambulance explained to the teacher what happened. Immediately discrediting her and at the same time stopping any future lies. Though... that would be bad in its own way... I wouldn't wish anything of the sort to happen. Lest there be complications...
... Not a word I just typed actually served to make anyone feel better or provide any kind of solution or proper input. Go figure...
In any case! All I can advise to do is keep a line with your teacher open. Try to explain best you can without actually 'affecting' your mother. That, and try not to let it get to you deep down~ Sounds like the... less than ideal... life situation. So, feel free to kick me in the ass if you want a festive jig to distract... I'm not particularly useful, but hell.

Well just give it to your teacher next time you see him. I'm pretty sure the school should be away of your health conditions a little. Then do what all college kids do, smoke pot.

Re: FML, I need to vent.
Well AT I know that you don't generally like me at all, but in a way I know how you feel. I am from a back ally school in Louisiana, and the whole reason they took me in is because I am special ed. Mind you I am a very high functioning autistic person, I am still special ed. They basically used me to get "special ed funding" and what did they do with it? They bought a whole bunch of new stuff for the football, and basketball teams. Almost makes you wonder if school is even worth it honestly. At least things are better at collage where the special ed things will get you money rather then have some worthless school where you don't learn anything take it.
@Erranty: Your right, we do all have some kind of medical, or mental condition. Maybe its because .hack deals with things like that and it sorta, draws us all togeather.

It's quite sad that this is the same woman who had brought you into this cold, victrical world. Do you even like exsisting in general?

I do. It's the most difficult videogame i've ever played, with the most advanced enemy AI, too many events and quests and constantly updated, and for over 19 years so far, i haven't found any save point D:

I thought you we're talking about a real game there. Don't forget maintaining social links, the moral system alignment, and there are no save points. I have yet to beat this game.TheSorrow wrote:I do. Re: FML, I need to vent.
Dangit. Well, at least i'll try to finish it through legit means...i've looked up for some cheat codes, but most of them involve finding some kind of herbal items, and none of them really maxes out stats or gives invincibility. Who knows how long it'll take though, i've heard of people who have played it for over 90 years and they have barely gotten to the final area. Then again, i've heard some people have finished the game in under 20 years, or even 15, but they're either speedrun fanatics or used cheat codes. And sadly enough, they all refuse to say anything after they finished the game...heck, no one has revealed the ending so far.

I ended up putting all my points to Intelligence, Strength, and Endurance. But Charisma has somehow gotten into the negatives.
