Whats your favorite gaming moments?

Post by zaseo »

What your favorite gaming moments so far in your life?
In 4th grade on my bday I got my first ps2 with some games, and out of the games I got Digimon World 3, and KH were so fun. I enjoy those two games so much that day.
In KH, and KH2 I love when I beat Sephiroth for the first time.
In SSBB it was my friends bday so I own everyone because I have experience over almost everyone else. That day I spike the hell out my friends. and won like 70% of all the matches I play in.
In Dot Hack Quarantine my favorite moments was when I was fighting Corbenik. First I die because I didn't dodge the triple earthquake attack. On my second try I got to the second part of the fight, and it was nearly hopeless for me to survive because I was likely under lvl ,and it took a little time for the part when the shield breaks to come. I was thinking damn it something does not happen soon my party is done for. When it finally happens I was thinking the way Kite yell "Damn you" was so epic. Later in the battle I said to myself after all of that I will strike the final blow to Corbenik before running out of mp, and item stock.
In FF Tactics I have nostalgia of playing at my friends house. One of the battle themes was so epic, and I like how challenging it was. I got my ass kick in FFT that day, but it was one of the gaming moments you can't forget.

I actually got a triple kill in Halo 3 with one shot from the sniper rifle. Three guys immediately moved into my line of firing and "BOOM! HEADSHOTS!"

That, or the time when I won my last race I needed to complete for 100% completion in Gran Turismo 2.
Margin of victory: 0.002 of a second.

Getting Pokemon Yellow and a GBC for my eleventh birthday. 'Twas what started it all, really.

The other moment I can remember is when I stayed up late (like until 4 am or something, which was real late for me at the time) just to beat Redemption.

Heh, too many to count.

For me I'd say it was reaching the end of the original version of Persona 3 staying up quite late to finish the last few months. Sure it's just reaching the end of a game, but when it's one you're really into it feels great.

Another moment in SMT, Nocturne beating  Lucifer on hard mode while totally unprepared making the battle a two hour struggle.

First learning Megaman 9 would be coming out.

Playing through the Mother series in general.

Many more but I'll stop there.

I have to say that there are a lot of moments like that, but the special ones are:
-When I defeated Terra, the secret boss of KH2+
-When I defeated Sephiroth, also a secret boss of KH2
-The final battle between Snake and Ocelot
-Okami's great ending

lol. Gaming has been a part of my life since i was like 6 years old, and since the very first game i've had so many favorite moments and experiences that i remember so much and think about constantly when i'm bored. In fact, i have at least one memory in each game i've ever played...like doing something crazy, passing some challenge while it was pretty much impossible, some funny or random thing...and i've played way too many games in my whole life, not very recently because of money and the fact games are more expensive everytime and more consoles are needed, but i still have a collection of over 250 PSX games, all original (each one wasn't more than $20), all finished at 100% or close to that, and all with my own story to talk about.

Though to not ramble too much about the whole story of my gaming knight, i'll just describe my "title"....The Legendary and Mythical Fallen Angel Dark Paladin Knight, a title i gave to myself once i started to refer myself as a gaming knight and not just one more videogames fanatic. It started with "The Gaming Knight", after finishing God of War 2 in...Titan difficult or whatever it was. Then my title kept growing as i completed the following challenges:
-Devil May Cry 2 in Dante Must Die (also attempted DMC1 but Nelo Angelo 3 always went invincible and i could never beat him)
-God of War 2 in Titan difficult or whatever it was AND finishing some 90000+ floors challenge or whatever that was, can't remember clearly, but wasn't hard.
-Resident Evil 4 Professional in under 3 hours AND Handgun-only challenge (Normal on that one)
-Metal Gear Solid 2 in Extreme Mode.
-Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix in Critical Mode at 100%, and Lv1 Critical Mode (not 100%...i failed to beat Terra and most Org. XIII data. I think i managed to beat Terra later with a CHEAP strategy, but can't remember and i didn't consider that as "victory" if i did it)
-And finishing I Wanna Be The Guy...the hardest, insanest, and most unfair game i've ever seen. Not even Mario "sadomasochist" hacks are that insane...i once played one and it wasn't too hard to finish.

But my favorite gaming moments aren't just all about challenges, since as i said, i have my funny, interesting, random, and nostalgic moments. Among them are playing Crash Bandicoot and Gex 1, as they were my very first PSX games ever, Chip & Dale 1 for NES which was my very first game i ever finished, Digimon World 1 as i played that game together with my bro and share lots of experiences and cool moments (plus it's a GREAT game, very difficult too), Final Fantasy 7 for being the very first game to make me cry and look at games as whole stories rather than just distractions to pass the time and not care about anything but play and finish, Gran Turismo 2 for many reasons including finishing it at 98% (maximum percentage allowed, sadly), and many others...i could go on forever with this list. And also, the challenges above aren't the only challenges i've made either; there's also the GU games challenges, some i made in games like Crash Bandicoot or Spyro, and most recent ones in RE5 and MGS4, but i haven't given myself a new title for them...none of them were worthy challenges enough for me to "upgrade" my title XD If i ever finish MGS4 in Big Boss rank, however, i could consider adding a new word to type...

I remember when I was just a little kid, and wanted a PS1. I love playing my very first game Crash Bandicoot 2. Now I'm playing the last PS1 game I got which is Digimon World 3. Its sucks that I never got to finish it because my memory cards got mess up so a friend gave me his ps1 memory card a few days ago. I might just get Final Fantasy Tactics from them to. I have many games all together on ps1, ps2, gamecube, and wii and my psp. Another favorite is when I got Tekken 3. That gave is a classic fighting game. I can come up with a few hundred gaming moments like beating FF12 for the first time, getting Tekken Lord with my favorite character Jin, playing SSB with my cousins despite getting on by them, owning them when I got much better in SSBM, completing The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, preforming my first fatalites in Mortal Kombat, fighting Cubia with Kite, Blackrose, and Mistal, and so on. Its .hack games where I get my nickname, as my friends sometimes call me Zaseo, or Shouxiao.

The first time I ever beat Yiazmat and Omega MK.XII. 500,000,000 HP is no joke. If it were any normal FF game and you had to fight something like that, you'd know instantly that you were screwed. It took me 7 hours of almost non-stop gaming to even try and get it below 1/2 it's max HP, and I spent even more time just trying to get my characters the right weaponry. Farming Yagyu Darkblades was so hard and unfair it wasn't even funny Dx... and I don't even want to THINK about farming something like Tournesol or Masamune D:. As for Omega MK.XII.. it only had 1mil in HP... but it took forever just to get it below 800,000. Quickenings were almost ineffective on it, summon did little to nothing, and it was capable of spamming you with 6000+ damage, regardless of what armor you had, or even how much protection you had against magic.. and you couldn't freely leave the fight if you wanted to D:'. But I managed to beat both of them, and after accomplishing that, I even secured the Wyrmhero blade.

Another great moment I had was when I finally found all of the stray beads on Okami. Unlimited Ink and Unlimited Health without the need for cheats was definitely fun.. but it got kind of boring after the third playthrough.. so I decided to start over from scratch. It was still heckloads of fun anyway xD

The final battle of Kingdom Hearts 2 when you have to hammer on the x and triangle buttons to deflect the lasers. epic as hell, and when i finally got 120% completion rating in spyro the dragon. Also was when i beat Lavos in chrono trigger with just chrono and marle in the beginning.

The entire playthrough of the Golden Sun series. The final battle and ending of the second game The lost age.
Defeating Lavos with only Crono and marle. Mostly crono since marle got downed pretty quick.
beating Lord of the rings the two towers on the gba. The last fight in that game as gandalf is insane but awesome at the same time. Thunderstrike all the way baby!!!
Pokemon red when I finally caught that pikachu in the viridian forest. I named him Norris after you can all guess who. :)

There are so many more....Way to many to list here.

Actually, 3 of my favorite moments are all from Grandia 2.

The part where Mareg Dies is probably one of my most favorite, just because of how emotional it is. Literally, I still nearly cry every-time I see it.

The next part is after you face your brother Melfice. The part where Roan takes the crown and gives that big speech to his people. Not really so much tear jerking, but kinda gives you a view of Roan's character in a whole new light.

And the final part is where Elena is singing atop the altar of the Birthplace of the Gods. And then Ryuudo come's back with the Granasaber and gives that big speech and the big bad demon dude  Zera is like: WTF!! NO way!! How can you still be alive? Blah blah blah. ANd Ryuudo goes into this whole schpeel. Really get's you pumped up for the upcoming dungeon and boss fight.

Grandia 2 is probably my fav RPG of all time.
