In related news, NHK is now airing a week-long block of Universal Century-related programming on BS2, culminating in a final day dedicated to U.C. 0093 and onwards that includes a 20 minute program called "Gundam UC as told by Harutoshi Fukui" (the author). This might be just a book-reading, since there are a lot of video essays and the like interspersed in the block to turn a Gundam marathon into more of a cultural experience worthy of public television, but there could also be some animation/info about the show thrown in there so I kinda wanna see it...
Also, I kinda like the sound of that, "cultural experience." I remember one time when I was in Japan a cable channel that was sort of their TMC was airing Stardust Memory. Good stuff.

Re: Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn
Oooh, so they finally announced that it will be an anime series as opposed to the rumours of it being an OVA or movie? Awesome, can't wait, along with that 00 movie next year.
Btw, can someone enlighten me as to what "green-lit for this winter" means? As in are they going to start production of it this winter or will it air this winter?
Oh and about Gundam being a cultural thing for Japan. Gundam Sousei is awesome in terms of showing how the franchise came to be (overexaggerated of course).

I think all we know is it's animated, not the format. I assume it'll be whatever they deem sufficient to cover the whole thing.Kouen wrote:Oooh, so they finally announced that it will be an anime series as opposed to the rumours of it being an OVA or movie? It'll be out this winter, and that means out everywhere. That's right, they're not going to let Gundam's 30th slip by, for anyone.Kouen wrote:Btw, can someone enlighten me as to what "green-lit for this winter" means? Re: Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn
It's the ver. Ka Shinanju, and you can get it online at most retailers that sell gundam models.
Re: Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn
They were having a like 60%-off fire sale on those during new year's. I actually wasn't as interested in it as the Ver. Ka Unicorn, though, and I only had so much luggage room.
I'd have bought it if it was just this, but...

PSYCHOFRAME KIDOU!!

I also picked up an F-71, and like a billion 1/144 ones including Guan Yu Gundam which I intend to custom paint into a Bruce Campbell reference... (Guan Di is his name!)
I know, I suck at being a Char fanboy...

Re: Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn
I picked up the Ver. Ka at a con a while back. Had to have the Sinanju, always been a sucker for the red mobile suit. Twilight Keeper there picked up the Ver.Ka Unicorn, and he'll tell you its a **** to build. Too bad he didn't wait, he could have gotten the Titanium Finish version.

Re: Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn
Woa, there's a Titanium Finish version?! *Googles* Wow, it's so shiny!! They're sooo good at reusing molds...
I've been working my way through the zakos before I build it, but I can only imagine. It should probably be bigger... I really like its limiter form, though, it's kinda... heavy metal-esque... Plus they say it's what's on the inside that matters, and that's totally red. But the first form is just awesome... Eyes? It barely has eye. It looks like it was built to tear the arms off of other Gundams...

We all know the only model-kit anyone wants is a Perfect Grade RB-79 Ball Char Type Custom.

Re: Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn
For some reason I keep laughing at the word Unicorn. I can't take it seriously. I guess that means I laugh at the school girl gundam from G-Gundam too.
