Phantom ~Requiem For the Phantom~

Post by Kouen »

AnimeNewsNetwork wrote:A spate of mafia assasinations occurs in America, the work of the mysterious organization named Inferno. "Phantom" is their most strongest and capable assassin, however a lone tourist witnesses Phantom's latest act of murder. He unwittingly exposes the top assassin's true identity, a young girl named Ein. Witnesses are usually killed, but the man is captured and taken to be brainwashed into "Zwei", Inferno's newest assassin, with no memory of who he is. From this point on, Zwei is drawn into a world of conspiracy, deceit and violence.
Just when you thought that being an assassin was super cool, this brings down the harsh reality on that curiosity.

Aside from all the obvious blatant use of any random cool sounding English word (although Ein and Zwei aren't even English words). This series is actually a pretty interesting take from your regular "protagonist is an assassin" plot. *Cough* Darker Than Black *Cough*

Discuss.

I still haven't watched Requiem for the Phantom; altough I did watch the ovas Phantom-The Animation long time ago. It's definitely on my list, I just need to give myself some time.

So, I've been wondering, from what I know the ovas was just a part of the story, which are based on a visual novel game; so does the series is going to tell the complete story?

I kind of went off the assassin genre of animes after watching the 'kite' series of films ._.'... however, this one looks less.. err... overdramatised than the kite duality (soon to be trilogy >.>')... so I might give it a shot :U

My biggest issue is how does one pronounce the title of this series? Actually calling it "Phantom Requiem for the Phantom" sounds kind of redundant. What does everyone else like to call it?

For short I call it Phantom, but if I want to type it in full I just type Requiem for the Phantom.
