Weirdest Way You Discovered an Anime
What's the strangest way that you've ever discovered an anime?
For Example:
FMA: I watched it because I thought that Ed looked like Link from LoZ in the commercials
Karin (AKA Chibi Vampire): While Youtube surfing, I saw an AMV of Karin and I thought I'd check it out.
Haruhi: Jumped on the bandwagon after hearing about it here.
Lucky Star: The youtube account that I watched Haruhi on also had the full series of this, so I watched it.
Rurouni Kenshin: I'm currently doing a paper on samurai, and my History teacher told me about this and said I should use it as an example. I actually have a Comiket referance in the thesis...

Re: Weirdest Way You Discovered an Anime
Let me see if I can get this right.
For Shattered Angels, I was randomly browsing Wikipedia and started reading about a series called "Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora," and it sounded pretty cool, but I closed the window accidentally and couldn't remember the name of the anime. The next site I visited was FUNimation, which happened to have an advertisement for Shattered Angels, which looked like yuri, so I clicked on it, only to discover it to be the localized version of the series I had read about only moments before. Concluding that this must be the work of Odin telling me to watch this series, I went ahead and pre-ordered it.

Uhh. I know there's something weirder but...
.hack//SIGN :: It was airing on Toonami and I didn't understand what was going on (started at around episode 4 and missed a whole bunch of episodes in between) but the fact that Mimiru and Subaru ran around in bras amused me so I kept watching. (I didn't know it took place in a game back then. D;) Well, that's not the only reason but... that's the most random reason as to why I started watching it. XD

Re: Weirdest Way You Discovered an Anime
Out of the two or three times I ever went into a Hot Topic, one time I bought an overpriced pin that had Jiyu (in full-on Jubei mode) from J2 on it. I thought it looked super cool, so I looked into the anime. Found out it was a sequel and so proceeded to buy the first series, Jubei-chan: The Ninja Girl. Later on I finally got J2.
But yeah, weirdest way I've ever discovered an anime, seriously.

I started watching Naruto because I thought it was about a kid who would turn into a demon and kill people.(I was only 9 so it was more like yay blood!!)
I also use to think that Naruto was about food because I had no idea what it was.

Well.. it's embarassing to admit but... I got into Clannad because my friend showed me an H-rated Doujin, and I liked the character design, so I started watching it >.>'...

To be honest, the first EVER anime that I discovered was Angel Blade, and I discovered it on my brother's cell phone. For those who don't know what it is, let's just say they've taken superhero vixens to a whole new medium.

I saw an AMV about a baby with a gun and thought it was cool. I didn't even know what the show was really about until I looked it up. That's how I started watching Reborn.

Zero no Tsukaima: Through a Youtube video, making fun of the supposed S&M scene. It was Taniguchi walking in on the two of them.

Re: Weirdest Way You Discovered an Anime
I have a history teacher, and he was interested in norse gods and mythology at the time. The whole class humored him, because well, we where doing something about the french, and nobody likes them. Anyway, one day in class he said "what the ****" really loud. And he had a copy of volume one of the Ragnarok series. Obviously he had thought it was a book about norse myth, rather then a story based in a mishmash of norse mythology. He said pretty much whoever wanted it could have it. A small bidding war insued, and I bought it for $3.50. That was the first manga (Not comic/ American Graphic Novel) I had ever read. Now I have the series up to volume 10.
And that is my weordest story. (Although I don't know if manga counts)
