Ovan, Aura, and other mysterious characters discussion(spoil

Hey, so I didn't see any threads for this, but I still wonder about some things (just beat vol 3 again) about some of the mysterious characters.

I know Ovan comes back in a special OVA, but is that Canon? Do we know? And if it is, does that mean he could return to the real world or he just existed in The World then, kind of like Harald did for awhile.

And what about Aura? Why did she disappear in the first place, and where did she go? And where is she now, after she appeared to Haseo at the end of the game?

And how does Gabi know Ovan?!

Oh, and can they still use their Epitaphs now? I mean, they defeated Cubia, so that probably meant they defeated their epitaphs too, right? But then, that would mean Haseo couldn't be in Xth form anymore either. I guess this kind of depends on teh canonicity of Returner too.

What does everyone think? And what do people know that I don't?

As for Aura, she was asleep for most of her dissapearence, then after she met Haseo, went back to sleep again.

Gabi knows Ovan for any other reason. They DO play a MMO. They could have met way before G.U. ever began, just like how Yata knew Ovan.

As for Epitaph users, for the time being, they are extinct in R:X. The new version. In R:2, even after Cubia was defeated, Haseo still had his Xth form, so that's an indication that they could still use their epitaphs, but there would be no reason too.

Okay, so, according to that topic, it hasn't been confirmed either way, but it PROBABLY is, right?

But why was and is she asleep?! Why did she just go to sleep alluva sudden? I mean, she's a program (however advanced) so she shouldn't really need sleep, but even so, how stinking long does she need to sleep?! Man, my parents think I sleep long!

I think she might be in the Sea of Data somewhere too, since she was supposedly confirmed to have left the World (R:1). Right? Whatever the heck the Sea of Data really is. But why?! Why would she abandon the World?! I never saw her as irresponsible, but she seemed like she'd do everything she could to take care of the World. There must be something deeper there, maybe some weird cause she was put to sleep, right?

lol, and about Gabi, I know, I was just kidding really. Although, it DID almost seem like there should be more significance there, but I guess not. Maybe a sub-plot-line they did away with.

I see. But, isn't Haseo supposed to be in there, at some point at least? And, Kite has his bracelet, so wouldn't Haseo have his Epitaph (meaning all the Epitaphs probably)?

To answer your question....Aura got tired of humanity looking up to her as a goddess and thought it was best for everyone if she went away. Of course, CC Corp didn't like this..and thus, the RA Plan and Amagi's insanity followed soon afterwards...she still supports "The World" as an operating system mind you, albeit in a much more non-interfering way than Morganna. She does NOT support the Internet...but that's up to speculation, but the whole point of Aura going away was humanity to develop on their own and not rely upon a goddess for their wishes...

I see...that makes sense I guess. That's really weird though as writing goes. They wrote out one of the most important characters basically, lol. But it kind of works I guess.

I didn't know that Gabi's PC is hacked...does your friend have any info on that? I mean, it doesn't look hacked (just edited more than most players of the World care to). Does anyone else have any info on that?

So, I was thinking this thread could stay around hopefully, as more issues arise with mysterious characters. Questions, comments, whatever.

I doubt Gabi's PC is hacked, and i don't see why it would be hacked either...he has no reason to and probably not the enough knowledge for it either :/ Probably his PC has some features that no other players can get, maybe as a gift of being the guildmaster of the biggest guild, but that's just it. Zelkova's character, though, IS hacked, and he did so on his own...even though maybe it's just the horns :P

And so...mysterious PCs? Nuada :P

Haseo's already been revealed in .hack//Link. Unfortunately, he does not have his epitaph. As for all of the epitaphs being in there at all? We've only seen two of them in their original phase form,(Skeith, Macha). It sucks, but it looks like Epitaph Avatars won't be coming back.

That's...really weird...I mean, the Phases were a central part of the story! What are they gonna do without em?!

I think he just meant that the "Avatars" aren't coming back, but the phases are. Besides, it's the Schicksal organization that's the problem in the new .hack//

Ah, I see. Yeah, I've heard about the Schicksal, though I don't know a whole lot about the story. I just know it has something to do with Chrono cores and time travel, I guess.

Well, the posting thing while they're only AIs can also apply to the Azure Knights (when sending them greeting cards), maybe Zelkova if some rumors are true, and, of course, Aura. What i think is, since all that still happens in a virtual enviroment, and still somewhat connected to The World, they can somehow display screens and "log in" to the forums they have access to, and post there. And i'd go into saying that they can also type the messages with "virtual keyboards", but considering the glitchyness in the messages from Aura and the Azures, which shouldn't exactly happen if they just typed it, they post the messages using that "voice-to-text" thing that The World already has...simply speaking and letting the program translate it into words and post it, and with Aura's "segmented" voice and Azure's distorted one, the messages don't come out too clearly and throws garbage stuff around.

Also, about Nuada...he did seem a bit intriguing at first, because of how much he researched about The World's secrets and could mention some that are actually true, just not exactly in the way they interpreted them (i can recall mentions of AIDA, Aina and the A in C note), but he wasn't THAT suspicious until the last post, so there's a chance that one AI got into his account only to post that message. However, i'd prefer to think otherwise and that Nuada is and has always been an AI xD

Ai? What are you guys talking about? I mean, obviously, in reality (the real real reality, where I am) everyone except for Haseo is an AI in the games. But, in the game, he's a regular player...right? Am I missing something?

They're theorizing that some of the "normal players" you see running around town, like Nuada, are actually Vagrant AI's like Mia or Zefie.

Uh, no o-O Zefie must be somewhere around in the sea of data, Mia is pretty much within Tempting Rose, and some others like Lycoris were actually deleted, but if we learned about something in Netslum, is that vagrant AIs still exist and just like they've existed in R:1, though with different looks. And Nuada's last post hints alot of stuff to Haseo, stuff he was NO WAY to know unless he was an AI who kept contact with him...seriously, that "string" comment really throws off, it's almost as if someone posted something like "Oh hey Haseo! Good job beating Cubia! Wow, i didn't know you could be so skilled with Xth Form Skeith, and it was your first battle using it, but congratulations!" XP

Well, I know there are still Vagrant AIs, but he's been around in plain sight for a long time. You would expect the others that hang out in Netslum or roam around in the Sea of Data to be hidden well enough to survive, but he walks around towns and everything.

BTW, could just quote his last posts that make you suscpicous? I don't remember them...

Rumor was around since the beginning of Fragment, but no one ever figured out he was an AI and it seems he's still around in R:2. CC Corp only catches the AI's that are really obvious about it, like Lycoris or Rin.

I see. That seems very unrealistic but...then again, there are hackers all over the place in some of the games I play online. Maybe it's not so unrealistic.
