First, news. This is pretty much confirmed now, Gamespot story, etc. Take a look for those who care. Next:

Everything about this post makes me want to go get my Louisville Slugger and beat some sense into you and then bury you in the grave you've just dug for yourself. So lets begin.
You can say that it was a "terrible game" but most
everyone else disagrees with you. Final Fantasy XII went over incredibly well despite the incessant bitching that went on from fanboys and purists who didn't want to see their precious series that beat turn-based random-battle system to death try something different. The new system went over well with the general public as well as the reviewers overall, which is impressive considering how many of them had played the previous games and how successful Final Fantasy X was. The game received great reviews not just from publishers but from fans as well. This whole vain "I could tell it would be bad just by the smell of the air on Sunday morning, three months before its release" garbage is baseless and ultimately irrelevant since it only serves to highlight how poor your judgment really is.
Considering that Final Fantasy XIII hasn't come out yet or that we've hardly seen any gameplay footage at all, I call **** on your "This will probably not be good" prediction followed by the patronizing remarks you decided to tack on like you were being cavalier. There's not even close to enough information about this game to make a judgment call yet. This isn't Vampire Rain.
I almost didn't respond to this, but when I saw the screen shot I was compelled.
I’m a pessimist. The reason I think XIII won’t be good is because of XII. Mostly it’s me being bitter than after they made XI an MMO, the next thing they drop is XII. I really hate that game. From here on this is pretty much a post about why.
XII has the combat system of a MMO. It’s bland, it’s boring. I don’t care that they changed it from turn based, but they could at least change it to something that doesn’t suck. Compare
FFXI to
FFXII. Game would have made a better MMO. If you want to see a good RPG combat system, play Grandia. As for story, basically Star Wars. Characters were about as boring as fighting things, save Barsh or Balthier. I was just overwhelmed with this terrible feeling of apathy throughout the game, until I finally just couldn't turn it on again. The only good thing was the level up system, which was just the sphere grid from X shooting heroin and driving through a school zone at and hundred miles per hour while on fire.
But, as I said, XIII looks like it has a really pretty combat system. I’m just not counting on it to be good after the way the last one was implemented. And that one guy owns. So we’ll see.
P.S.: Australia really gets screwed on games. I feel bad for them.
