Yoshikuni felt a cold voice whisper down his neck. Yo-shi-ku...Yo-shi.
"Hello?" He swung around and saw nothing. He told himself it was just his imagination and came over to the others. "I'm sorry, I was spacing. So what did I miss?" He gaped at the black figure before the group. It resembled a skeleten lightly draped with ripped cloth. It swung at the group and seemed to be focusing on Indigo. "Don't worry! I'm here to help now." He smiled and swung with a broad circle of slices aimed at the figure, finishing with a powerful thrust at it's chest. It then cast a spell, four dark blades circled around Yoshikuni, then thrusting at him. He was stunned by the power of this attack. He staggered back and was attacked two more times, the black skeletal figure finished with a decrease power spell.
[Battle phase result:

Indigo stood up and tightened her grip on the duelblades, making sure the sweat didn't make them slip from her hands. She quickly used a potion then, restoring only a small amount of hitpoints. Afterwards with renewed determination she made her way towards the black humanoid creature and jumped; her duelblades then began shining a bright yellow color. At the same time her MP decreased slightly as she slashed at it with incredible power; sparks flying everywhere as she did so.
"Falling. . .STAR!" She cried, finishing her special attack. A bright orb appeared from the above the forest abyss and fell crashing onto the unsuspecting creature causing considerable damage. The sudden impact caused the creature to fall on it's back. However it was quick to get back on it's feet and with a fast pace it's claws extended stabbing Indigo's chest.
Experiencing the pain as if it were real, Indigo shut her eyes and tried to remain motionless as she could not seem to move at all. Suddenly the creature's claws retreated with great speed, the action sent Indigo falling to the floor. Out of the corner of her eye she could see drops of red liquid on the floor just beneath her.
"Is that. . .my blood?"

Shirai looked at the monster,"now it's time to end it!" he slashed the monster once, then spiralled around, hitting another two times before slashing downwards in a purple arc,"return from whence yo came... GARUDA EDGE!!!!" the arc vanished, then he sheathed his sword. there was a crack, then the shadow seemed to slowly fade into thin air. He sighed softly,"that's that.. well.. I guess that means tha.. HNGH!!" he suddenly fell to the floor. the black markings on his body had crawled off, forming what looked like a shadowy version of Shirai. it silently vanished into the air, smiling as it did so. Shirai lay on the floor, unable to move.
in real life.. Shirai lay, slowly drifting in and out of conscience. there was a small gap, then he hauled himself up, looking at the screen,"ugh.. that didn't happen.. guh.. the last time I fought.." he picked up the M2D that was lying on the floor..
in the game, Shirai was knelling, trying to use his sword as a support. his hair ha turned silver white, and his sword glowed with a holy aura. he looked up,"gah.. I have no idea what happened.. the markings've gone.. but I'm feeling pain... in real life as well..." he managed to steady himself,"well guys.. it looks like I'm now officially along for the ride.." he looked at his sword,"who new that holy-masamune was the weapon I've been using all this time... too bad that black coating sealed its power.." he sheathed it, then looked around,"so. the name's Shirai Otome. It's gonna be a pleasure working with you!"
}}}}}-Mac-Anu-
a shadow flew over the top of Mac-Anu, landing near a girl, and a man hidden by a cloak. the man looked at it,"jeez.. be more conspicuous okay?" the creature suddenly vanished into his shadow. a gust of wind blew his hood off. the girl yawned,"so Yoshpetos... what'll you do now that Shirai knows you 'posessed' him? End it so he doesn't ruin your schemes?" Yoshpetos smiled,"no Lunaris.. I wouldn't do that to him... he's a great resource for me.." he cracked his knuckles,"only if he finds out that I'm still in existance, and discovers our plans.." a purple flaming broadsword appeared near him,"will he become prime threat... for at the moment.." two pictures appeared in front of him. one of Indigo, and one of Sauna. Sauna's picture was gray,"these two are our biggest threat..."
As the creature faded away, Indigo could no longer endure the pain she felt and quickly fell to the ground. She lay there for a moment watching as Shirai's black vines stripped from his character and formed some type of doubleganger; the creature itself also vanished. Afterwards there was a dreaded moment of silence as Indigo gathered up the strength to stand up once more. She could feel the pounding of her actual heart against her chest making her breathing uneasy. She looked at Shirai's sword then, trying to make sense of what was happening.
"I don't know what that was. . ." She said slowly. "But it's gone now."
Indigo's thoughts were interupted then as she noticed something bright in the distance in front of them. When she approached it she realized it was another portal, or a gap in the field's original design. If she was correct then the portal would lead them to perhaps another Outer Dungeon, where a path to Sauna might be located; that or Sauna himself. Indigo turned around and looked at everyone.
"There's another one." She said, referring to the gap in front of her. "If we go inside we might run into Sauna's game character again..." She continued, feeling uneasy. "Well, Im going to go in. I don't have any other choice."
With that said, and determined to find Sauna's character she stepped into the portal and her character vanished from the field. The rest seemed tempted to follow.
>>>...CC-Corp Building// Administrator's Office//
Within the gray walls of the office, and amyst the growing tension of the entire complex, A rather young man sat patiently on his chair. In front of the man there was a slightly large wooden desk with various pictures of family and friends on one side while several stacks of office work and papers piled the other side. There was a large calender tapped on the desk's surface and it seemed as though the month was coming to an end; every day passed marked with a red "x".
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and a moment later another young man entered the office. He was slightly less taller, white skin and light brown curly hair. He had a pair of dark brown glasses, and as he approached the other man he layed another stack of paper work on the desk. He then sat down, and sighed.
"The majority is already getting ready to leave the corporation, Sir. They say once the game is officially over with most of them are going to be layed off. And well, unless we can merge with another corporation I don't think they have any other choice..." He said, looking quite exhausted and worried. The other man sitting behind the desk seemed sympathetic, but also knew better. The chances of a merger to occur at the moment were probably alot higher than before. It wasn't something he had lost all hope to. Afterwards he turned his chair around and through a large window located at the end of the office he could see the cityscape.
"I'm sure you must be worried aswell. . .but believe me, this corporation still has some hope." He said. "I wouldn't be dwelling on worst-case senarios just yet."
At that moment the phone on the desk began to ring. The man picked it up and answered...
"Is there something wrong?" He asked. A moment later, "I see. . .I will look into that immediatly." He hung the phone and turned around again, facing the concerned assosiate.
"I'm must busy myself at the moment, but i'll speak with you later, Tamayaki."
Feeling a little bad, Tamayaki turned around and rushed out of the room.
The man turned on the computer and the logo for [The World] appeared. He clicked on it twice then...
Shirai followed dutifully behind Indigo, walking into the portal. there was a flash as his vision changed, then he looked around. the area seemed desolate, almost falling apart. He whistled, then looked at Indigo,"so this is an outer dungeon.. I've heard about them before.. but this is the first time I've actually been in one.." he looked around again,"Ominous, isn't it?"
Kyo: { follows them into the portal behind but then falls down to a knee but then he stands up} yeah just walk past me and dont heal me or anything it's cool { he keeps up with them and his eyes r normal and his charecter is bleeding all over}
Shirai looked at Kyo,"I never bothered to teach my character recovery spells or revival spells, I always relied on pure strength.. then there's the other small problem... my maximum HP has decreased to 1... kinda funny hunh?" he sighed, then looked down,"how many revives am I going to end up wasting? do I have to dodge the undodgable?"
Tundra watched from the shadows of the forest as he looked upon the portal that he had just seen the group of players disappear into. He couldn't help himself from being more than a little curious about who they were and if they, like him, were draw to this place in search of something. What if what they sought after was the same thing he had been searching for, and then the thought hit him like a bolt of lightning...what if they find it first. No, he wouldn't allow that, not after all he had done in the past to find it. All he could allow was the hope that the decision he was about to make wouldn't come back to haunt him in the end. He considered it for a few seconds before practically whispering to himself
"Why not, maybe in the end this will pan out for the best, and heck whats the worst that can happen, its only a game right?"
He just wished, that for once in his life, he was right.
Without another thought he walked out of the shadow and into the portal with the single name seared into his mind...Elleone.
We are all but leaves being carried on the river of time, Sometimes the river is calm and peaceful, and sometimes the current is fast and strong, Until one day, when we are finally washed ashore and released from the rivers grasp.
As Indigo entered through the portal she saw the familiar blue world they had discovered previously. All around them transparent cubes and electrical streams rushed through, as they were to be surfing space itself. Beneath her Indigo saw a partial path that extended deeper into the unknown area. She became startled as she heard Shirai's footsteps behind her.
"An outer-dungeon?" She asked, surprised Shirai seemed to know about the existence of such areas within the game. "I didn't think these places actually had a name. This must mean CC-Corp themselves must be fully aware of there presence. . .right?"
An uncertain silence followed as Indigo turned around again, wondering if that System Administrator they had met in the first dungeon was actually aware of everything that was going on, around them of course. And if they were aware of the situation then wouldn't they be doing something about this, she thought.
"You know, the only reason I never asked help from the System Administrators was because, I didn't want them getting into my personal life. . .but after everything thats happened, I don't even think they can do much anyways." She said, sounding saddened. "And besides, this game only has less than seven days before it's officially shut down. I doubt they're going to actually help."
With that Indigo walked forwards, treading deeper into unknown territory. As they reached the end of the path, Indigo noticed another path not far from where they stood. The only problem was that to get to the other side, they would have to jump. Who knew what could happen to their character data if they fell into the abyss below, she wondered as she gathered the enough courage to actually jump.
"Sauna is somewhere here..." She whispered. "No matter if his real or not, I need to find him."
Shockingly Indigo took three steps back and then ran towards the end of the path; she jumped high enough to land a little farther than she expected into the other path. However, just as she landed unfamiliar echoes could be heard coming from deeper into the Outer Dungeon.
"Okay guys, be careful..." She warned.
Shirai looked over the edge with a blank expression as an anime esque sweat drop hovered above his head,"you don't have to tell me twice.." he jumped back a few steps, then dashed over the ravine, only making it halfway because of his jump angle, but still managing to get across with the aid of BreakFlash. he landed near a shard of loose data, which shattered as he sheathed his sword. he looked up,"heyhey.. I had to find something to attack, otherwise the BreakFlash's warp wouldn'tve worked, and I'd be plummeting into a nasty death..."
It took a few seconds for Tundra to register his knew surrounds, he had originally thought that the portal was like a special path to a lower section of the area. The realization that the portal was actually a warp gate of some sort only succeded in unerving him even further. What was truly disturbing was the layout of this new area, it was a true mix of creepy, cool, and beautiful that was so different than anything else he had ever seen before in the world. He really had to wonder if his original decision to follow those players was actually one of his better ideas or not. With that thought he remembered...
"Those players"...he had almost forgotten why he had gone through the portal in the first place. With that he began to scan his immediate area for any sign of the group he had spotted. It didn't take long for him to spot them near a precipice, at which point he decided to hang back where he was until they had begun to move on before he attempt the jump stunt himself...it was truly times like this that Tundra wished he had a stunt double.
We are all but leaves being carried on the river of time, Sometimes the river is calm and peaceful, and sometimes the current is fast and strong, Until one day, when we are finally washed ashore and released from the rivers grasp.
As Shirai and the rest followed, Indigo continued deeper into the Outer Dungeon; having suddenly felt as if they were being watched. However because of the atmosphere she quickly ignored the uncomfortable feeling, realizing the entire area was becoming alot more wicked the longer they stayed there. Then suddenly as they neared the middle of the next path there was a familiar tremor. This caused the unsuspecting Indigo to fall to the ground; she could see the others also struggle to regain their balanace aswell. As she stood back up she released her Duel Blades and looked into the distance, where an unknown echoing was coming from. It was almost, un-human she thought.
Then, she gasped.
At the very end of the path she could see a bright circle form in thin air; it stretched wide opened forming another portal and within the light there was a dark figure. At this moment her heart began to pound heavily again. She couldn't tell wether another monster was about to come out, or if Sauna's game character was trying to communicate again. Unable to think about it anymore, and after becoming overwhelmed, she ran towards the end of the path and approached the newly form portal. To her surprised she could make out the appearance of Sauna's character inside. She stopped for a moment, thinking about what she was going to do. But then, Sauna extended his arm and touched the invisible barrier in front of him. It would not let him get into the Outer Dungeon, much like in the previous time.
"Indigo..." he said. "It's me. It's me, your brother...Sauna."
Tundra approched the cliff and took a second to look down to get an idea of how far of a fall that would actually be...no use he couldn't determine it. It would be quite a fall, but he couldn't stop here, no that was not an option he had to find out what that group was up to and more importantly...what they knew. Besides, his time was running out and these people where the only solid lead he had at the moment, he couldn't let that go with everything coming down to the wire. With one last thought about how bad of an idea this seemed he rose his courage, backed up a good amount, and screamed "BANZAI!!!" running at break-neck speed towards the gap. Right when it was almost to late to jump he sprung upwards, easily clearing the gap, and crash landing on the other side head first. "well...at least...i made it..." thank god this was a game or that would have really hurt. He quickly collected himself off of the ground and with a lopsided grin hurried off in the direction the players went...he felt weird though, like something odd was about to happen...the sooner he caught up, the better.

(Sorry I took a while...this week was a bit hectic. :/ )
>>> CC-Corp SystemAdministrator Room//[The World]
"The presence of a newly formed gap has been detected at Obstructed Leading Gate." The CC-Corp superioir said. His face shone brightly within the large monitor above Clasko. He stood beneath patiently.
"RedCliff has informed me that certain Bugs within the OuterGrounds have been...mutating." He continued. "Unfortunately you'll have to go and find the group of players that have probably entered the Outer Dungeon. The possibility of the black mass hiding inside is very high. Please Clasko, retreive the members before they make contact with the virus."
"Yes, Sir. I'm on my way." Clasko replied and quickly turned around. He ran downwards the stairs and stopped in front of the Chaos Gate. Soon a special red aura had consumed his character. Meanwhile, the entire room became dark. The monitor shut down.
>>> Obstructed Leading Gate// Outer-Dungeon
"Sau...na?" Indigo asked.
She approached the white portal with caution and starred at Sauna's game character. She was speechless as she realized the character moved and spoke as though it was actually being controlled by Sauna in the realworld. The thought that his soul could take over his game character seemed highly obsurd to her, but she didn't know what else to think. The entire hacker idea seemed less likely than before. It just didn't add up.
"How can I know your truely my brother?" She asked him.
Sauna starred at her for a moment and finally replied.
"Because...you always told me, that no matter whatever happened to us...we would never separate from each other. " He replied.
"Don't you remember? That time I got lost in the carnival...you and mum looked for me, for hours...and when you found me first you hugged me tighter than any hug before. You told me, that if I ever got lost again, you wouldn't give up looking for me..."
By this time Indigo felt her body grow heavy. She tried to speak back, but was too astonished for words. She simply had her hand covering her mouth, as she tried to catch her breath. Long streams of tires fell from her cheecks.
"I don't have much time to talk...but I have to tell you this;" He said. "I don't know how I got here, or why...and I'm trying to find my way back. But there is something on your side...something very powerful and extremely dangerous. You have to be ca-e..f..ull. . . .yo-. . .uch. . .ti. . .e." The sound of his voice trailed off as static occured around them. Indigo, trying to calm herself down drew nearer to the portal and layed her hands on the invisble force field where Sauna's hands were also touching.
There was another tremor before Indigo fell to the ground, and the portal in which Sauna stood inside of began to close. But as she stood up and tried to speak, the portal closed on them completely and she fell to the front.
"S-S-...Sauna..." She whispered.
The loud echoing unhuman sound began to be heard again, this time originating from high above them; high into the digital abyss. Everyone knew some type of presence was approaching and it was coming directly at him quickly. Indigo stood up again; she released her Duel Blades and turned to the rest.
"You guys, something's coming..."
Suddenly, an anormous mass of black descended from above. Several bubbles and streaks of black surrounded it as it drew nearer to the party.
It continued to make echoes around them, and soon afterwards another tremor occured. This time however, it was much less impacting.
The black mass engendered several tentacles, or what resembled "arms" out of its black body and they began to stretch away.
Frightened by this unpresidented encounter Indigo began to step away from the black mass.
"Come on, Indigo...you cant let whatever this thing is get to you."
She told herself and got into her battle position.
Shirai had been watching the event from afar, and had guessed something like this would happen. He stood not too far from the others, sword drawn, ready to dash in at a moment's notice, then he remembered his HP amount. he called out to the others,"uhh.. dang it guys... I'm only at 1HP... and it's apparently my MAX. HP now.." he looked nervous,"I don't know what'll happen If I get killed, so could I ask you guys to keep it's attacks away from me?"
"Crap! Here, this should help." Indigo said as she applied a health item to Shirai who was in critical condition. Afterwards she started to distance herself from the black mass, however because there was very limited floor space they could travel on mobility was not a good factor. Indigo haulted before turning behind her and seeing she was at the edge of the floor; a dark abyss awaited beneath.
Startled, she quickly moved away from the edge and turned to look at the black mass. It's echoing noises surrounded the Outer-Dungeon as she got nearer. Just then, several black tentacles shot out from the black mass'es body and towards Indigo. She quickly dodged the first two strikes but she got struck down with three other black streaks. Hurt she fell to the floor and looked at her body. The attack had left three long scars on her back and her HP seemed to be decreasing little by little. Almost as if it was some status affect.
"This isn't good." She said. "None of my items can heal this effect..."
Indigo warned the rest to keep their distance from the black mass. It's attacks had the unusual ability to induce a poisen-like status effect that was uncurable with any item. Her heart began to race against her chest again as she saw her life bar reaching half way down.
"Oh no...If I die here,...whats going to happen?" She asked.
Shirai took the health item, but it didn't work. He sighed,"screw it.. I'm getting you guys out of here.." he noticed a rift in the Area's wall, then slashed the monster, stunning it. he then grabbed Indigo and Keith, carrying them towards the rift,"there's no way in hell we can defeat that thing in our current state... the best choice is to just run from it...." he jumped through the rift, making sure that Kyo and Yoshikuni were safely out of harm's way. He smiled when he counted everyone as present,"well then... glad to see that you're safe..." he spoke with an obviously sarcastic tone, looking up at the buggy sky from where he was sitting..
Kyo: dammit { he stands up} I need some health now { he grabs a potion in a chest near by them and he drinks it} AHHHH!!!! that was good allright so what do we do know { he puts his weapon away} well looks like I have no choice but to stick waround with you guys till this ends
