.Hack//LOST (PART C)--PROMISE

Shirai trembled slightly,"you said [Obstructed Leading Gate].. right?" he shuddered, then spoke again,"that's the are where I encountered the unkown monster.." he looked down, whispered something to himself, then got up, looking determined to do something,"rihgt.. I'll go with you. there's a slim chance that Yoshpetos might be there.." he smiled softly, trying not to pay attention to the faint crying coming from behind the waterfall.."

"hmm i'll definately come.. and i'm sure the others would too! so let's go! okay?" keith shouted out in confidence and then ran off.

[The-Missing-Spade]

Indigo felt the dreadful feeling return after Shirai mentioned the encounter with the monster in that same field. Why would Sauna ask them to return to such an uncertain place, Indigo thought. Could it be that perhaps there was a connection between the unknown "black mass" and Sauna? Indigo couldn't quite place the puzzle pieces together yet so she sighed and turned around, looking ahead into the dazzling waters that fell to a mist beneath them. The atmosphere of the entire Lost Ground had become much darker than before.

None the less Indigo decided and turned around again, facing the rest.
"Fine. I'm going to be on my way then. Those who are going to follow me--you're are already aware of the danger that could await." With that she began walking back towards the Chaos Gate that floated not to far and in an aura of blue her character had vanished; the rest soon followed.

Once they had returned to Mac.Anu Indigo was quick to select the keywords and was well on her way to yet another field. But unlike before, she was more ready to contront danger than she had been in the last two days. It seemed as though she had become much stronger in such a small amount of time. Her only worry was that she would break under the pressure once more, with the assumption that she met Sauna's character once again.

In the back of her head, she really hoped that the Sauna inside the game was actually the soul of the Sauna lying ill on a hospital bed in the real world. Moment laters she had arrived at [Obstructed Leading Gate].

Upon the arrival, Indigo quickly noticed tall trees all around her. There were small half-lit lamps hanging above the branches, with odd symbols colored onto them. She saw small scrolls hanging from the trees aswell. They seem to resemble ancient scrolls used in the past to protect humans from demons. But to find those scrolls inside a game, it made Indigo shiver at the thought of the same monster Shirai encountered to appear once more.

"This must be a forest field..." She said softly.

Small beams of sunlight that reached under the leaves helped lighten the area a little bit more; especially the passage that stretched in front of Indigo. Patiently, she awaited for rest to arrive.

Kyo: { staying quiet for some odd reason and then he starts walking foward a few feet and then looks around} ....................... well lets get going *yawn* { he looks around again and then looks back} allright come come on I want to try pout my new weapon on a monster and get some new items! I'm gonna get rich off of this place

Shirai appeared in Obstructing Leading gate. He looked around at the strangely shaped lamps hanging from the trees,"well... I guess it hasn't changed at all..." he sighed, then what appeared to be a blood curdling, completely inhuman scream echoed through the area. Shirai looked up,"don't worry about the screaming... it's just part of the area level... probably something generated by the abnormalities in the data.." he tapped the air in front of him, and there was a small 'ping', then the same, blood-curdling scream seemed to erupt in his face,"if you ask me... I think it really improves the atmosphere.." he chuckled softly at the thought of a prank involving the glitches, then stopped laughing once he realized that glitch exploitation was pretty much illegal in 'The World'...

The dark forest sprawled on in every direction. It was a very difficult area to see in. Yoshikuni walked forward a bit into the surreal and strange area. Multicolored lamps were hung about, swinging in the smoothe breeze. But through the wind shreiking noised sounded and echoed, making Yoshikuni's blood chill.
At one moment when he heard a scream, something caught the edge of his sight, he gasped for air and continued into the dark expansive forest, getting more and more worried all the while.

'this is just a game that's all..' keith thought to himself.. however the scenery tells a total different story.. "wah? a scream.." keith jumped.. "uhh.. this is really something huh?.. haha" suddenly there a sudden rustling sound near a tree.. "wha? what was that?"

[The-Missing-Spade]

The occasional screams generating around the forest brought renewed fear as Indigo looked around the area. For the moment the only path they could find was the long open road straight ahead. Slowly and cautiously she made her way along with the rest until they reach the end of the long road, where the path split into two different ways. Upon looking towards the map on the right upper side of her screen Indigo noticed it did not indicate where exactly both roads lead. Instead, it seemed as though the only thing visible were blue dots; the dots that symbolized the presence of each character in the field.

"This is. . .confusing." Indigo said. "We can either take the path to the right or the one to the left. Quite frankly, I don't think its going to make much of a difference."

With that she started towards the right side of the road, where she stopped and looked back at the rest. "Now that I think about it, we can split into two groups, but...I don't think that will be a good idea. We're not exactly alot of people after all." She said and sighed. "Well in any case, Im going this way. I have a feeling we might run into something sooner or later."

Kyo: I'll go this way I have a feeling theres treasure down this way I'll catch up with you later {he walks to the left and then streches for a minute and then keeps walking} allright treasure here I come!

[The-Missing-Spade]

Indigo felt concerned as she watched Kyo take the left route. Unable to say anything she simply gulped and continued forward, where at a distance she could see what looked like some type of "well". As she ran towards it she realized it was an rather old-looking pipe that extended all the way out of the ground, which seemed like a well from afar. Indigo approached the pipe and peaked inside, only making out an overwhelming darkness within. Finally she stepped back and looked at the rest, unsure what of make of her discovery.

"I don't think I've ever seen pipes sprouting from the ground in fields like this..." She said. "But, just like the scrolls and constant shouting, it must be part of the field right?" She asked, realizing this area could be part of another game event.
"Shirai?" She asked just then. "Where exactly did you meet this monster you fought? Was it somewhere here, or was it towards the left route...?"

Kyo: raaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! { splits a monster in 2 but then more just keep appearing and then he looks up breathing heavily his mp almost completly drained and his eyes r blood red and slits} heh raaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!! {punches a monster into the tree and slices it deep into the chest and then he looks at the other monsters} come get me! { he runs twoards them and spins around and wacks one monster cleaving it in half from the waist up and he starts attacking and his attacks getting more fierce and brutal the more he fights} keh! allright i'll take down all of you { he runs at them}

Shirai looked up,"all I can remember is that that well was a spring of myst... and the minute I threw my black-edged katana in it, my weapon was rejected, and that black monster suddenly dropped out of the sky..." he looked at the spring of myst,"unless this spring suddenly resets... then I'm not sure what'll happen.."

Yoshikuni found himself being mindlessly drawn into the black depths of the forest, unable to stop the urge, he continued on.

((Hey everyone! ^^ Sorry I havn't been as active these last few days. I had some school projects to work on ,as well as getting ready for halloween and the parties that followed. XD I hope you all had a fun halloween as well--and for those of you who think you're too young to trick-or-treat, everyone's starting to give out more Reeses. Just thought you should know. Well enough of that, lets get back into the action! ^^ ))

"A spring myst, huh. . ." Indigo repeated. She looked around and only noticing the pipe behind her, she decided to continue looking forward. At that moment she noticed Yoshikuni already walking on. She felt a little worried about it as she quickly caught up to him. He seemed as though he were trapped in some temporary trance. Hoping to break it, Indigo tapped him on his shoulder gently and smiled.
"It would be alot better if all of us walked closer to each other, you know..." She reminded. She then felt a strong sensation at the thought of Kyo who had wondered the other way. She hoped he was safe somehow.

A couple of minutes later as they wondered the field Indigo was finally able to spot what looked like some myst coming from a distance. Hoping it was the same spring myst Shirai had encountered she quickly ran up to it; Yoshikuni, Shirai, and Keith soon followed. Within seconds all of them had gathered around it. There was a small blue spring in the center of the forest with several bright sparkles within it. Inside however they could only make out a small black whole; which was caused by the actual depts of the spring itself. There was also a warm feeling that surrounded them then; Indigo felt a little releived by it but was still concerned about their safety.
"Well, we found it-i think." She said softly. "I guess the only way to find out if it works is if one of us drops a weapon...I only have my basic pair of Duel Blades and the one's im currently using so I'm afraid I can't do it." She continued. "But im sure one of you has a weapon to spare, right?"
She hoped either one would decide quickly, as she continued growing worried about Kyo.

Shirai sighed,"yeah..." he unequipped his weapon, replacing it with laevateinn,"I have the same katana I always use.." he lifted it up. it was as black as the night sky above,"and funnily enough... this is the thing that caused that monster to show up... I don't think the monster came off the sword though.." he held it over the spring of myst,"I think the monster only appeared, because it was attracted by the noise of the dying spring.." he dropped the sword into the spring, then there was a pause, white noise, and suddenly the spring had turned black. a blue droplet suddenly appeared, hovering in front of the group, screaming and writhing in agony. Shirai's katana was sticking out of it's body, then there was a pause, the droplet vanished, and Shirai's katana flew back into his hands. a small echoing whisper began to pass through the trees..

Indigo stepped back as the raindrop NPC splashed from out of the black spring. Instinctively she drew out her Duel Blades, but lowered them as soon as the rain dropped vanished. After the weapon had returned to Shirai's arms, several loud echoes began resonating all around the forest; the wind seemed to pick up as well and soon the loud sound of the trees brushing on each other surrounded them. Scared, Indigo lifted her Duel Blades once more and got into her battle position. She turned to Shirai worried about the weapon and approached him.

"Shirai, that weapon." She said. "I don't think it's safe..."

Suddenly there was a loud tremor in the field causing them to almost loose balance. Meanwhile, the monsters that had surrounded Kyo had begun to vanish from the area as the tremor continued. There was a loud shout inside the forest then, not sounding anything like a human. Soon afterwards the tremor subsided and the wind decreased it's rage. Indigo scanned her quiet surroundings, but saw nothing.
"Whats going on?. . ." She asked. "Where do these tremors come from?"

Not to far from where they stood, there was a portal opening up; A large dark humanoid-looking monster began to rip through the portal and enter the field. It roared loudly again; his voice reaching the ears of everyone else.
"Theres that roaring sound again!" Indigo shouted. "If we can follow it we might encounter the monster..."
She began to feel an uncomfortable sensation in her stomach, meanwhile her throat tied up a little.
"It's okay, it's okay. . .everything's gonna be okay..." She told herself.

Shirai sighed, unsheathing the katana,"no worries, I've dealt with this beforehand... I'm pretty sure I can do it again.. besides.." his eye glowed crimson as the markings on his arm flared up, making it turn pitch black and slightly jagged (not AIDA),"now I get to test this thing out to the max..." Shirai took a battle stance,"I'm ready when you are!" the claw suddenly tore through the data as the humanoid stepped through, sending out a roar that caused the area to ripple...

Kyo: { looks in the direction of others and the looks in his eyes just doesnt seem normal its seems as though its not kyo its someone else and he starts sprinting towards them and he takes the balde in both of hais hands as it gets broader and it glows red and stemming comming off of it and he sees the monster in sight and he jumps up} RAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! *ROAR*! { he starts to falls towards the creature and flips and then slams into the creatures shoulder slicing his sword through it} peircing! ......... blade! { he slashes through it and then he runs at the monster again as his sword starts to glow red again} RAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!

When the party had reached the area, they saw the dark humanoid shaped monster rip through another portal and finally enter the field. With one last roar that echoed all around the forest an unexpected battle between them had commenced. However, just as Indigo prepared herself she turned around at the noise of constant running in the distance. She quickly made out Kyo's character as it ran passed her with incredible speed and jumped towards the monster, slashing its shoulder with a piercing attack.

Unfortunately, before Kyo could land the next move the monster took a hold of Kyo's neck and threw him towards a group of trees in the distance where he hit them hard and then fell to the floor. Then the injury on his shoulder began to close itself, as if it were recovering. It's eyes began glowing a blue color.
"What in the world is that thing?" Indigo shouted; the wind picked up once more.
"Well, we can't afford to waste time with it...." She said. "Shirai. . .we need to defeat it. Maybe afterwards those black vines in your character will dissapear."

Determined to defeat it, Indigo ran towards it while it recovered and slashed at it three times with regular attacks. Then she ran behind him preparing for a special but the humanoid quickly turned around and with its long arms it swung them rapidly slapping Indigo twice and sending her some distance.
"Aaaaaah!" She shouted.
"Damn this monster is too strong..." She thought.

Damage Done=200+200+200=600 hit points total!

Shirai quickly dashed in front of Indigo, blocking the next attack,"heh... this is just like what It did last time.. and I know the flaw in its attacks!" he readied his sword, then dashed at the monster, vanishing, then reappearing behind the monster. a slash mark in the shape of the japanese character for 'death' was etched into the monster's chest. Shirai got up, obviously shaken. the monster countered by knocking him out of the way. he skidded across the floor, unable to recover due to the effect of the markings. he slowly rose up,"well.. I wasn't expecting that.."

Total damage done: flash step + nil = 3000 dmg
Total damage taken: 1500 (critical) + 100 = 600 dmg

Shirai HP: 2400
