Just remembered that this thread existed.

Anyways 00 far exceeded my expectations, I expected it to become another failure just like SEED, but I guess it proved me wrong. Character development was amazing, the series started off slow and even a little bit comical, but it became serious and every character was challenged to improve. I am definately looking forward to the second season. I guess this is the result of most of the staff members being Universal Century fans.

My favourite characters so far are Lockon Stratos and Graham Aker, with Feldt Grace holding the position of favourite female.

Once again I agree. I thought it was trash like 11 episodes ago but then the story started to step up and characters were started to be developed! Even the Gundams were started to take some damage, unlike in SEED where every Gundam had a Phenoix Down.

My favorite characters are Allelujah/Hallelujah Haptism, Lockon Stratos, Christina Sierra, and delicious Sumeragi Lee Noriega.

This show grew on me. I thought the first few episodes were boring as hell, and it was suffering from "Gundam is OP" syndrome. But it got much better. And damn what a way to end it, I especially loved how Exia used all 7 blades on Evil Golden Mobile Suit at the end. But why is it always the Gundam chracters I love the most always get the short end of the stick? (Lockon noooooo!) Whats even worse is that Ali, the Face of Evil still lives.

Can't wait for the next episode. In October. Thank God, for Code Geass R2, I've got another awesome mecha anime to watch until then.

Not really, it's a Gundam tradition that the most BA characters get BA deaths. That way they can go out with a bang rather than being potentially screwed over in the sequel. All the BA Gundam characters go out with a bang, Ramba Ral, Anavel Gato, Norris Packard, etc. When a series breaks this tradition, it is a complete pile of failure (SEED).

I'm quite aware that its Gundam tradition to kill of characters towards the end of the series. But I personally think its overdone, ever since Tomino made it like that. You do NOT need a bloodbath to make a great mecha series. Case in point: Gundam X

Also SEED was great, Destiny was crap. SEED actually had alot of great deaths like Mwu and Natarle. Destiny sucks because it spat on everything SEED stood for, by making character resurrections and making EVERYONE (Every.Single.Character) a complete idiot. By the end of Destiny, I didn't care about anybody.

Lol, I remember going up to Kouen and asking "Is Gundam 00 worth it?" in IRC because a friend recommended it. Of course, Kouen is one of the uber supreme fans of Gundam, so it was a wise choice.

And you know what, I actually like this Gundam series. I don't fall asleep or gauge my eyes out at its crappiness. And the characters are appealing, too (Yun Koga character designs FTW). Thanks.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Second Season



With the release of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 drawing nearer, of course trailers and new information will be released. In the past month or so it's already revealed that the cast will be the "same" and they will be recieving new Gundams.

-Spoilers Begin-
So far the information we know are:

-Meisters will be the "same"
-New Gundams
-New uniforms
-New Celestial Being ship which now looks like the Nahel Argama
-Setsuna now taking on the role of a leader
-Tieria being responsible for reviving Celestial Being
-Captain Graham, he is a CHAR
-Louise being a pilot
-Marina is still doing well and now styles a business-like fashion
-The Wild Bear of Russia's son
-Allelujah being captured and thrown in a straight jacket
-Lasse Aion, the presumed dead gunner that fought in the GN-Arms Type-E is alive
-Feldt looking as cute/hot as always
-Ian Vasty's (the engineer) daughter is now in charge of communications

With the recent release of the new trailer at the 2008 Gundam Expo, we have been given more information concerning the second season.

Some new information revealed in this trailer are:

-Exia remains damaged and is seen wearing a cloak, however it is still repaired from what we lost saw from Exia at the end of season one. (The head is there however half the face still remains damaged)
-The person who Saji points the gun at is Setsuna
-The unknown Red GN-X is fighting a Tierien Space Type and an Enact in Ali al-Saachez's colour during the Moralia conflict (Blue, not red)
-It seems that Sumeragi is now in a romantic relationship with Billy
-Lockon holding flowers possibly visiting a graveyard
-CHAR, I mean Graham is now styling a red military robe of sorts
-Setsuna (Possibly) is seen holding a gun and throwing a grenade (Possibly). It seems he is in some sort of a gunfight, probably prior to the meeting with Saji
-The Ali al-Saachez colour variation Enact is seen exploding

Now for my own little speculation:

-The first episode of the Second Season will show how Celestial Being gets revived
-Setsuna has been fighting by himself for the past 4 years. As seen by the damaged Exia, and the fact that it wears a cloak (Which in most cases in anime symbolizes the character, or Gundam in this case, has been cut off from the main faction or gone solo)
-The identities of the Gundam Meisters are no longer held to be a top secret (With Setsuna revealing himself to Saji, and the Earth Federation already knowing the identity of Allelujah since he's captured)
-The unknown red GN-X is CHAR... I mean Graham's personal mobile suit and he is attacking remnants or forces that oppose the Earth Federation
-The Lockon seen visiting the graveyard is actually Lyle visiting his parents' graves and possibly Neil's
-Saji is forced to affiliate himself with Celestial Being after being caught in the conflict of Setsuna fending himself from soldiers
-Allelujah will become a lot less passive through the time he has been captured (Most likely will end up a colder character)
-Feldt will continue to be the awesome tsundere she is, although some information say that she becomes more human (Deredere)

The first episode of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Second Season will air on October 05, 2008. The opening song will be Hakanaku mo Towa no Kanashi by UVERworld.

Also some other points:

-Celestial being has been remade, this time without the help of Veda. The group just continues to fight on behalf of Aeolia's ideals.

-The current antagonists being shaped up are the Arrows, the peacekeeping force of the Earth Sphere Federation. They suppress any rebellion ruthlessly but they also have absolute control of information flow, so the whole world doesn't know about their atrocities. Think Titans from Gundam Zeta only more subtle.

-Lockon is very very dead. This was confirmed by the director himself. Viewers who actually payed attention would know Lockon has a twin though.

Saji Crossroad - Saji, who was affected the most by the resulting strife caused by the Gundams, overcame various hardships in his grieving youth to become an adult. He works in space development, continuing to wait for another meeting with Louise. When will he achieve his dreams?

Feldt Grace - Escaping in an assault container with Sumeragi and Ian, she concentrates the life saved by Chris into the resurrection of Celestial Being. Though she was rarely emotional as a young person associating with people before, the 4 years span of time has largely matured her human nature.

Ian Vashti - Boarded an assault container in the decisive battle with the UN Forces and narrowly escaped. Afterwards, he began development of a new Gundam, the 00, at the request of Wang Liu Mei. Serves as an engineer in the resurrection of Celestial Being.

Mileina Vashti - Ian's daughter. A 14-year-old girl with innocence to spare but who participates in the reborn Celestial Being. She is an operator but as she exhibits her father's genius, she is also active as a mechanic.

Lasse Aeon - Went missing with the downed GN Arms during the decisive battle with Alejandro. But he miraculously turned up alive and returned to the reborn Celestial Being. After Lichtendahl's death, he is in charge on the bridge of not only the gunning but as the helmsman as well.

CB apparently has a tendency to hire jail bait operators >_>. Also I'm glad Lasse is alive. Never cared for him till the last episode, where he went all hot-blooded and awesome. If it weren't for him Setsuna would never have beaten Alejandro.

As for my speculation:
-I've got mixed feelings on seeing Saji and Louise again. Such annoying characters on Season 1. At least they might play a more important role now.
-The Enact and Tieren are not the color of Ali's blue Enact. Ali's blue was much darker. The fact that they have to same color scheme on two different armies makes me thing those are Earth Sphere Federation grunts.
-The red MS they are fighting seems to be a Custom GN-X type. (Ali maybe? Red is his color)
-WTF Kouen!? Do you know what a tsundere is? Feldt is nothing like a tsundere.

Setsuna only used the Trans-Am to kickstart the stability between the Twin Drives. He deactivated Trans-Am before he went on his debut.
