Honestly, Ash may be the son of a rogue pokemon that got his momma pregnant! After all, they never mention a father AT ALL in the show. The only other logical person is Prof. Oak as his dad, and if that were the case then Gary and Ash are relatives so Christmas is screwed up lol.

His mom said in the first episode your dad went off on a journey he would be so proud. It's not oak he will never have a father the reason ash does not have a father is because the creator of the shows father died so ash has no father for that reason. Ash will never have a dad unless he is needed to move the plot along.

It has plenty of evidence, the strongest being that they're both Pokemon Messiahs/Chosen Ones of a sort.

As stated Ash's father is simply unknown but I doubt the creators really thought people would question it so much. Sometimes people's parents just die.

Besides, Ash came from a broken family. Doesn't that inspire all you kids with divorced parents? I mean you can be a Pokemon Master too!

It hard to tell whos Ash's father. The time thing in pokemon also make it more confusing. If I'm not mistaken Giovanni is too much older then Delia for both of them to be in school together. Well Ash is is like 10-12 years old. Delia about 29-30. Giovanni is like 40. We all know it not Oak way to old he's got to be like 50. There still a change Giovanni might be.

Just because he looks older, it doesn't tell his age; I do remember hearing those theories about Giovanni being Ash's father, it could be a possibility. But if they do say who's his father, it'd mean the plot would advance, and I don't see this goldmine wanting to do so.

I was reading from Bulbapedia, and Pokemon wikia about Giovanni. There some wikipedia site for lots of stuff like FF , Megaman, and Smash bros etc. This might lead to some huge father-son pokemon battle. If that happen I would hope Ash kicks his ass.

This even better. Ash: so you are my father. For all of those years you had Team Rocket stalk me. You greedy power bastard. Why? Why? F*** you , and all of Team Rocket. I hate you. Then Ash gets all of his pokemon do thier strongest attacks , and he dies. Finally I don't have to worried about those stalkers.
Two stories. Ash goes on chasing his dream, or become the leader of Team Rocket, and takes over the world, and not fail. lol

This just bring back memories of when I was on this road trip, daydreaming. I was Imagining Pokemon fighting with a realistic look in a downtown alley, like FF7 Advent Children graphics.

Starts out with a Blaziken standing there in the rain, eyes closed, steam rising off of its body. Pan to the right a little bit, and u see a shadowed figure in the shape of Ash. Cut to the other side of the battlefield, out of the shadow of a building a pokeball is thrown. Out pops a Luxray. Sparks fly off of it where the raindrops hit... it looks up at the Blaziken. "Volt tackle!," Luxray leaps foward with the speed of lightning and lands the hit, it sends Blaziken flying into a brick wall, stuck in the hole the impact made... "Flame Kick...," Blaziken opens its eyes, as flames star enveloping its legs, then its entire body. It leaps from the wall into the air, does a spin, and comes down on Luxray's head! Pummeling it into the pavement. "Return...," the man recalls his pokemon, "GO! Garchomp!" You see the scales of the red area around its eye as it begins to open. "Blaziken, Ice Kick!" Blaziken rushes foward, the ground it steps on freezing in the form of footprints behind it. "Garchomp, use Dig." Garchomp jumps into the air, and dives through the concrete! You see its fin above the ground, moving like is swimming through the earth. It leaps up out of the ground and hits Blaziken, then spins and flings it into the wall using its tail. "Blaziken, Return" Ash pauses for a moment... he flashes a smile, "GO! Weavile!" You begin to hear its heartbeat. "Garchomp! Mega Punch!" Weavile braces itself with is claws crossed in front of its face. The blow sends it flying into the wall, just like Blaziken.
"Are you sure you're ready kid?" It remains silent for a few seconds, then you see Weavile turn its eyes to Ash, and then its heart begins to beat loudly... "Weavile!" Its head turns to its opponent, eyes widened. "DARK PUSLE!!!!" Suddenly a black cloud shaped like a ball appears and expands so rapidly that it encompasses the entire area, shaking the ground beneath their feet. When the cloud finally dissipates you see Garchomp stuck in the wall, and its trainer next to it, covering his eyes from the smoke. The rain finally clears, and the sun comes out. "Giovanni! You have to stop this!" He lowers his arm and looks at Ash. "It amazes me how much you've grown." One hand in his pocket, the other catching a ball he tosses up and down. "But its too late for any of that now. So... I choose you!" (cut to black) "MEWTWO!"
