ef - a tale of melodies, sequel to the popular anime ef - a tale of memories has been approved for production.
Personally I'm a huge fan of ef after having watched ef - a tale of memories. This came to a shock to me as I thought that they covered all the character storylines within the short 12 episodes. I think what they'll cover in this sequel is the story of Yuko, the girl who appears to give the protagonists advice in the first series, and Yu, Chihiro's guardian.
Discuss.

Re: ef - a tale of melodies
The television anime series ef - a tale of melodies. has been announced at Saturday's Rondo Robe 2008 event in Tokyo. The website for this Fall sequel to 2007's ef - a tale of memories series has simultaneously launched with a promotional video in streaming or downloadable format. Like the first series based on the ef - a fairy tale of the two adult romance game franchise, Shin Oonuma will direct the animators at SHAFT. Also returning are the supervisor Akiyuki Shinbo, series script supervisor Katsuhiko Takayama, character designer Nobuhiro Sugiyama (who is adapting the designs of Naru Nanao and 2C=Galore), and music composers Eiichiro Yanagi and Tenmon.
The cast so far includes Yumiko Nakajima (Yūko Amamiya), Kouichi Toochika (Yū Himura), Mai Goto (Mizuki Hayama), Kenji Hamada (Shūichi Kuze), Shizuka Itou (Nagi Hirono), and Tohru Furusawa (Akira Amamiya).

As to be expected from the soundtrack for melodies. This preview pretty much confirms that the story will be both a prequel and a sequel to ef - a tale of memories. Nagi Hirono is Hiro's sister who he used in the creation of his pen name Nagi Shindo. I'm kind of surprised how they already have a preview in such a short period of time.

Woooow awesome. ^___^ I really love Ef - A Tale of Memories and to think that they're doing a second season (ish...). To be honest though, I hope that Melodies is good... For me, Yuuko and Yuu's story never seemed to interest me much. Who knows though, maybe I'll be surprised with this as well~
