Hellsing Live-Action Movie

Since this pertains to an anime series, I'm putting it in the Anime section even though it's a live-action film. Anyways, here's the first trailer. My sources tell me that this is the real deal, so I don't have any reason to suspect it's fake. If I find anything, then I'll report it. Until then, though, enjoy the first teaser trailer to the Hellsing Live-Action Movie. My guess is that since only Seras appears in this trailer that they may be releasing "character trailers," so maybe we'll see more soon featuring Integra, Walter, Alucard and whoever else they plan on including.

As far as details of the movie are concerned, there really isn't much known about it other than what you see in this trailer. Sources say that Alucard will appear in this film, howere my guess is that this will serve as a new chapter in the Hellsing series in addition to the Millenium storyline and The Dawn. If not, then maybe it'll just be a live-action version of the Millenium war that's being told through the manga series. Will we hear the voices of the well-known and loved voice actors in this film dubbed over the live actors? I hope so, but somehow I doubt it. The only definite detail about this movie that I know of and haven't mentioned yet is that it's going to be filmed by Imagen in England, so perhaps the real actors (hopefully) will pull it off. I'll post more details as I find them out.

Since this is a live-action film centered around one of the few series that I've come to adore, I hope it's good. Unfortunately history has shown that live-action films are not typically very good, so my expectations aren't very high. With any luck the guy directing this movie will have the thoughtfulness to keep the feel of the series alive and well in this movie, the skill to keep it from sucking, and the sense to cast a decent cast of actors to play the parts. It's too early to tell what this will look like, though, so anything is possible.

Anyways, the video's not there anymore, but from what i can remember it was just a Seras-like girl walking on some dark building for a few seconds. Too short to be a trailer or a teaser, and didn't look fake at all...just not what you'd expect from an actual movie trailer.

This was produced several months ago as a spec teaser to get the greenlight from Japan. As of this point, production is moving forward and I will be directing it. My company is not producing as I was pulled on by an established production company who has already produced comic-to-film adaptations.

To answer your other question, this focuses on Seras' origin story and her entry into the Hellsing Organisation and it will be shot in England. I can't say who we are casting as the lead, but she looks exactly the part and everything about the story is as true to the originating material as can be. It will be very dark and gritty, mixed between something like the Russian film Night Watch and the feel of the american film Constantine.

My goal is to make this very real feeling, and to ground all that seems unbelievable in some sort of reality. You'll dig it, I promise!

You can google around for it. How authentic it is, I don't know really. I've only seen one website that said it was an April Fool's joke, though (the site you posted). Most have said that it was a private link that became public and posted all around YouTube. I'll ask around. I haven't been paying attention to it since it came out.

I read somewhere that they were working on a movie last year but they canceled it because the locations weren't good (or something like that.) and that they couldn't find actors. ..

The director confirmed that it was greenlighted. It was not an April Fools joke. The reason the trailer was taken down was because it wasn't supposed to have been released, and that the trailer was in fact leaked. Consequently the production company reserved the right to have it removed. So far there has been no official announcement and thus no official release date. There has been no cancellation, and more information will eventually be released.

That is the response I'm getting from the people I'm asking, and I'm confident they would know.

It looked great. The movie is supposed to center around the story of Seras and her introduction into the Hellsing Organization. Whoever they got to play her at least looked the part, which is more than can be said about most game/anime-to-movie adaptations.

Are you sure its about Seras? Cuz in the Trailer She looks like Shes wearing her uniform stained with blood, which happens in the 7th Manga when pip dies and she goes like berserk..

In the very first manga (and OVA) she shoots and tears apart an entire building full of ghouls with Alucard just before Anderson attacks them. She also did the same thing when she was being overwhelmed by the ghouls during the attack of the Valentine brothers... Have you actually read the story?
